Exetrius Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 This is grand! As I am trying to collect my thoughts on this fascinating piece of work, I reckon it may be easier for me to just list it: Massive crowd!! You said you didn't give as much care to each combo as you usually would, but I see many good figures, and none out of place, not a single one! The purple tiles are a brilliant idea: bringing harmony to overall colour distribution while also kicking up the 'cheering crowd' feel! Btw, I estimate there are ~440 figures in the scene. I counted 25 figures under the awning between the first arch and second arch (from left), which I used as a visual unit to quickly estimate the total. Presentation is off the charts! Great lighting and sharp-looking photography as usual, but the moving camera gif is wonderful (also, thanks for the credit there! ), and then the video... wow! Is that the first GoH video?? Really well-made timelapse montage and ditto narration! Now I also understand why you needed to summon the energy to do the editing. Intricate and inspiring architecture! The middle section with the pillars (and striking banners) looks so natural yet is definitely unconventional. I will deduce some points for stressing bricks, fragile construction, filler chaos, and some lack of front-to-back compatibility of your architecture. Which would all have gone unnoticed, had I not watched your video. Sorry. All in all, congrats on your achievements and looking forward to future contributions! Quote

I love the large masonry bricks at the front entrance (really love how implemented them in that archway), the "SNOT" construction for the dirt, and the dark red "awnings" in the back. I also like how you used those light bluish-gray "flick-fire missile" parts for a lot of the masonry - I have so many of those at home (and no idea what to do with them; this gave me some ideas!). Your outdoor shots are wonderfully cinematic as well! Not only that, but the positing of those minifigures makes this whole MOC come alive. I also appreciate your "Behind the Scenes" video - that's something you rarely see on this website, and it really made me appreciate the amount of work and creativity that went into this MOC (especially at such a large scale)! Thanks so much! I actually ran out of the missiles which I don't think I've ever done before Had to go borrow some! On 12/5/2021 at 6:22 PM, Exetrius said: This is grand! I really appreciate the time you took for this comment! It's great to hear several people mentioning how they enjoyed the video, as you notice that takes some effort so it's always a pleasure to find that people are getting something out of it. Yes, so much chaos! I often start building with set level stability guidelines in mind but they gradually fade and techniques become more and more sketchy as the build progresses. Just don't look at the front of the front row minifigures... those were hideous! (Now I wonder if they showed up at all in the video, I don't think they did. I didn't want anyone seeing them...)
