Do we know for sure if the 500€ set is, well, an actual, new set?

Or could it be a bundle of sets kind of what they did with the Mario theme?

Like that'd explain why we know literally nothing about it.

…you do realise it has a normal set number, right?  Why would there be rumours for a multi-pack? And who on Earth would buy a $500 multi-pack?!

Maybe the $500 set is No Way Home after all… they know that everyone will want a movie-accurate No Way Home set so they made a super expensive one haha

Virtually impossible. As the Razor Crest proves, they are able to fast-track certain things like the Grogu minifig, but a $500 model that takes years to develop is definitely not among them :snicker:

A 500€ No Way Home set would be a terrible business choice.

I don’t know what they could even make as a $500 NWH set. I think a big Statue of Liberty battle set is a no-brainer and inevitable for whenever they do more NWH sets (probably next year), but certainly not for that price.

In my mind, I don’t see this $500 set being anything besides Avengers Tower or maybe a Helicarrier remake. This seems like it’s the only possible Lego Marvel/Avengers tenth anniversary set at this point and with how, with the exception of a few sets, this year has largely been lackluster for Lego Marvel (especially in comparison to last year), they’re going to need a real crowd pleaser. There’s also not really any other Marvel sets that they could realistically do for that price in my eyes.

Speaking of The Avengers, I just rewatched the first movie last night and I would really like some remakes of sets from that film.

The only way I could see a $500 Spider-man: NWH set ever working would be if the set was just the Statue Of Liberty in a style similar to the upcoming '10307: The Eiffel Tower'. In which the main focus of the set would be on giving people an accurate Statue of Liberty - but even then it'd make no sense to latch the Marvel license onto that.

I think if we do eventually get a NWH wave, it'd be three sets along the lines of the following:

Spoiler

Set 1: Same price as 76184 Spider-Man vs. Mysterio's Drone Attack
Inspired by the Bridge Battle, Includes a Car build.

  • Iron Spider Suit (Repeat)
  • Doctor Strange (Repeat)
  • Doc Ock (New dual sided face, one side with glasses. Torso Print Only)

Set 2: Same price as 76205 Gargantos Showdown
Inspired by the forest battle, three figures, tree and small electric generator build. Electro would be based on the final battle.

  • Inside Out Suit (Repeat)
  • Sandman (New Torso Only)
  • Electro (New Torso Only)

Set 3: Same price as 76216 Iron Man Armory, similar design to 75997 Ant-Man and the Wasp
Inspired by final battle, seven figures, Statue Of Liberty head/shoulder build, scaffolding & Goblin Glider

  • Andrew (Full Print, same leg print as Tobey just in a different shade, CMF Spider-man style)
  • Tobey (Full Print, same leg print as Andrew just in a different shade, CMF Spider-man style)
  • Upgraded Suit (Repeat)
  • MJ (Repeat)
  • Ned Leeds (Torso Print only)
  • Lizard (New face print similar to Korg in design. Torso Print Only)
  • Goblin (New dual sided face, one side with goggles. New Torso, Leg & Arms printed. Includes hood piece & hair piece)

Is the armory actually out? My local store said it doesn't come out til July, but lego.com says it's already out. I only ask because I haven't seen it anywhere and it hasn't hit bricklink.

I saw while shopping earlier (England). Was very tempted, but I'm gonna wait until the price drops

Exactly! Like I want Lego Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina as much as the next guy, but having the Statue of Liberty fight makes no sense.

I dont mean to condescend anyone, but doing that scene means thet either make the statue too small/use the construction site (making it extremely boring as a set) or they make a giant statue (at which point its just a creator set that happens to have spiderman on it).

I know we all want to get all the minifigures, but I'd rather getting a cooler/more interesting location even if its not very accurate tbh

I disagree. I wouldn't like it, because I'd want Toby and Andrew to be available for cheaper, but as a business decision it sounds smart. Look at the death star, that sold so well that the set was available for 8 years, than a further 5 or so after a minor update. And it was mainly geared towards kids, so you aren't going to get the entire market of UCS buyers. No Way Home, right now, has a cultural impact equal to or even greater than SW. And it'll fade, of course, but it'll be, to quote Morbius, "one of the movies of all time". I really think a $500 No Way Home set of the final battle, kitted out with all the spideys, villains, etc, would do pretty well. That's not to say a $250-300 one wouldn't be a better choice, but the $500 set would still be a pretty good idea.

Of course, it's all hypothetical, as there's no way in hell this is a No Way Home set.

Nah, it's a terrible choice.

Everyone would buy a No Way Home set, and I mean everyone. Kids, teens, adults. It would fit every age range.

But the thing is, it would have to be affordable, so that everyone can actually buy it.

Not a lot of people can afford to buy a 500€ Marvel set, and not to mention a lot of them would buy it no matter what it actually is.

I was thinking of this guy on Instagram, "codyleaks" ... when he started publishing his stuff I thought it was yet another fake.  But looking back at his page, in fact, everything he said came true.  and he said the 500 is Avenger Tower 🤔

Didn‘t he also say the Harry Potter D2C set would be Gringotts?  Granted, some of the stuff he claimed turned out to be true, but it could either have been lucky guesses or he had a source with semi-accurate intel. Either way, not trusting anything he said

I don't see anything about Gringotts.  Maybe he canceled the megablocks…

“megablocks”??! 🤣🤣

I don't think it is. If you're going to make a $500 marvel set, I'd say No Way Home/the liberty parlance is the best possible thing to do for it besides maybe avengers tower. "it's really popular, so therefore the set has to be cheap to sell" makes no sense. Of course not everyone can afford a $500 marvel set. can't afford a $500 marvel set. (Or a $300 one for that matter...I'll get you someday, bugle), at least not right away. Which is also part of the point. This is something, that just like that death star set, kids would save up for for years to buy. It would be THE spider-man set in a way that the bugle isn't, because it wouldn't just be based off one of the most popular fictional characters of all time but one of the most popular films of all time. I guarantee you a $500 liberty parlance would sell well not just for the first few months but for years, well past the time they'd typically retire a set, again just like that death star. I'm not saying that they should only make one NWH set, and that the single set must be $500. But if a mrvel set was to be $500, the most logical thing to base it on would be one of the most popular films of all time (Hence why this one is likely the tower).

Codyleaks is fake. He deletes posts that were proven false to appear more legitimate, but he's fake.

For a little while he piggybacked off a small retailer, giving him the pyramid set (I think the only one that he was the "first to report"), but he gets so many things wrong it's laughable.

He didn't say that.

(reference to an American Psycho meme, for those who haven't seen that gag before)

I will continue to bet against the Avengers Tower. I know patterns aren't always reliable, but I don't believe we have ever had a theme with two minifig scale sets more than 250$, especially two that have relatively similar uses, even while being quite different. And an Avengers Tower that isn't modular would be a massive misstep for lego, while a modular one would compete with the Sanctum--I know I probably wouldn't be able to get both. I don't really know, it just seems like it won't happen.

Sanctum releases in August. The leak we have of the Avatar set are product images, which is probably because they are going to be featured in an associated press release or released shortly after Lego Con, hence being uploaded to a retailer (In this case Walmart)

The Sanctum could leak if it's product images are uploaded to retail/Lego Shop for pre-order OR finds its way from an associated press release - however Lego will probably want to keep a lot of these big reveals under wraps for the event otherwise nobody would tune in.

Avatar sets release in October tho. And both are planned to be officially revealed at LEGO CON.
