Textorix Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Yeah but there is no chance for entire wave of FB sets imo... one maybe two sets, but that's it 7 hours ago, Flaming Bricks said: Also I hope we get an updated Shrieking Shack with a new grim piece and a werewolf Lupin. I'm mixed on the idea of Lego continuing to use the 2021 20th Anniversary style Hogwarts system in 2022. I hope we get minimum of Hogwarts sets and more non Hogwarts locations (everything except the castle). Shieking Shack is my absolute most wanted set as I love that scene, and POA is my favourite HP movie. Quote

My money's on the $50 creature and the $90 retail exclusive. May be a bit pessimistic but I feel that the sensible thing to do would be to wait and see what SoD's reception is like and react accordingly. Think the majority of people will be waiting for this movie with bated breath and a dash of hopeful optimism (I certainly am). Quote

Mr No Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 (edited) From what I read, the entire future of the FB franchise depends on the Secrets of Dumbledore success at the box office, 4 and 5 might not happen if it flops. Now, I am still surprised WB aren't doing HP9 but that would probably kill the FB franchise. Edited February 3, 2022 by Mr No Quote

I also hate it and I think no one wants it, even though Columbus said he would do Harry Potter 9, he said he would either adapt CC or do an original story. And an original story, that's the way to go, it's not like the movies need more books to adapt. Quote

CC is canon to the books, so doing a sequel film that completely ignores it is would cause a huge rift I would like it personally and most fans probably wouldn‘t mind either, given how disliked CC appears to be Quote

CC is in this weird realm where it features both book-exclusive details and film-exclusive details, to where logically it can't be canon to either. Quote

I mean they did just release Avengers Endgame sets last year, which I know is not the same. Personally I wish they would do something to celebrate SoD, as I like the general setup of the prequels just thought CoG was a weak film that lost its way a bit. But loved the potential and I'm generally optimistic they'll get the story back on track having had so long to do so. Still vaguely holding out hope for Nagini and Young Dumbledore minifigs one day. Also slightly off topic but my two pence on Cursed Child; it's not canon if you simply refuse to acknowledge its existence But seriously, even if it is canon, it's retrospective because the books and films were done before it released, so it doesn't have any impact on the original story whatsoever. Flaming Bricks Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 I doubt that we're getting any Deathly Hallows sets this year, considering Lego's stance on the matter, so what sets do you think they'll release this year? The March sets are based around The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet of Fire, so will the summer sets follow this trend? When will Lego ever do any Deathly Hallows Lego sets? Didn't they originally release some DH sets with the release of the films in 2011? Lego could just brand DH sets under the 18+ line of sets, so that they'll be marketed towards adults over kids Gringotts is a dream set of mine, especially now that we've gotten Diagon Alley (Maybe it's the $470 D2C set coming later this year?) Quote
Flaming Bricks Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Do you think Lego will release the Lego Harry Potter CMF Series 3 in 2023? If so, what 12 minifigures do you think will appear? Harry, Ron, and Hermione are practically a given, but maybe we could get new variants of them? Quote
Mr No Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 You know, if Lego don't do any SoD sets I don't see the point of the Wizarding World branding. FB still made a lot of cash and it has potential for sets, atleast a new Newt would be welcome. Quote

If Lego just wants to make Harry Potter sets, then brand the theme under Lego Harry Potter. The Wizarding World branding includes Fantastic Beasts, so SoD sets should still be on the table. I understand that FB isn't as popular as HP, but it still made enough money to justify making Lego products off of it. I would love a new Newt minifigure at least, a young Dumbledore would also be amazing, since the movie is called The Secrets of Dumbledore If Lego did a Harry Potter CMF Series 3, here are some ideas 1. Harry 2. Ron 3. Hermione 4. Kreacher 5. Bill Weasley 6. Rita Skeeter 7. Sirus Black (casual) 8. Narcissa Malfoy Fantasic Beasts 9. Young Dumbledore 10. Theseus Scamander 11. Leta Lestrange 12. Grindelwald (SoD) Quote

An AC with Luna and Neville in would probably sell a few extra units too. Think between us we could create a couple of Hogsmeade AC sets. There is hope yet!!! Personally I'm just disassembling all my harry potter sets for moving house, so interesting seeing the little details you don't take notice of when the sets are up. For instance forgot about the sticker of the Weasleys in Egypt that comes with the Burrow. So cute!! Whatever comes of the wave this year I hope we continue to get such lovely finishing touches. Good luck with the move! So how about a OotP Hogsmeade set in 2023 (Lego, are you listening? Because this year we are obviously getting the Shrieking Shack, Right? Right?) with the Hog's Head and Madam Puddifoot's. One of the convenient things about the Hogsmeade sets is how neatly they slot into people's Christmas displays, even for those who aren't fans of the HP franchise. There's nothing too overtly Hogwarts-y about them. Minifigs - Harry, Cho, Aberforth, Madam Puddifoot (as I believe she's uncast, they can make her a POC and further help increase the gender and racial diversity count in one) and then either two students from the DA or another couple from the tea shop, or throw Neville and Luna in there or the AC or divide them up. (Or give us the Thestral carriage with Luna, whichever.) The AC could be Harry and Hermione and Ron, one or two other students (Neville / Luna) and one or two street vendors. I think one of the things they may have done wrong on the 2020 Yule Ball set was to include three figs in the exact same form as they appeared in that year's "Christmas set" as we used to think of them in our household. The Clock Tower was a bigger ticket item we'd have been likely to receive for Christmas or perhaps a birthday, and having fully half the AC's minifigs as dupes you'd get at the same time might not have been the best strategic choice, which is a pity as it was otherwise such a strong selection. Include a couple of Hog's Head benches in the AC, another seating group from each of that year's Hogsmeade shops so the sets extend beyond their footprint, a couple of outdoor vendors' stands and as @Xenophilius suggests, a few accessories. Because I agree, all the little details they add make such a difference. If selected judiciously, they could allow us to convert a second set of Hogsmeade or Hogsmeade II shops into different stores, which could boost sales of both. (Or the additional tables would allow the register to be removed from a second set and complete the build with a front and back for those that rather.) An owl, letters and signage for the owl post would do a good job of transforming one of the shops we have with few extra pieces. A bench table can easily be converted into an owls' roost, one register is much the same as another... Swapping details between the two would give all four more distinct looks. A few different coloured quills, scrolls, parchment and ink pots and we can convert the other store into a Scrivenshaft's, and we'd never pry Hermione out of there again. (The witch and wizard from 2021's AP could staff them.) Why not help fans MOC or use the AC to more readily enable alt builds, sort of like we get for the 3 in 1's? Quote

Slytherin Alumni Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 It was about this time last year, so news could drop any day now I know the general assumptions are PoA/GoF this year, but as they haven't said for sure, I'm hoping for PoA/GoF/OotP. That would leave HBP/DH for next year. MoM, Grimmauld place and Bill/Fleur wedding sets are on my most wanted list + a Shrieking Shack remake and all the Hogwarts ghosts. Does anyone think we will ever get all of the Hogwarts ghosts? I think they would include all the ghosts if they ever did a minifig scale Hogwarts. I hope they do one day, although it would be really pricey and probably release in several parts. Imagine the $469 set this year releasing as: Hogwarts minifig scale part 1 Quote

Maybe the Advent Calendar will be based off of the Grimmauld place Christmas scene? I have high hopes for Deathly Hallows sets in the future, but I'm not sure when or if Lego will release them. We've gotten Nearly Headless Nick, Moaning Myrtle doesn't really count as one of the house ghosts, but I would love to see the other 3 Hogwarts ghosts appear in future Hogwarts expansions. I'm not sure if I want the $469 set to be more Hogwarts, because we get so many Hogwarts sets every year as it is, but that's just my opinion. I would love to see Gringotts (I know I fall under the majority, but I'm not sure if that's what Lego has in store, hopefully it's not more buildable icons like what we got last year). Quote
BacktoBricks Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Hey guys Still waiting for those leaked descriptions. I've been thinking about it and what do you think about the advent calendar maybe being COS based? I'm thinking this purely on the pixies only currently being available in an expensive set, but thinking that Lego would likely want to make the most out of that new mould. From some conversations I've had with mums, kids want multiples of those little critters and I can't help but think they would make a good AC draw. Or they could do it OOTP based and do a book crossover by also including pixies, but seeing as the calendars usually contain figs previously exclusive to a more expensive set from the past year I'm not sure if that will happen.
