I would also love a set line.  The important thing is to get all 8!  The d2c speech is dangerous, nothing guarantees a new modular and I'm afraid of a new bust or something similar… so if I had to choose between a safe statue of liberty and an unknown one, I would choose the statue 😄 I also wonder if we will have so many buildable objects too this year, I think 1 a year is more than enough 😒

Black Panther bust was definitely an overkill, and from what we know it did not sell well at all, but surely all the other helmets sell very well, since we're getting them fourth year in a row.

That's intriguing.

Sorry, the word intriguing is now a morbius reference due to it's inclusion in the hit 2022 film "morbius", so your comment, whether intended or not, is now a morbius joke.

I do hope we get NWH sets next year, is it possible for them to appear around August?

1.5 years out seems like it'd be enough development time for anything below a massive D2C. August seems reasonable.

I'm 99.9% sure the helmets are a hit among adults who aren't generally lego fans. My evidence is simply that they appear to sell well yet most people here don't like them.

I really liked the Iron Man helmet.  I haven't bought venom and carnage but I'm at peace with them, they don't have the wasted opportunity taste like a big bad set.  Do we know the development times of a D2C to say that August would be too early?  the jazz club designer said 6 months for a modular

Still disappointed we never got a Spider-man head bust, been holding off hoping for the Spider-man bust.

Probably the only ones left for 1HY (unless The Marvels set releases in May).

We have 76246, 76249, 76250 ($70), 76251 ($80) and 76252 that are most likely 1HY sets - which are listed on Promobricks. There's also at least two superhero polybags planned, one of which we know to be Marvel related.

Wouldnt it be cool if Lego did the Funko idea and released a wave of NWH sets that’s each a scene from the final battle, and they can combine into the giant statue of liberty?

Could kinda see it happening, but it'd be something like Sandman & Electro with Scaffolding, Green Goblin and Doc Ock with Statue, Lizard with the portal and lab.

a set with scaffolding alone is hard to contextualize, plus a system set would contain too small a statue.. we had a thanos microfighter ship, but we didn't need to put 8 minifigures on it.. i'm afraid without d2c we won't see the statue (no playable statue) it would be easier to distribute the characters in different contexts: battle on the bridge, battle between the light poles, laboratory, etc.

Distributing the characters across multiple smaller sets would be my ideal scenario. For me the draw of getting any No Way Home sets is ultimately all about the characters rather than the builds. It would be great to get them in the most cost effective way possible.

The Statue of Liberty would make a fantastic display piece but I would rather see it done as an Icons set based on the real thing like the Eiffel Tower. Its not something I would want to pay big money for in the Marvel line, especially over locations that are more exclusively tied to the world of superheroes like Avengers Tower or the X-Mansion.

More unknown things

not the marvels set

Unknown as in, you know something else is coming but cannot confirm what it is just yet?

Or as in, you know *something's* comming but you do not know what?

In any case, and just for the sake of argument, let's say we do get Lego NWH.

I genuinely do not care how the sets look like, I just need a Doc Cock figure and I need it now, as much as I dislike the movie I think they perfected his design. I'm also extremely curious about how Lego would do the tentacles this time (not very well I reckon)

@wesker Completely agree. A D2C Statue of Liberty Battle would look great, but why price out the majority of your potential buyers when smaller sets would have just as much appeal with much more accessibility?

I think having 2-3 sets progressively going up to the £100/£120 pricepoint would hit the sweet spot. Really the bridge battle, apartment fight, and Statue of Liberty showdown are the only scenes I can imagine Lego drawing from. Plus that also leaves plenty of room for other sets too for 2HY.

My ideal wave would be the electro battle, the bridge battle and the final battle, with the different villains spread across including 2 different versions of goblin and electro. Either way, I hope we get all the important characters and get it soon.

Sure, but we have no idea when they'll release. Usually they save another big wave that's not a tie-in for June, unless we're getting helmets in May or April.

How long are the current NWH sets likely to be available? I’m considering getting them in case some characters don’t appear in a possible future wave

I have one of the Star Wars helmets(Boba Fett) but they definitely aren't something I'm interested in collecting. I love Marvel but the only "helmet" set I would actually get is if they made a Ghost Rider "helmet" set someday.

Marvel Modular? More comic sets? What If Season 2 sets? X-Men 97 sets? There are polybags to reveal too. NWH sets tho doubtful

Modular 100%. We've gotten a modular in mid-year for the past 2 years and both have (supposedly) sold very well. With the Quinjet in the January Wave, I would not throw the idea of a Avengers Tower Modular out of contention. When you consider that we had 3x $250+ sets this past year and that sets are planned 1-3 years in advance, it's pretty likely that something similar could go on in 2023.

And it doesn't seem like a whole lot of budget is going to DC (as of right now)

I think we will get an avengers tower, but after the bugle is retired.  I don't think lego would put two big gray marvel buildings in stores at the same time.  One subject that will receive a d2c, in my opinion, is the hall of armor/tony's house.  the release of the small “incomplete” sets always made me think of the Star Wars Cantina, and we know how that turned out…

I don't see why that would be an issue. The design of Avengers/Stark Tower is still drastically different enough from the Daily Bugle that the two can co-exist together and having it based around the Avengers films only helps set it apart further. To write them both off is like saying we can't have the Boutique Hotel and Sanctum Sanctorum the same year because the colors are too similar despite the builds being very different.

A big draw for the modular buildings is also the ability to combine them together to build a larger city which is why its better to release the tower while the Bugle and Sanctum are still available due to their compatibility with one another. A stand alone location like Tony's Mansion can be done as a D2C but it doesn't really fit under the modular building format.

I hope we see more sets similar to the iron man helmet, hammer and gauntlets. I own the helmet, hammer and gold gauntlet with the smaller red one on my wishlist.

The original plans of the new modular were changed precisely because of the bugle 😄 I'm not saying it can't happen, I'm saying that in my opinion it won't happen.  but that's a good sign because I never guess, so I'm increasing the chances!  armor room wouldn't be modular, but it was a casual thought about possible d2cs, I like to fly with my imagination

Merry Christmas to all

Too bad half of Marvel's budget is going to pay Lego so they don't make any DC sets!

Anyway, I'll slip out of character for a few lines to wish y'all a merry christmas, hannukah, or whatever you celebrate in this date! Ho-ho-ho!

Ayo what? I have not heard about this before.

Also, concur with the above two to wish you all Merry Christmas!

The Bugle being too similar to a hypothetical Avengers' Tower (or any other gray tower for that matter) is sort of a moot point anyway because the Bugle should be retiring sometime in mid-2023, right? Unless it's different since it's a D2C, most sets hit EoL after 2 years, and the Bugle released in May or June depending on the country. I hadn't really thought about that until now, but I guess the Bugle getting towards the end of it's life does potentially open up some room for other Marvel D2Cs of a similar nature.
