Hi everyone, been a while since I've posted here but has anyone received the percy Weasley book without the actual percy Weasley figure itself.

All of these DK books are released as minifig-less versions too, probably mostly for libraries and daycare centers :classic: Must‘ve been a mix-up. I haven‘t dealt with Amazon customer service before, but I‘m sure they can send you the proper version (unless you accidentally ordered the minifig-less version with the wrong picture)

For what it's worth, I ordered the variant of the book with the minifigure and I did receive that variant of the book with the minifigure. Also from Amazon. Specifically the Dutch version of Amazon if that matters.

Not sure if this has been posted before but Stonewars has posted the piece counts and I'm not sure that 30651 probably polybag was known about?

Only odd looking one is the Black Lake, same number of pieces as the Slytherin Banner but ten euro more. I'm guessing that's due to the Grindylow mold.

The piece count for the Deathly Hallows set is so good compared to all the others.

I really can't wait for this set, it's gonna be incredible.

Eh, that happens sometimes.

For example the two Wakanda Forever sets both have the exact same piece count of 355 pieces, even tho one of them costs 15€ more.

Exactly. PPR isn‘t an exact science since not every part is equally expensive to produce. You can‘t compare a 1x1 stud with a baseplate or a complex dual-moulded part  In the example you provided, the bigger set has a lot more large pieces plus an additional minifig, so it makes sense for it to have a lower PPR. Jang‘s „volume of stuff“ is a better metric I‘d say :classic:

So I think @Seaber is right, the new Grindylow part(s) must account for that, plus maybe some other new parts (fingers crossed for a new shark head!!)

Oooo… piece counts are fun for speculation.

The polybag is interesting. 55 pieces is significantly more than the 2018-2021 ones (the 2018 one with the fiddly brick built owl cage was 40 and the other two were 31), but significantly less than this year’s Hogwarts castle (67). It’s also definitely low enough that it must include a Minifigure, so either looking at a very generous Minifigure scale build or a another microbuild+minifig set up like this year.

The house banner piece counts are very intriguing. We don’t know exactly what they’ll entail yet so we’re sort of in the dark on subject matter, but I think it’s interesting that Gryffindor is noticeably lower than the others at 285, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff only have an 8 piece difference and both come in slightly over 300, and Slytherin has a whopping 349. That’s a very similar spread to that between the largest and smallest Moments sets (including this year’s), which might support the idea that we’re looking at a similar format. At the same time, all but the Gryffindor Banner have higher piece counts than any of the Moments books, so it looks like we won’t have a large portion of the budget eaten up by custom printed panels.

The Room of Hidden Things and Lake Task sets are about what I’d expect. The Lake Task set clearly has a lower PPP ratio because of new molds for the Grindylow (and hopefully shark Krum and the merperson as well).

Wait there wil be Lake Seond Task set?! If so, darn about time….

Yup.

Wooden observation tower with an underwater location. Harry, Krum, Ron, Hermione, a Merperson, and a Grindylow are included.

45€ with 349 pieces, releasing March 1st.

Just wanted to note down some pure speculation for next summer:

I think it's possible we'll see two D2C's with the theme performing so well and people, on the most part, loving the D2C's.

I would guess Gringotts for sure as everything is pointing to us getting it next year but as the second one I think a UCS Knight Bus would work for the theme really well. The new design lead has worked on many of the previous Creator Expert cars so it seems a perfect match for us to see a set like that under the new influence of the design team.

We could end up with something totally different but just wanted to put my thoughts out there before any rumours surface!

Who is the new design lead again, I may have seen it before, but getting old and forgetful

Not a bad idea, but I’d prefer them to stick to one D2C a year (perhaps with a break here and there, like in 2019). The list of potential D2C sets is rather short compared to Star Wars or Marvel / DC, so they’d burn through it rather quickly if they increased the pace

Repeats (and extremely niche out-there ideas) notwithstanding, this is pretty much it:

  • UCS Flying Ford Anglia
  • UCS Knight Bus
  • Gringotts / DA expansion
  • Quidditch pitch

Oh, well, there would be also the set that anyone in this thread want to see .

Thousands of smelly bricks and a big quote: Master has given Dobby a sock. Master has presented Dobby with clothes. Dobby is free.

On the topic of possible D2Cs, I'd actually like to see a collection of founders' objects done as individual D2Cs or one big one like the Hogwarts Icons set. The biggest issue would be doing a life-sized Gryffindor's Sword in LEGO, but if they'll do life-sized busts, I don't think anything is off the table anymore. Ravenclaw's Diadem might be a bit difficult to design since it's so delicate, but the Cup and Locket seem like no-brainers to me.

I think we could also see the Durmstrang Ship as a $250-300 D2C eventually since pirate ships are popular. I also wouldn't disregard the possibility of a minifigure-scale Burrow, Privet Drive, or even Grimmauld Place and the Ministry of Magic depending on how long the theme lasts.

I hope we get Gringotts next year, but I've been expecting it for two years now and I'm tired of waiting. It would be weird to release a companion set to a D2C that came out 3 years ago. Our only similar situations are modular buildings and Ninjago City. To be fair, the Gardens did come out 3.5 years after the Docks, but I'm not sure if LEGO would do that again. I hope they do but I'm going to prepare myself for a UCS Knight Bus or Ford Anglia in the meantime.

Agreed, I think these banners are a continuation/reboot of the moments books. Hopefully with lots of nice stickers still and more new variants of characters.

I have a few other random thoughts on these:

I always wondered why the books were called ‘moments’ rather than ‘lessons’, or ‘classes’ etc…maybe they had ambitions for a long line of these expending into non-lesson scenes? Tom Riddle’s CoS Memory for example, or the missing PS challenges?

The house banners might be a soft reboot of the books in response to customer feedback…. Lego is always listening and adapts/changes course form each year to the next.

These sets are slightly larger part count than the moments books but I wonder if the increased price also covers 4 figures rather than 3? (Wishful thinking)

If they are student/teacher sets then here are some of my ideas:

Ravenclaw: Lockheart (gold cloak), Hermione, Neville, Ravenclaw student, 2 pixies.

Gryffindor: Lupin, Harry, Padma, Dementor, clown in the box

Slytherin: Slughorn, Shamus, Pansy, Slytherin student. New print for Felix potion.

Hufflepuff: (scratching my head now), Sprout (DH appearance),  Ernie Macmillan, Ron, Hufflepuff student. A better Devils snare, venomous tentacula.

Sadly I suspect the increased price is down to increased prices for all lego sets in general rather than an additional Minifigure from the moments books.

As for how the banners might have been adjusted from the moments book format enough to warrant a change in name, I can’t help but wonder if we’ll get some sort of option for wall mounting. Banners are meant to be hung up after all.

It’s worth noting that the moments books never had any house affiliation in the set names. Sure the Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, and Herbology Moments sets were all softly themed after the head of house that was teaching the class, but ultimately they were depicting classes shown in the movies before anything else - hence Seamus in Potions and Neville in Herbology (two Gryffindor characters who were used for comic relief in those scenes in the movies). In fact, the original moments sets not really being as heavily house themed as they could have been has been a common nit pick I’ve seen, and I suspect one of the reasons so many people express interest in house common room versions of the moments sets is because it would force lego to strictly stick to that house’s students in each set, as opposed to loading everything up with more Gryffindors. Just going by the set names it certainly looks promising, seeing as the house names are all front and center. I think it’s also significant that the ‘moments’ monicker has been dropped - for all that certain adjustments were made for the format, at the end of the day each moments set depicted a specific scene from the movies, which is presumably why they were called moments. Dropping that word in favor of naming the sets after the objects they presumably collapse into, like the Hogwarts Magical Trunk, hopefully indicates that we’ll be seeing subject matter that isn’t a specific representation of a movie scene. After all, the biggest hurdle for us getting all the house common rooms in lego form has always been the fact that half of them never appeared in the movies, but they have all made appearances in various video games, and lego has been doing more and more video game material recently, including a Star Wars set. I don’t think we’ll be getting Hogwarts Mystery or Hogwarts Legacy exclusive characters or locations any time soon, but a couple of highly demanded locations like the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff common rooms that many fan favorite movie/book characters absolutely inhabited despite the movies not having time to show it, that’s something that lego could sell.

Of course everything is just speculation and guesswork until we get more official information.

I mirror the sentiments of almost everyone in these yearly topics, I've read it religiously the last few years.

I am excited at the possibility that the banners have more useful pieces to build up whatever structure they have. The moments had really useful interiors but the covers were not worth the price for me. As a fan of expanding my castle footprint I gutted them, gave them facsimile pages and just displayed them with the real books. Even with the sort of structure like the custom trunk set, at least those are smaller, more normal building pieces.

I echo the sense or vision of unfolding wall mounted things. I could see them being a few studs deep, mostly focused on a printed banner crest with really shallow dioramas inside. Dunno, could be worse.

I didn't have any delusions that the new line will be in the 2021 modular style like the bathroom or the GWP dorm, though that would have been the best. They seem to really waffle between appeasing collectors and doing whatever they want whether they think it will sell to kids or not. The absence of Hufflepuff moments torsos used to be the most baffling completionist nightmare until the missing Epilogue figures (much more unforgivable). Now with Percy finally existing and getting a custom torso I am slowly switching off from using them as later year Prefect uniforms anyway. :sadnew:

I assume we're all still expecting figures based on years 1-2 with a smattering of 3? Especially with the two big sets of the wave being later films?

Forgot to add: what sort of mutation shall we expect to give collectors and fans of accuracy a pause? I'm consulting my crystal ball and it says the students will have a giant house crest printed in the middle of their uniform.

Bruh. I can’t even begin to express my feelings right now. Let this be the hour, when we draw swords together!

Uh, this is Wizarding World thread, not LotR. You should post that in “lego lotr returning?” Thread or something like that.

Plus, I have no clue about LotRt theme’s comeback.

Is that polybag very new?

It just came out this year, but it’s not particularly new, and I could have sworn I’d seen European AFOLs saying they’d gotten it, but I’m not necessarily good at keeping track of these things. It’s worth noting that the Lego Store only really distributes these kinds of polybags through promotions - we’ve never actually been able to buy them at retail from the Lego Store. Typically, you can only actually buy them from third party retailers, usually big box stores (I’ve only ever seen them at Target here in the US, and I think Walmart carries them as well). Obviously, the exact stores vary from country to country, so you really need to ask people familiar with your area about it if you want to track them down.

Hi guys, one question for discussion. Let's say that next year will be 500 gringots. If so, I doubt it will be connected to the diagon alley.

Every one ask about the bank from DH with dragon etc. But the most important scenes are from the dungeon. So if they want to include these, they need to add the dungeon tu structure and after that it will not work.

So r u rdy image that gringotts will not fit into the old DA?
