BlueberryWaffles Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Please don't tell me a rumor dropped on April 1st about Hulk's tacos being a set was being taken seriously... Quote

The issue is, her comic costume is maybe a bit risqué for lego, and her netflix costume, while something they'd probably rather make in terms of the actual design, has the disadvantage of coming directly from an 18+ show. If they had to do an 18+ set just to get comic versions of DD and Punisher, I don't think we'll see Electra unless she shows up in a newly pg-13 daredevil season 4/soft reboot. Spoiler To bad they wasted the electra revived arc on defenders, immediately after she dies too. Even then I'm worried we won't see anything for daredevil himself resembling his film suit. Say season 4/reboot is pg-13/tv-14/whatever. Lego might be too cautious about having that suit show up in a set due to the previous seasons being R/TV-MA. You guys didn't really believe in Hulk's tacos being a set, did you? I get that it wasn't the only thing in the set, but still, that was pretty clearly fake. Quote

I honestly though the tacos was the kind of joke that Lego would include. The Hp one had foot items and what food is really that iconic in the MCU apart from Scwarma? Quote

I mean we got Slave Leia and Oola (a literal victim of human trafficking in extremely revealing clothing) over at Star Wars. I also don’t want to get reprimanded for using crude language but even Slave Leia with a whip to her neck had some clear connotations. That wasn’t too long ago either that was 2012 and 2013 respectively. If Lego felt comfortable enough to produce that they would surely produce an Elektra figure. Plus the mermaids of PotC had shells on their chest, nothing else, would that not be just as crude? I feel her obscurity paired with the fact that she is most known for her affiliation with Daredevil/Kingpin/the hand played a bigger role in why we haven’t gotten her. She may be lumped into the “too dark for main sets needs to be released in an 18+ set” to be produced category (think Punisher/Blade). But unlike the former 2 she wouldn’t be done justice without a new mold likely, considering her hair texture is usually not as thick as the fortune tellers and the cost of producing a new mold for a one off character in an 18+ set probably got her sidelined. There's no necessity for a lego marvel icons set to include food items, lol. 8 hours ago, cosmic said: I mean we got Slave Leia and Oola (a literal victim of human trafficking in extremely revealing clothing) over at Star Wars. Yeah, that was 9 years ago, and if you haven't noticed, we haven't had those figures since then. Lego's become a lot more "kid friendly" in that respect nowadays, they're not going to make another Oola. They might have made one around 2012, but like you said, she's obscure. I maintain that the only hope for an electra figure is if she's revived in a newly pg-13 daredevil, and even then it wouldn't be a gurantee. Quote
Classic_Spaceman Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 (edited) Elektra's costumes are really not any more revealing than Wonder Woman's classic ones are, and LEGO has no problem making her. Additionally, due to the space limitations of Minifigs' legs, the amount of "skin" shown between her red boots, thigh-stripes, and loincloth would probably end up being less than is on most Wonder Woman Minifigs. As for her hair, I actually think that the CMF Fortune Teller piece would be fine, since Elektra's hair is typically depicted as long and flowing, however straight (in modern versions, at least). I mean Star Wars juggles producing content for 9 “core” movies, the occasional animated series, and spin off movies (Rogue One, Solo) along with Disney plus shows and its own original content (freemakers). Not to turn this into a Star Wars discussion but Marvel typically handled a few movies a year, with the occasional comic/cartoon wave. It isn’t until recently the Disney plus shows were added to the mix that we started juggling a bit more content, and even then it usually took the place of comic/cartoon content. We haven’t gotten Sebulba since 2011, or Mon Mothma since 2010. Neither because of how “mature” they are. Star Wars just juggles more content than super heroes and thats why several characters take ages to revisit. I think Elektra is being saved for an 18+ set but because they’d either have to print her bandana on the series 12 spooky girl hair, or use the fortune tellers mold (I still think it’s a bit too thick and short), they understand there‘s going to be disappointment with whatever choice of reused parts they give her, but also unlikely to produce a new mold considering 18+ sets tend to be expensive. She was probably just inconvenient to make and as you said we’ll likely get her when she’s in something more prominent at the time, but I don’t think her costumer is the issue. Plus March Harriet over at DC has a much more risqué costume but they covered her figure up a bit, who’s to say they wouldn’t with her? And as @Classic_Spaceman puts it, to save space on the legs they’d probably cover her up a bit regardless. I think it’s her hair that’s making her hard to produce tbh. The LEGO Marvel Super Heroes game has a design for Elektra's costume that is basically what I envisioned (though I only just saw the game design!): Quote
PsychoBuilder Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 The thought has suddenly occurred to me--do we have any confirmation that the final Sanctum figure is not just America Chavez again? It seems like there's a good chance they will just put her in there instead of some character that is a huge deal in terms of the multiverse, plus she already has a figure. Quote

I guess the information is based on preliminary images. If it were America they would have used his minifigure for preliminary images, and anyone who has seen them would have no doubts. However I hope that the set is complementary to Gargantos, without repetitions 🤞 ps. also this week goes away without updates 🙇🏻♂️ Quote

Legocentrico Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 I prefer new characters (like everyone else, I think) but I can accept a variant 😇 go Promobricks, we know you read the forum, tomorrow we go back to work, improve our Sunday 🤪 Quote
thebricksbear Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Are there any good SHIELD troops? The only one Ive found is from a random Ultinate Spiderman set, and it was a single figure so hunting them down wont be cheap. Quote
EggBoi Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 I doubt LEGO would ever make sets based on Mature-Rated comics. Why do you think we've never gotten anything about Watchmen from DC? Quote
