This could be little more than a glorified cameo though, so not necessarily something set-worthy

I doubt he would have been announced in the casting if it was only a cameo for Zod and Faora, I think that would have been kept a secret.

So...do you guys think we might get anniversary sets? Would they be remakes?

I also wonder if TLBM oversaturated the market with Batman sets, time passed since then, I hope Lego will do a lot of new villains for the Batman line and hopefully other DC properties.

Is it just me...or DC isn't that popular here? Which is sad because I love it..

It isn't, because there literally aren't any DC sets even rumoured for next year.

People don't have anything to discuss, just speculate, which isn't as interesting as discussing set rumours and leaks.

Not entirely true, there’s something rumoured with Klarion and the odd renewal of the Batman Beyond ™️. There are rumours, they’re just well, tenuous. Honestly if there were things to be talking about, I would be.

On the Batman Beyond rumour, I wonder if it will be only the jet from the show or it will be multiple sets. Batman Beyond could be great for Lego to do more of their original designs for Bat vehicles and some cool buildings. If we get Flash sets I guess the Keaton Batcave will be a set (since it will be different from Pattinson one and that's not even a cave).

I want to see the Wayne tower from The Batman, Matt Reeves said Bruce lives in the Wayne Tower because the manor became an orphanage (that burned). Perhaps that could inspire Lego for future sets.

As I've pointed out in the 2021 thread, the Batman Beyond trademark blurb was already there last October, if not longer. There aren't enough snapshots of the site on the wayback machine to pinpoint when it was added :shrug_oh_well: It's definitely intriguing, but not exactly what I would call a rumour

Well, I don't see why that trademark would be there if they wouldn't use it.

I really hope we get a good summer for DC this year. Because the designers said they release content for both marvel and dc based on the movie releases.

And DC has a lot for this year, both movies and tv and videogames:

-The Batman

-Black Adam

-The Flash

-Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (first one made $1 billion)

And for tv:

-Batman Caped Crusader CN show

-Superman CN show

And videogames:

-Gotham Knights

-Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League (well, minifig tie ins)

-A Wonder Woman game in the works

Lots of content.

They aren't really rumours, this is still just speculation.

Batman Beyond trademark indicates nothing. It's been there for over a year.

Klarion is speculation based on the fact that he was included in the description of the encyclopedia. It's not an actual rumour.

Rumours are based on something not yet proven to be true. There’s a rumour about Klarion, but we can only speculate on what it is because nothing has been disclosed. Ditto BB. I can speculate that Klarion could come in a set with Etrigan. I’ve nothing to base that on other than the rumour that he’s coming. I can also speculate that the rumoured £500 set will be Arkham. That’s how those two words work.

Exactly. "I've heard that person X said that Klarion is coming in a set" is a rumour. "I think Klarion is coming because he's mentioned in a book description" is not a rumour, it's speculation (which could then be turned into a false rumour, but that's beside the point). Those terms are not interchangeable

Can we get this thread renamed to "Rumors, Discussion & Grammar Check"?

I'd like more Superman and Justice League sets, but neither of those brands seem too strong at the moment. At least not strong enough for LEGO the way they gobble up and spit out pop culture IPs these days. My hope is always that even if we can't get sets without movies, the movies turn into a motivation for LEGO to produce more comic and cartoon based sets. The 2020 line-up with WW84, the Bat-Semi, Penguin Ducky, and Dentures of Doom is retiring so they will need *some* versions of comic Batman on the line, you'd think. Maybe they'll want comic book Superman and Wonder Woman on shelves in some form too since they have projects on the air/in the works. At the very least it would make sense to release some more comic-based Batman sets with more colorful versions of some of the movie characters, as they have been doing with Spider-Man. Maybe not the most exciting thing in the world, but maybe it means new Catwoman and Riddler figures? And a random out of nowhere team-up with Etrigan and/or Zatanna to fight Klarion, perhaps....

One vehicle I am surprised we have never had is a Bat-monster truck. Spider-Man has had two monster trucks in the last few years, and he can't even drive! Spider-Man seems to be filling LEGO's "useless superhero vehicle" niche. Far be it from me to ask for more bat-vehicles when we have had almost nothing else the last several years, but that is about the only vehicle I can think of not based on a show/movie/game that I'd get excited about...well, maybe that and a Batwing outfitted for space travel. The Batblade from the 06 Batcave was also pretty cool and never got a real remake--how about a Batmobile with skis for battling some ice-themed rogues? Maybe we could finally get that Snowman figure--the speculated secret 18th villain from LEGO Batman: The Videogame no one ever asks for.

Spider-Man's line-up for next year looks like Juniors and a few movie tie-ins. Maybe that will free up Batman for the useless vehicle superhero niche later in the year. Again, maybe not very exciting but better than no Batman or DC at all in my opinion. :shrug_oh_well:

Nah, "Rumours, Discussion, & Semantics"

Have we finally reached the point with this theme where we're actually rooting for Batman monster trucks? Things have gotten more desperate than I thought :laugh_hard: Slate of upcoming DC films, please save us!

If only the leakers would give us a bone..

Also, just speculating for 2023...Blue Beetle will get a theatrical only release so maybe we get a new minifig.

That's speculation based on a certain fact.

When the blurb for the character encyclopaedia first mentioned him it was speculated that he would be the included figure, much like it was speculated that the figure would be Guy Gardner. When it became apparent that the figure with the book was not Klarion but will in fact be Val-Zod, a rumour soon started that he (Klarion) would instead appear in a set. It’s even made it as far as the opening comment on this thread, where 2022 sets are/will be listed. It wasn’t speculated, it was rumoured, hence my comment that sparked various haughty responses. The rumour might not have originated on this message board, but it existed nonetheless. Hereafter, I will continue to speculate about the rumoured upcoming set with Klarion in it, until such a time as when the rumour can be proven or disproven.

In essence I’ve heard he’s coming in a set, rather than I think he’s coming in a set, as per your definition here. It might have been a false rumour to start with, but it was a rumour all the same.

Not really.

We thought Klarion would come in this encyclopedia. When it was revealed that he didn't, people stared speculating that he'd be coming in another set.

A rumour would be "I heard from X that Klarion is coming in a set." Saying "Klarion wasn't included in the enclyopedia, so he must be included in another set down the line" is speculation.

No one heard anything. There is no rumour. We just assumed he must come in another set since he was mentioned in the encyclopedia.

An Etrigan minifig would be cool...just saying

Heck, Axl's body from NK should be remolded for Etrigan and all he needs is a hairpiece mold or headmold.

I saw what amounts to a rumour somewhere on social media, that’s the thing. Subsequently I saw people speculating about it and it’s existence. Just because you haven’t seen something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.  Repeating what Brickbob said doesn’t change what I saw. The most ridiculous thing about this argument is that it is just a rumour, and by definition might not even be true. You’re getting wound up about something that you can’t prove happened and ultimately might not even come to fruition. Stamp your feet all you want, I don’t care, but you don’t get to tell me what I have or haven’t seen on the internet like you’re the keeper of the rumours. It’s no wonder fan communities are seen as toxic.

There is a new Lego DC Super Heroes book coming in 2022, it includes Batgirl minifig. Also, the cover features Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Bumblebee.

Fair enough :classic: The reason I was harping on the distinction is because it wouldn’t be the first time people take something that was discussed here on EB, run with it and turn it into a false rumour on IG

Did the rumour you saw specify anything else beyond Klarion showing up? I really hope we get some DC stuff in 2HY as 1HY is a barren wasteland (apart from the sets based on The Batman that is)

Hahaha ah man, call it desperation but I’ve been rooting for a Batman vs Swamp Thing with a Bat monster truck and buzz saws on the front of it since day one! That would be AMAZING.

You’re not wrong, though, we get pretty desperate in the DC thread when there aren’t really any rumors going on. :laugh_hard:
