Posted November 29, 20213 yr It's been a long time coming, but i finally present my first ship moc, the Andromache. Equipped with a set of 7 sails and a broadside of nine 18 pounder cannons, the Andromache’s speed and maneuverability coupled with her firepower, makes her a dangerous opponent even for bigger ships. However in order to obtain such a high firepower while maintaining it's speed, compromises were made : The ship has very little cargo space which affects both her range and crew size. But that is of no concern to Scarver, as her main purpose will be to serve as escort or to hunt down enemy ships around Corrington Settlements. While sailing to Spudkirk the Andromache fell upon some rather unlucky Lotii raiders ---------- I'm very pleased with how the ship came out, it's based on the french Cutter "Le Cerf" from 1779. A special thanks @kurigan for pushing me in the right direction while building the ship She will be licenced as a Class 4.
November 30, 20213 yr Really like the lines of this ship, and that pic of the deck at the end, And you're very much making me wish that ice cream scoops came in trans-orange right now! If I've got one nitpick, it's be that the topsail looks quite tall to me (and consequently the entire mast looks a bit oversized), but other than that this is a really beautiful vessel and definitely hugely impressive for your first ship! Fantastic job, and I'm very much looking forward to more from you!
November 30, 20213 yr Very nice boat, the shaping of the hull looks really good, hope you could build it in real bricks one day.

Indeed it's been fun playing with different pieces in colors that don't exist (yet... hopefully) I think I've been looking at the ship for so long that I got used to the mast size, but now that you say it, I can't help but agree. 4 hours ago, Bodi said: Very nice boat, the shaping of the hull looks really good, hope you could build it in real bricks one day. I was hoping to do so, but sadly I don't think it'll happen anytime soon. However I intend to build a larger ship in the future which will most likely be the first ship I order pieces for.
November 30, 20213 yr Stunning ship - the lines are really beautiful! I appreciate the time taken to do the shot of the ship firing, it looks great!

Thank you very much! It's definetly my favorite picture I took, I was pleasantly surprised with the light reflections after the render.

December 1, 20213 yr Very beautiful ship! The hull, deck, masts and sails are well built. You have recreated the cutter Le Cerf very well.
December 1, 20213 yr What a nice cutter ! Wonderful build ! I like everything, the shape, the sails, the guns, the bell, the lantern, the hold trap. The broadside shot pic is awesome !
December 1, 20213 yr A beautiful looking ship! Do you intend to build her in real bricks too? Because I'm sure she would look even more impressive that way!
