The only issue with this is that Bionicle would be difficult to represent in a single set. 😕

Perhaps @Brick Clicker could weigh in, so that speculation does not get out-of-hand?

Apologies for the confusion on my post. This is what I was responding to for Bionicle.

I do not believe it's for the 90th anniversary (bionicle or space, etc.)

Happy to get back to discussing Avatar ;)

It's not Bionicle sadly, the theme most likely has the four sets for April and then a Brickheadz.

Ah thanks for confirmation!

This theme not involving Bionicle seemingly rules out a connection to the 90th Anniversary, but I find a new in-house theme launching with only four sets and a BrickHeadz to be rather odd. 🤔

Odd maybe

Magical might be a better word

Do you know something? @Brick Clicker said that the theme was unlicensed, so that rules out a Secrets of Dumbledore line (also, if that were the case, the sets would probably have 764xx numbers, as HP and FB sets have been grouped together before).

Could it have something to do with LEGO Mythica?

Interesting. . . 🤔
Mythica could work as a Mixels-style theme (considering the creature designs), but I am not sure where a BrickHeadz would fit in.

Yeah, this is totally off topic now. This discussion needs to go in Special Themes or General LEGO Discussion until we know what the theme is, and where it belongs. It definitely doesn't belong here in the Avatar topic, nor in Licensed at all.

Oh neat, does this confirm any other rumors by proxy? Who was the first one to leak this Avatar theme, I can't remember

@Hoth Rebel, I believe:

I've been out of LEGO leaks for a while, because I thought this was already known, but yes Avatar (James Cameron, not the Last Airbender) sets are coming in the second half of 2022. The same goes for an older theme which has a man who hates snakes.

I'm sure Falconfan can confirm this as well.

OK so in conclusion, we WIll be getting avatar 1/2 sets in the second half of 2022 or later, and what was rumored to be a wave of avatar sets in April is now an in-house new theme, this kind-of lines up but what doesnt make sense is the piece leaks, why are we getting piece leaks in February (that's when they were posted)for a product coming out in august (ish), i think that the original rumor with one wave in April and another in august made a lot more sense, conceptually, the leaks lined up, usually pieces leak 3 months before the product comes out, the piece leaking in February lined up with the april wave, but now the April wave is a new theme and were getting sets in august? it just doesnt make sense, the time from when the pieces leaked to when the product is coming out, ALSO the rumor of the theme came up in mid December(?), why would a theme that would be in the very early stages of development, set for august leak in December? it doesnt line up.

also wasn't mr.no, the first one to leak the theme, and he was later proved false.

anyways ignore this if you want im just happy that were getting sets, and if i got anything wrong or missed something, feel free to tell me

My guess is that the sets were delayed with the movie, so the prototypes ended up being made much earlier than usual

Well im extremely happy for the avatar sets being made, although I'm not sure how they will do it. Personally I think they made the bad guys too cool with all the tech and gunships, and I think lego may try to stray away from that and keep to the "good guys", considering the military hardware involved, but then again, those vehicles may end up being the main selling point. I really want the Samson V-2 helicopter, the most prominent vehicle from the movie and the AMP suit, and there was that crab suit mech that was revealed in concept art, plus some boats and a small submarine from film set pictures. This theme has a lot of potential, but I've seen a lot of negativity towards it about how it should have been indy or the last Airbender. lets give it a chance and see what they do with the theme.

[…] but what doesnt make sense is the piece leaks […]

Parts leaking unusually early is not unheard of. Just a few examples:

  • Trudgen’s head from The Rise of Skywalker leaked alongside some other Knights of Ren minifig parts, even though he was included in a Jan 2020 set rather than one released in Oct 2019
  • Same goes for the worm guy from Trolls, whose head also leaked 6 months before release
  • Korg’s headpiece was another early leak. It leaked in February while the set was released in August

Moreover, this is a prototype leak, not a finished piece

I'm imagining Elves-like dragons for the flying creatures and they have to do some of the military hardware for the humans.

Longer term, there are another four movies planned. So I guess between Avatar and SW, that is sci-fi covered until at least 2029.

Robots/mechs like the villains have in Avatar are Lego's bread and butter, I doubt they could resist lol
