HatBricks Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 That's too cruel, I completely forgot that's tomorrow. Guess we'll have to wait longer. I hope people at least come up with some creative ideas for what the 500 dollar set is going to be tomorrow. Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 That‘s cheating, you don’t telegraph April Fools pranks like that Quote
BusterNut31 Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 (edited) yeah I am also in NO mood for April fools jokes tomorrow regarding news or leaks. Edited March 31, 2022 by BusterNut31 Quote
Ghostcat Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 Im honestly going to be very surprised if the $500 naming soon will be anything but stark tower. Like honestly could it a bigger helicarrier? Or Avengers Tower? like sure a liberty set makes sense eventually but not this soon or at this price point. Unless they go really all out on the scale of the thing but its a location thats once and done. Atleast the Helic and Towers are in multiple movies and shows. Quote

PsychoBuilder Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 I don't have very long to talk, but my current bet right now is that it's not the Avengers Tower, or even minifig scale, but something weird like the Hogwarts Icons Collection, maybe such as a giant Iron Man statue. Quote

I highly doubt they‘d release a small buildable Iron Man, a Hulkbuster D2C set, and a $500 Iron Man statue all in the same year Quote

But I will still be betting against the tower because I really do not think they'll release two modulars in the same theme, in the same city, in the same year. Or perhaps, a giant buildable Ant Man. Yes, yeeeeeesssss..... more Ant Man. Quote

BusterNut31 Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 a $500 price tag would have to be something that's very desirable and profitable so having just one character won't make much sense. Iron Man is popular but the MCU has now been around long enough for fans to have other favourites. Quote

At $500, they kinda have to play it safe. That‘s not really the ideal price point for whacky, experimental ideas, is it Quote
NXS7 Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 (edited) Marvel Icons Brick built versions of Loki's Sceptre, Caps shield, the Nano Gauntlet, Hulks taco, Star Lords helmet, Eye of Agamotto, Tony's glasses and more with gold minifigs of the original 6 Avengers September 1st release Edited April 1, 2022 by Quicksilver838 Quote
SEmrys Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Hulk's Tacos? Tbh, if true, I'm not broken up about it not being Avengers Tower. I'd love it some day, but for now, my wallet will be happy it's getting a break post-Sanctum. Quote

HatBricks Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 (edited) The idea of a "Marvel Icons" set doesn't seem super ridiculous (though strange that Thor's hammer was a separate set). It could even be pretty cool if it's build like a sculpture similar to the Harry potter one. But given what day it is today and the "Hulk Taco's" and Tony Stark Glasses (as a one for one of the Harry Potter set), I'm very skeptical of this. Edited April 1, 2022 by HatBricks Quote
BusterNut31 Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 oh well...there goes that idea. I think the idea is cute and the HP set is great but im not onboard with it. Oh well the sanctum is still my fave set of the year. Quote
NeutralNoodle Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 If that’s true at least I don’t have to spend $500 on a Marvel set this year Quote
thebricksbear Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 The number of people taking it seriously is kind of funny The fact that Lego would include a plain megablocks taco in the set is reason enough This is the company that wouldn't even put the meme rat in the Endgame set... Quote
BusterNut31 Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 well whether its true or not is not up to us. We are at the mercy of leakers that we trust. I think people leak false things (even as a joke) should be removed from this forum. It is a rumour after all. let's see what happens. Quote

Scarilian Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 The idea of Hulk's Taco's make this, or at least that part of it, a likely April Fools. I could not find a single positive comment about the set anywhere it was reported. If it's real it feels like a massive mistep to have the selection they have and not seperately selling these. If real, easy pass. Will put the money towards the Hulkbuster Quote
