thebricksbear Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 10 years from now I'll be heartbroken when my Shuma Gorath's (i wont be humoring this Gargantos nonsense) ball joints break and fall apart, but for now this illegal connection was basically ignored by most people. It really is a great set. Quote

It really is a great set. Haha it doesn’t bother me much either right now (and any gaps it causes I cover using the front mouth tentacles). But it is a shame that it exists. Haven’t seen any fixes online either except for one saying to put some round 1x1 circular/corner tiles on the studs of the 1x2 ball joint instead of studs. Not sure that would fully fix it though. The best fix would be using this piece instead of the current 1x2 female ball joint connector and combining it if Lego made a female connector version of this piece which I feel won’t likely happen. thebricksbear Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 Honestly the variety of ball joint pieces is shockingly sparse for how common they are used in Lego's current "mech meta." These pieces still only exist in grey, SMH. Quote

LegendaryArticuno Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 This is a really good fix for the design flaw, and if I remember correctly the extra pieces in the set made up a good number of the needed spare parts. No reason to have a set that's breaking itself apart when there's a pretty easy fix available! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loK76reY3yE Quote

It‘s a 1x2 plate with mini ball joints on both sides And it comes in black! Edited December 19, 2022 by BrickBob Studpants Quote

Shame they introduce this piece now but then remove knee and arm joints while increasing price. Quote

I'm not doubting that there's color/strength variation (Old dark red and reddish brown, BIONICLE LIME JOINTS), but I refuse to believe that the greys are the only colors they can possibly do it for, or that they couldn't solve the issue if they did some R and D. And c'mon, you can't even give us the other color of grey? There's been like, one set that uses the sockets in DBG, and other than that it's always sockets in LBG, balls in DBG. And it's not like the different colors for different axle lengths, where it definately could get confusing, a 6 year old should be able to tell a ball joint from a socket. They are the opposite shape. 11 hours ago, hvader said: Lol it’s as if the set has an expiration date. 10 years later, the set just breaks and explodes into pieces by itself... curse spell 8 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: You‘ll be happy to hear then that there‘s a new ball joint piece in the 2023 mechs. It's like they went "Hey, we have a moderately successful gimmick line. Can't let that happen." Same way that we get, like, one microfighter a year now, but at least the one we do get is fine. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 (edited) Interesting. They provide two copies of all the stickers, even the ones that aren‘t SHIELD- or Avengers-specific Also, the printing on Cap‘s head is really good! They seem to have FINALLY fixed that issue Edited December 19, 2022 by BrickBob Studpants Quote

Glad they finally fixed the face printing... it took how many damn years? Maybe Spiderman can finally also get good arm printing that matches the torso colour. Quote

Before it was deathly pale, Batman and Cap had medium nougat skin, in which case we could start it in 2012, making it over a decade. 2 hours ago, PGBQW said: It's uncanny how good it looks. I can't think of any other puns, the only other ones I remember are Jangbricks and BrickBrosUK, and BrickBrosUK disappeared years ago. EDIT: And I refuse to make a MandR pun. We just need the skin tone Mercy has in that pic to represent people like me: Poles who need to touch grass. 21 minutes ago, PGBQW said: I think a bunch of guys like us should team up and do some good puns. Intriguing. I think I'm gonna finally pull the trigger on the compound. The price (not the value, it's good value, I just haven't bought a more expensive marvel set in awhile) put me off for a bit, but it's close to retirement and the Endgame climax with Thanos and the Big Three is too good to pass up. Scarilian Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Has anyone done any revamps of the Hulkbuster (76210) yet? @Ransom Fern If not I may wind up attempting it as seen it be released for around 25% off I'm sure the pricing will go lower, but it's easier to justify at a lower price and I've already stocked up on dark red pieces and two nano gauntlets for additional parts. I'm hoping when bigfigs return that they'll revisit Thanos, they have to eventually right? He's the main villain of Phases 1-3 so I'd expect him to pop-up again somewhere. I'm good with my other versions of the big three for the moment. 1 minute ago, PGBQW said: Not to mention it includes the last bigfig ever made before they were canceled until the end of times! Personally I'm still going with the idea that the transition to the new bigfig mold used for Thanos and probably intended for other bigfigs was delayed or cancelled due to some mixture of sales/production issues/concerns over amount of plastic resulting in them avoiding bigfigs for a while. Hopefully we get a bigfig this year to end the curse, maybe Hulk, but if not I'm going with that as headcanon to explain the lack of bigfigs. Quote
hikouki Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 I wonder if we will ever see a CMF series for classic Marvel characters? I would really like to see the comic versions of Thor and Iron Man! And perhaps some X-men that have not been made. Quote

The Infinity War version is the most iconic, and was a huge miss in 2018. now that the bald head is here I hope it's only a matter of time... Hulk MUST come this year. I don't want to consider lego leaving us with half the 2012 team ☹️ Quote
