The group gathers back together on their way to Fix-It's workshop with Avgustus in tow. They quickly find the metal building at the edge of town, the dirt surrounding the abode littered with various pieces of junk from metal drums to broken down farming equipment. Most of the crowds that were seemingly present have died down, a few joyful looking people milling about the area with pieces of equipment in their hands. A grungy young dwarven woman approaches the heroes and the professor wearing a welding apron also covered in grease. She speaks loudly over the sounds of welding coming from the building.

"Welcome! Name's Meerabeau. Don't mind the mess, nothing in the lawn can hurt you. It might poke through your shoe, but... well... I can't help you there. I assume you're here to speak to Fix-It? He's been fairly busy today, but I'm certain he make room for you if need be."

Meerabeau turns to knock on the large sliding bay doors to the workshop, shouting into it. The welding stops as a figure steps out into the chilly storage area and towards the party, his large shaggy beard and unkempt hair draping over his overalls and plaid shirt. He grins at the party.

"Hoho! And who do we have here?" He laughs warmly as the tall O'Kor'Uk approaches the party, eyeing them over and taking them in.

"Well, the adamite's name is B-3-R... something."

"No need to worry yourself, Meerabeau." His deep yet kindly voice reassures the dwarf as he turns to the heroes. "Now then, who might you be? I am Mr. Fix-It, resident fixer upper of all manner of things. A pleasure to meet you."

The large metal block with a pink heart painted on it was likely a core for a large piloted robot. Although a more thorough overview could determine where it was made, it was likely from a decommissioned mech-suit used in freight yards and docks across the Arm.

Yelana Perception Check: (DC: 1): (4,5,6,6 +1 Success) Five Successes

Yelana thinks back to the image of Harrigan's wanted poster and the sight of the aggressive looking O'kor'uk present in it. Although this looks like him, his overall smile and pleasant demeanour betray the image of the grizzled, hardened pirate the image portrayed. From the metal plate on his forehead to his overall height and build, to his busted nose, Mr. Fix-It physically matches Gorthizar Harrigan to a tee.

"I beg your pardon, sir. Mr. Fix-It? I am Avgustus Leopold, Professor at the University of Ghintara." Avgustus speaks up as he bows respectfully, the weight of his bag clearly straining him. "If the young miss is also handing you something, I would request you look at this projector. The sooner the better."

"Hmm..." Fix-It opens the satchel and looks over the broken projector. "This can certainly be fixed... I do have quite a backlog-"

"Then let me expedite the process." Avgustus cuts Fix-It off as he reaches into his pant pocket and reveals a fine leather wallet, from which he produces 500 physical credits.

"Holy crap! That kind of money doesn't come easy!" Meerabeau's eyes widen like saucers as Avgustus forcibly places the money in Fix-It's hands.

"I... well, er... I don't believe I can accept such a generous offer-"

"You're going to accept it. I would not want to shortchange the most brilliant tinker on Aluriel." Fix-It looks at the money in his hands awkwardly, as if the physical cash was as revolting as it was tempting.

"Well... when you put it like-"

From a large heap of junk, a deafening clatter erupts as scrap metal and dented plastic clang in the air, breaking the awkward tension. It is at this point the heroes realize they're the only ones left in Fix-It's scrap yard, the rest of the crowd having left during their discussion.

"Do you have guard dogs around here? Something that could make that racket?"

"No, we don't." Meerabeau frowns. "We keep the scrap fairly well stacked." She eyes the perimeter of the yard, looking for movement. "Squirrels and other varmints tend to avoid our scrap yard. Nothing to eat, and nothing to nest in."

"Well, uh. . . what's on here is pretty compromising, you know? Just. . . make sure no one else sees it. . . ". As she slowly reaches for the datapad in her backpack, Avgustus cuts in front of her.

Bers glances over at Fix-It, drawing the massive Chain-Greatsword from his back, the magneto-locks disengaging and releasing the blade. Gripping the blade with one hand Bers reaches for the shotgun with his other.

"Query, would you like to borrow this shotgun sir?"

Bers attentively starts scanning the area - perception check

Bers glances over at Fix-It, drawing the massive Chain-Greatsword from his back, the magneto-locks disengaging and releasing the blade. Gripping the blade with one hand Bers reaches for the shotgun with his other.

"Query, would you like to borrow this shotgun sir?"

Bers attentively starts scanning the area - perception check

"A shotgun?!" Fix-It stammers out, hesitantly reaching out for the weapon. "I-I am not sure I should be handling such a deadly weapon.

"I am in agreement with Fix-It." Avgustus grabs the shotgun before the tinkerer can grab it, opening it and examining the breach before cocking the weapon. "Should anything make it to us, I have enough training to defend us. We shall head inside-"

"I shall not have you ruin the surprise for the children!" Fix-It demands, towering over Avgustus in an act of intimidation. The professor frowns.

"Fine. Is there some other place we can lay low?" Meerabeau points to the a small shack off the main building.

"The maintenance shed! We can head there and wait this out, if it is anything at all."

"You can never be too cautious, my dear." Avgustus turns to the heroes. "Right, Heroica, best you knock before opening the maintenance shed door. I'd hate to greet you with mouthful of lead. May the gods watch over you." Avgustus turns leads the tinker and his assistant towards the maintenance shed while the heroes prepare for whatever comes next.

Looking into the piles of scrap surrounding the metal workshop, the heroes can make out small shapes scrambling through the trash. The sounds of scampering feet and scraping iron echo through the yard. It becomes apparent quickly that with the heroes out in the open, they are ripe for an ambush. Moving towards a more advantageous position, the party prepares to confront whatever is skulking in the scrap. A screeching, siren-like sound erupts around them as ghoulish, deformed toys made of fur and metal emerge from the scrap heaps, their paws serrated into formidable weapons, and their voice boxes emitting a horrible static. Lurching out of the pile, an eight foot tall endo-skeleton shambles forward, it's hydraulic presses and rotting fur ripping from it as it opens its jaw filled with jagged metal teeth.

Yelana you some sort of sniper see if those "bear heads" are real. Bers you should move a little closer to them keeping you back twords the pile of "junk".

In Bers's split second decision making he figures he'll make short work of the two bears at the left side first. While he repositions himself and dashes towards them he shouts at his allies.

"Yelana, Polaris, M.I.L.E.S. I'll start with the two on the left, if you can take the 3 on the right for now?"
