Robert8 Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Well, I hope this is WB/DC realizing they have to step up their game after The Batman Quote
mgetz Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 (edited) I really do think that DCEU is heading in a new direction that is good, and if this new era of the DCEU is received well maybe lego will in turn invest more sets to the theme. Personally I think each movie should get 1 set minimum (black adam, shazam, flash, aquaman, batgirl, blue beetle). I would love The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker minifigures but I do not really see that happening. The Batman was definitely not kid friendly, and lego made 3 sets and polybag based off the movie so I do not see why they couldn't potentially make Peacemaker figures or even The Suicide Squad figures and just call it something like "the squad" to make it family friendly. Side Note: Idk I feel like DC came out swinging back in 2012 and then started falling off around 2019 and really took a backset in 2020 and 2021 with of course a few great sets as exceptions. So I think our only hope for this theme is this new era of the DCEU, hopefully it catches on or else this thread should be renamed Lego Batman 2022 rumors and discussion lol thats my two cents have a great week everyone! TurinTheGreat Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Apparently Black Adam needs reshoots so that's why they delayed everything. It seems they want to focus on the quality of each film, which is good. That say, a delayed game is better. Quote

That is an excellent point! We should pay very close attention to set numbers that suddenly disappear 9 hours ago, TurinTheGreat said: Shazam 2 was originally set for 2023, not its december 2022. Maybe we might get 1 set for it? Very unlikely. If sets were even planned in the first place, they‘d now have to fast-track them. Don‘t think there‘s ever been a case where a film got preponed along with its sets Quote
Lionbear8 Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Question remains when will we know if there is any more DC sets going to release this year? Can an official Lego employee let us know! Please no comments from any Marvel fan boys, my heart can't take it anymore! Quote

Not to mention Birds of Prey, Joker, Shazam!, Aquaman and Wonder Woman. All of them were very successful, one way or the other. Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Lmao, so it turns out none of the Super Heroes set numbers were for DC. Not a single one. Quote

TurinTheGreat Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 So, we only got 3 The Batman sets??? I guess we can say DC is cancelled as a theme. I hate Zack Snyder so much, he killed DC with his fanbase of drones... Quote
TurinTheGreat Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Do you guys think Lego knew the films will get delayed and the sets numbers didn't leak because they were already delayed? I just cannot believe it that Lego didn't intend to make atleast a set for The Flash thst had 2 Batmen, or Aquaman that made 1 billion... Super dissapointed to know the fate of DC... Quote

Every year I see fans on this website say the same thing yet we still saw sets for The Batman. I am not going to pretend the DC theme is thriving because it ain't but if every Batmobile set is sold out and keeps on selling out, LEGO isn't going to ignore it forever. Quote

Rather than blaming a man who made the films that he was asked to make - let’s face it, Warner knew what sort of visionary they were hiring through 300 and Watchmen - and who’s daughter’s death led to his departure from and Joss Whedon’s subsequent destruction of JL, your ire would be better suited aimed at Warner for their consistent mismanagement of DC property and the lack of coherent creative control. They are the ones who overreacted to the explosion of the MCU and fast tracked the big team up. This is the company that totally screwed the pooch with Jonah Hex and bodged Green Lantern way before Snyder turned up for work. Quote

TurinTheGreat Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 The Lego DC character encyclopedia has The Batman minifigs with 2021 year of release to no ones surprise of course, it makes you wonder if 2022 had any DC sets if it weren't for The Batman... Quote

They were released 1st November 2021 in America so 2021 is technically true Quote

In the Marvel chat Scarilian posted that the list had been updated (not sure if there were under DC before or not included in any list). Its possible to be as you say. Promobricks are generally accurate but they have made mistakes in the past though generally minor ones. They'll be DC sets this year at some point but it'll be a couple at most. Still got to believe there will be at least least one 10th Anniversary of the theme set for DC and Marvel Quote

They don't do things like this for no reason. Quote
RedHoodPug Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 2 hours ago, TurinTheGreat said: Yet we got THE BATMAN. Jonah Hex is an obscure character to most people, the director was better suited to family animated films and the lead actor disowned it. Green Lantern, while more known than Hex is still not a household name. The director was making progressively worse films on his way to GL, and the lead actor memorably killed himself off in another film because of it. Batman is the character keeping DC afloat, and not just in Lego. The director has gone from strength to strength, and the lead actor is proud of his role. A better comparison for The Batman would be Man of Steel, by Zack Snyder. Quote
CoolDudeRadman Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Crazy how DC would release a trailer for all the upcoming films along with the Batman being released and then just push the films out 5-6 months a week later. Side note, anyone know if we’re still getting that book that originally teased Klarion in the description? Quote
