Hello everyone! Let me introduce the finished version of the Concrete Pump machine. It has several differences from the orifinal vehicle so I/m not sure I can let myself to call this Putzmeister M70.

All photos: https://bricksafe.com/pages/Aleh/putzmeister-m70

Tractor truck is a Kenworth C500B:

- Full suspension

- 3 real driven axles by two XL Motors.

- Two steered axles at a different angle

- i6 engine

- openable hood and doors

- Pump for compressed air for operations with the boom the boom (L motor)

Trailer is a pump itself.
 - 3 rolling simple axles

- Two manual outriggers with 3 manual functions.

- 4-Section boom: two are operated by L motors independently and two other by the lego pneumatics.
- 2 Rear LED

Two Sbricks for managing the motors.

Spoiler

So it's been a while since a created something new, this doesn't mean I've abandoned Lego - simply it was nothing ready to publish, the MOC was designing in background. But due to the lack of time and ideas - the MOC is not finished yet and I have a lot of stoppers to solve before proceed.

So please welcome WIP of Putzmeister M 70-5: The world's biggest concrete pump. Real vehicle can be easily googled.

Mine is driven by Kenworth C500 B  truck. It has 10 x 6 wheel drive by 2 PF XL motors (I simply doesn't remember the reduction ratio because I built the truck's chassis several month ago, 4 wheel steering by PF Servo, openable doors, hood (I implemented very doubtable solution here, but I was tired and leave it 'as is' at it's final step).

One day fenders would be replaced on white ones. I need to order them together with some other parts for this MOC.

Truck has integrated double pump (PF L motor) to generate concrete air to operate the boom. Tubes are not connected yet, but the system is almost done - only switchers have to be installed either on the truck or on the trailer. Truck has no lights, but I'm considering to install some.

The headache is a trailer. It has 5 axles.  All should be steered in special angles as they are in the real vehicle, but I coudn't adjust this nightmare at a proper level and leaved only two rear axles steered (PF Servo) - I was rather satisfied of the result how it works on the floor. So other 3 axles and simple rollers: no steering, no brakes, no suspencion, no <put your idea here>.

Outriggers - instantly I understood it's over my mind to make them remote - no room for all these axles in the front. Rear outriggers  can be motorized, but there is no sense to leave two manual and two RC. They based on Liebherr Jeroen's LTM11200 ones - I took only what I could from the images/youtube.

And the boom - it should have 5 long sections, but to carry all this weight the superstructure should be very heavy. Don't know. Sections should be light and strong. But I can implement either light OR strong, not simultaneously...

Two functions are passed through the turnable - to raise first two sections. Other two will be raised using pneumo.

I hope I will keep work on this MOC this month.

Good good, this is massive!

At first I thought this would be a TC21 entry :D

Nice work! I recall seeing concrete pumps at work last summer and thinking it would be cool to see a Technic model of one, what with the huge number of boom joints. I look forward to seeing it finished!

You've definitely picked a tough challenge.  Forgetting all the other complexity, the booms on concrete pumps are so slender they are going to be extremely difficult to do in Lego and make them functional.  It certainly looks good so far though, it will be great to see what you can achieve.

Hi, a little Christmas update:
1280x960.jpeg

THe boom will have 4 sections, but I've shorten them almost twice - the boom became more robust and playable. Yet, a lot to do next year :)

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This is an interesting challenge. Well done for trying it.  Please be aware that air performance pumped to a cylinder from a manual pump closeby is totally different to a pump, manual or motorised and located on the chassis of the truck.  Also the weight of the hoses needs to be factored in.  It is not normally an issue but at these extremes it will be.  2022 will be a long year, so you have plenty of time to get this model refined:)

Hello guys. Today when my country is involved into the alien's war, it's hard to speak about lego or to build something, luckily this project was very close to finish and after minor updates I will publish it.

I hope I will publish both HQ images and video (I bough a new camera several month ago, yeah!) in case and only in case I will not have to escape my country!!

I have to add a counterweight to the concrete pump boom, which is absent in the real model because boom is too heavy to stay erased simply on LA without couterweight.
Also I did only two outriggers because they can cope with their tsk well enough, and secondly please read the reason in the introduction.
Any questions or recommendations about the model will be appreciated.
If you want to say something not abot the model - please use PM or spoiler.

Hi! Some photos wer added to the main post, enjoy!

I veeeery hope all curcicumces will let me start filming the fideo.

You definitely did a great job on this, although I can´t judge the creation´s quality from the trucks sphere too well. You definitely could improve your presentation, e.g. sharper pictures, more neutral background, more written info about the build or WIP. And a video would be great naturally!

Of course we all know politics are not welcome in the forum for a very good reason. Thank God we have a friendly oasis here and the matter of the subjects we usually talk about is the most innocent and neutral you can immagine for grown men and soldiers. You have my full understanding for the situation in your country. Coming from the former SU myself the events really bother me personally and honestly - they hinder my creativity very much too! If you don´t mind, please share something about your personal situation with me in a PM (I speak Russian too). Stay safe, my friend!

Thank you for keeping the politics out of the forum. I have removed the follow up post with politics and war discussion.

I made a quick video presentation. I used iPhone 12 Pro and filmed in 4K, but something went wrong. I hope you could enjoy.

Wow, impressive. Definitely a very challenging and ambitious project, but so far it looks very good. Cool to see all functions working properly in your YouTube video. Maybe you can try to use some rigid hoses as pneumatic tubes, like in Lego Technic 8868, this would improve the look of the concrete pump.

Oh, I didn't know about them even and don't own any. But thanks for the idea!

length and number of sections of the boom is quite impressive!

Thank you. Firstly I did a draft with more longer sections but understood instantly that they will require a powerfull superstructure with a heavy counterweight, which kiils the project. Sych geavy superstructure may be build only in the center of the chassis, obviously.

So great that you finished the model, looks great too and free instructions to boot, who could ask for more. Thank you very much.

Lol, 22 wheels later
