So for Marvel CMF 2 I think we are definitely getting minifigs from Hawkeye, Moon Knight, She-Hulk and Ms Marvel. So if we get 3 figs from each show, there's no more space for leftover figures from 2021 shows like Agatha, Zemo or Strange Supreme. With these many shows, we need to get back to 16 figures series now, 12 just isn't enough.

if the rumors are true they will be Raimi 20th anniversary sets/pseudo tie-ins to NWH

It's not a fact that small sets will be associated with MCU Spider-Man

I don’t think it has to be associated or atleast a direct tie-in with NWH.

The idea is honoring it’s anniversary at the same time riding the hype, giving the fans what they want and somehow make it loosely based on characters that is in NWH. That way they can bring back the characters without including them in the rumored big NWH spoiler set.

Well, there may not be 3 for each. Last series only had 2 from F&WS and LOKI. As much as I’d like them to go back up to 16, I don’t think they will.

I think Echo would be a definite inclusion given that she appeared in Hawkeye and she's got her own show coming up too (Probably close to 2023).

I think from LEGO's pov that'd be a good reason to skip her now and save her for when her show comes out :shrug_oh_well:

Makes more sense to be a celebration of 10th anniversary of Lego MCU sets, 10th anniversary of the first Avengers film and 60th anniversary of Spider-man and other characters which would be more guaranteed to sell and could be a way of including a variety of characters as opposed to specific characters from the Disney+ shows who are already showing up elsewhere or scheduled to show up elsewhere. With Wolverine in a comic-inspired set I would not be surprised if we get other X-Men in comic form this year also.

I would not be surprised if it winds up something like this:

Originally I was thinking they would simply remake or re-do the previous Raimi sets, but now that I think about it, it makes more sense to encourage people to 'collect all three' for the final battle experience. It'd also make it easier to market the smaller sets as 'Spider-man Vs Green Goblin' or 'Spider-man Vs Lizard' and just have it be Tobey and Andrew respectively without the hassle of different names. To those unfamiliar with the prior films they could claim it is 'inspired by NWH'.

I like it, but I doubt the Spiderman vs Lizard. Specially being a big figure… He’s gotta be on the biggest set if he is gonna be a big fig.

Which is unfortunate because that means we might not Agatha either.

something tells me they will make him brick built, about the same size as stepponwolfe from the largest JL set

If the rumor about us getting four CMFs a year now is true, then I think that’s the final nail in the coffin for more than 12 figures in a series. 4 series comprised of 12 figures gives us the same amount of minifigures as the 3 series of 16 that we used to get each year.

As for the Lizard discussion, I honestly think he could just be a minifigure, that’s just me though. As for these speculative sets themselves, I could see the hypothetical Statue of Liberty set being more like the version from the trailers that “hid” Andrew and Tobey, including only Tom, and saving the other two Spideys for the smaller sets.

A CMF series 2 this year :) such good news! This means we'll defenitely get all those cool new suits done justice, like Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Kate etc.
I can't wait for it. The collectability of the first CMF was so nice, I found myself going back to the toy shop regularly to try and get the characters I wanted. With all these cool shows coming out and the probability of What If being excluded this time around, I may just want the whole wave!

Indeed. What if? S1 was enjoyable, but 5 slots in the CMF series in addition to the two sets it got was just overkill  If it isn’t featured this time, we may finally see some of the desirable characters we were missing out on last time!

My issue with the What If...? figures wasn't necessarily how many there were but which characters they chose. Gamora could've easily been in the Sakaarbuster set and those 2 What If... Zombies? figures were just completely and utterly irrelevant to the show as a whole.

Keeping the same amount of figures the perfect lineup for What If...? would've been:
- Hydra Stomper / Captain Carter (stealth), Steve, Red Skull
- Sakaarbuster / Tony, Gamora, Watcher
- CMF / Captain Carter, T'Challa Star-Lord, Strange Supreme, Party Thor, Infinity Ultron

Definitely. It would have bssn better if we got those primary characters that it actually make sense in the story. Essential.

Why does everyone think that it automatically means it will include Disney+ characters?

Because if you look at the amount of sets LEGO produces for this theme there's just not a whole lot of room for any D+ shows to be covered and the chances of LEGO skipping these shows are highly unlikely. Further, Series 1 was a hit so LEGO knows a Marvel D+ series can sell really well.

While these three would have been preferable, I still want Agatha, Zemo, and Mobius more than any of them

It would honestly be surprising if it doesn't at least cover the D+ shows in part. Seeing as there isn't another possibility in the near future to cover such a large array of different characters in bulk. A CMF series accompanying these shows is genius I think.

In somewhat related film news, as it has a high chance to impact potential Lego set releases and the slate for Phase 4 in 2022;

Spoiler

  • Ms.Marvel is scheduled to go into extensive pretty substantial reshoots in about two weeks and is likely to be pushed back to a late 2022
  • Secret Invasion and Ms.Marvel were supposed to tie into Captain Marvel 2, this likely means that Secret Invasion will either take the place of Ms.Marvel in mid 2022 OR will be delayed to 2023.
  • Black Panther 2 is probably getting delayed to 2023 as the main actress has not turned up for filming, which means they may have extensive reshoots to compensate for no longer having the main actress for filming.
  • Captain Marvel 2, due to delays of Ms.Marvel, potential delays of Black Panther 2 and the potential delays of Secret Invasion could now be pushed back further into 2023

In general what this means is that we may wind up with delays of the Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, Ms.Marvel and Secret Invasion associated Lego things.

Takes a while to approve another series, unless they had S2 planned from the start. It's also tricky as a lot of the shows are getting pushed back which could mean a similar situation to the 'What If Iron Man' set where we get a representation of a figure that does not show up in the associated media released that year.

I did not see any rumour about what they were meant to be at the time, just the release date. I still feel it makes more sense to skip a lot of the Disney+ characters to adapt them at a later date when they are more relevant.

In terms of a Disney+ line-up, most likely seems to be:

  1. Hawkeye (Printed arms, torso and legs, bow piece included along with holster)
  2. Kate Bishop (Printed arms, torso and legs, bow piece included along with holster)
  3. Echo (Printed Torso and Legs)
  4. Moon Knight (Full print, similar style to WVision, New Hood piece)
  5. Moon Knight Supporting Character (Leg and Torso print)
  6. She-Hulk (Torso and dual molded printed legs)
  7. Bruce Banner (Leg and Torso Print)
  8. Ms.Marvel (Either the Halloween costume with helmet, dual molded printed arms/legs OR the later outfit with torso and dual molded printed legs and a scarf)
  9. Red Dagger (Torso and leg print, red scarf and dual face print)
  10. Nick Fury (Torso and Leg print, bearded facial print without eye patch)
  11. Talos (Torso, Leg and Arm print, improved Skrull head piece that can be re-used for Captain Marvel 2 sets)
  12. Strange Supreme (Torso, Dual molded legs and arms, printed cloth cape and cloth waist piece)

Notes:

  • Echo is getting a spin-off eventually, but was introduced early enough to be give to Lego in concept art. I cannot see Lego missing this as her character was deaf.
  • Strange Supreme had relevance in the What If series and is in Doctor Strange 2, so makes sense to throw in here if he is not included in a later Doctor Strange 2 inspired set.
  • Agatha is not relevant currently but is having a series in 2023/2024 so makes more sense to include her later in a potential CMF3 or CMF4
  • Ronin is the most obvious in need of a figure, but we have not seen the Infinity War Accessory pack so he might be included in that.

Having Ronin in the upcoming accessory pack would be fantastic, I always thought the hood mould used for the Time Twins for Ninjago in 2017 would be perfect.

I really hope What-If takes less prominence for Disney+ related sets and CMFs moving forward. Lots of cool ideas in the show but it clogged up quite a bit in terms of Lego content last year.

Now that you bring this into the conversation, when is this gonna be released? Aside from it potentially being Ronin, I have high hopes for Iron Patriot V2. It would work as an exclusive figure in accesory pack too.

I think the accessory pack will:

Iron Patriot V2, Ronin (or Hawkeye or another minifigure), Nebula and Chitauri. Construction: a fragment of the Avengers Base

Pretty sure the IG Leakers said it was somewhere within the first half of this year :sweet:
