Yeah I'm glad it's not over, although the money it creates I'm not surprised, and look at other universal franchises like fast and furious, they have been milked dry haha. But the ball is in LEGOs court whether or not the theme continues, let's stay hopeful. Even if there isn't a 2023 theme, they might just stick to releasing sets alongside the movies, hopefully it isn't like that because I would love a small wave of Jurassic Lego sets each year, 2016 and 2017 were boring haha. They have so much to do, especially for the original trilogy, which is practically untouched.

I doubt Lego would pass on the chance to release JP sets with the anniversary, also last time I saw JW was on the best selling themes of Lego right now with HP and Mario.

I ws aware about live-action series for a while. But it’s just uncertain it would look like after 2023 for Lego to produce JW sets. I mean, Harry Potter and Star Wars themes are evergreen licensed themes. 

There are still missing dinosaurs we wish for, such as osausrus (probalby lay unlikely), Parasaurlophus, Stegosaurus, Pachycertops, Brachiosaurus (definitely not likely unless Lego woul produce a baby Brachiosaurus), and a few more. Right now, we don’t know anything about 2022 wave this year at the moment. Hopefully set names wll turn up soon.

If JW didn’t sell we wouldn't get a wave every year since FK.

I‘m still wondering why they didn‘t release any sets between JW and FK  What changed? Did the FK sets sell so much better than the JW wave? Or is it a symptom of a broader paradigm shift, because 2018 seems to be the year where TLG decided to abandon the tried-and-tested approach of mostly releasing sets in the vicinity of new theatrical releases (see Harry Potter or the recent Marvel Infinity Saga sets).

Or maybe I‘m overthinking things and the recent sets have just been more appealing to kids than the initial JW sets

I actually think the leadership at Lego changed during that time, didn't it? You might be onto something, usually on movie years merch sells the best but HP and JW are proved to sell without movies.

Of course there will be more movies, the last two have made billions. I hope they just correct the course with Camp Cretaceous because the 4th season was bad, and the ending was even worse.

I think what happened is Jurassic World was the biggest movie ever (not counting inflation). That probably caught LEGO off guard so they needed a year to make new sets so that's why there is a gap.

I’m not convinced about the change of leadership at TLG…

I think there was a new direction in JW theme - I think Lego Jurassic Wordl: the Secret Exhsibition was released in 2018 and then later Legend of Numblar series was released in 2019. It may explain why we had some sets asekd off LoN series after FK.

Yeah I believe I saw a bunch of speed champion sets revealed on #legoleaks on Instagram, so I guess those are what you're talking about, if so the consistency in quality with so many individual pictures makes it seem like they were revealed by Lego so maybe next month if I were to guess

Edit: I just checked Instagram and it turns out it's a bunch of random sets not just speed Champions haha

I saw a couple Jurassic World dominion Imaginext figures, namely the Giganotosaurus (dimetrodon included with it aswell) and Therizinosaurus. Do you think Lego would be able to reuse the triceratops body? I mean, it couldn't look too weird right? Mainly the tail that'd look strange. But idk, no evidence that Lego is making a therizinosaurus so I suppose it doesn't matter.

There is nothing we can discuss about - this imagenxit or whatever it is has nothing to do with Lego right now.

But, personally, i think Triceratops body won’t look that weird tho (except for that tail)!

Yeah just that the Imaginext figure reveal things that I saw made me wonder how Lego could make therizinosaurus.

Yeah I mean, I suppose if they are going to mass produce a body piece for a new species they might as well just make a new one so its tail is more accurate, not like say Carnotaurus which is oversized a bit.

Agreeed with you. That Triceratop body (with a new tail) may work good. Definitely Carnotaurus will need a new body, lol.

Yeah, I suppose Carnotaurus could get a remake if Lego wanted to and if the Jurassic world theme continues into 2023+ obviously, although I don't really mind the Lego Carnotaurus. And I guess since the Dominion wave was supposed to release alongside the 2021 wave then the Carnotaurus has no current plans of being changed because it might of been strange to have a year where there is 1 old Carnotaurus mold and 1 new one, maybe idk.

Me too! I want to know what kind of dinosaurs in that Dominion trailer / film so we would guess / speculate which dinsoaurs would be in Lego sets this spring. This thread is kinda dry for us to discuss tho.
