lol true, although the Brachiosaurus from the original movie is less iconic than the Tyrannosaurus Rex which the Jurassic Park franchise undoubtedly created even more fame than it originally had, even so to make it a general household name which by my perspective anyways is quite rare for prehistoric creatures. Most people just know creatures like Velociraptor (Jurassic Park versions), Triceratops etc, and maybe things like Stegosaurus, Woolly Mammoth, Sabretooth Tiger etc. You know what I mean? And also it could be argued that the Brachiosaurus isn't a main character, it doesn't provide as much as the T.rex does anyways. Another point that could be argued is the fact that there were several Brachiosaurs on Isla Nublar while only 1 Tyrannosaurus on Isla Nublar which makes it more special I suppose, Universal killing 1 of its Brachiosaurs vs killing all of its T.rexs (On Isla Nublar). (I should also state that Universal could easily retcon that Ken Wheatleys mercenaries captured a Brachiosaurus and was present on the SS Arcadia, since it was never explicitly stated that they hadn't captured one. And hey, they've retconned the Dinosaurs being created on Isla Nublar to Sorna before which was 100% explicitly stated in the original movie)

I don’t agree with you that Brachisoaurus is less iconic than Tyrannosaurus rex. As soon as the original trio saw this colossal, yet peaceful herbivore, it’s a most magical scene that people easily remember. It’s a wonder showing up in the trio’s eyes as their jaws drop. Tyrannosaurus rex and Velociraptors are the terrors that people easily remember as well in that original movie.

But I agree with you on the rest. Jurassic Park / World logo displays a fossizled T-rex since 1993 (except for JPiII.

Fair enough, yeah every scene from that movie was majestic lol. Iconic probably wasn't the right word but whatever, Good point, I totally forgot about the mascot of the franchise haha

I think there were a couple of iconic dinos in that film: the raptors, the trex, the brachiosauruses and the dilophosaurus (cause he killed Denis nedrey also the only dino that hasn’t appeared on live action tv since the film.)

Yeah I was just saying the most Iconic and Recognisable species in the film would be the grand therapod dinosaur, the dinosaur that attacked most of the main cast and contributed a large factor into the chaos that unfolded throughout Isla Nublar 1993, we have a t.rex. Also Dilophosaurus has appeared 3 times in live action albeit, mostly not in a real alive animal form, in Jurassic World it was a hologram, in Fallen Kingdom it was a statue in Lockwoods Estate and in Dominion it's alive! lol (Honourable mention: In Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom right at the start of the film you can hear a Dilophosaurus rustle in the bushes next to Jack i think his name was (he was the one opening the lagoon and got eaten by the mosasaurus))

Haha we'll see.

Yeah I suppose, although doesn't matter too much, out of curiosity, I believe The Lost World: Jurassic Park had the most kills of the franchise right? lol imagine Franklin is the one who dies lol jk, I highly doubt Universal would let one of their Main Characters die, also as Rexy is one of the oldest (actually might be the oldest) Dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park Franchise, there's only so long Universal can keep her alive right? Before it becomes unbelievable.

To be far we have no idea how long dinosaurs would stay alive if cloned. But yeah I think it is time for Rex to bite the dust, but they might not kill her. Clearly there will be more Jurassic films in the future, they make too much money.

Yeah, and Zia mentioned that in Fallen Kingdom

I don't remember that, but it's my least favorite Jurassic movie so I probably forgot that part.

I mean this is a movie series about cloned dinosaurs, humans, big cats and insects by the looks of it. I think they can do whatever they want.

Oh, they were in the heavily armoured vehicle going to main street and Franklin asked if 'the T.rex would be dead by now' and Zia said that 'it is impossible to know the max lifespan of a clone in a completely different environment, take a caveman that would've lived 20 years, give him prime meals modern healthcare, he'll live 5 times as long.' Or something like that lol

Warning, highly possible dominion spoilers:

giga_and_rex.png

As you can see from the image, looks like the T rex and Giga will fight, so possibly killing Rexy/Roberta which is what we've been talking about a little, then the Therizinosaurus finishes the Giganotosaurus? What do you guys think?

Edit: Actually wait, Rexy is in California last we heard so I suppose she's been captured

It's just a sticker, don't look too much into it.

A fight between these two seems inevitable.

That’s a great view of the Giga - I didn’t like how that shot from the flashback made it look like a hunchback so this angle highlighting that central spike is great for imagining what the Lego figure will look like - I just hope it gets a unique body mold!

Also I think those stickers are taken from a scene that happens at night judging by how grey both dinos look like. I’m sure the Lego figure will end up being a mix of green and brown, like the artwork Lucca has made on Twitter

Yeah I mean it would be a great 'ending' for the franchise

Yeah that's true. I mean, it would be weird if Lego doesn't make a new mold or if they just build spikes on Indominus' body.

Also, how they do Giganotosaurus could show us how they would do species like Stegosaurus if the theme continues

Pretty simple awnser, they could easily use the model and scale from the Stegosaurus from Lego JW the game, and it would be fun seeing him having the same mechanism the Ankylosaurus had, so he is able to have a swinging tail

I agree - I think a Stegosaurus could actually use a lot of the same pieces as the Ankylosaurus with the bottom torso and leg pieces. All it would need is a specialised top-body+head mould like the Anky had, and a new spiked tail piece that, as you said, can swing.

It is sad we haven’t got as many Jurassic dinos in the Jurassic World theme (tho I’m aware of the imbalance in the films! ). Personally I would love an Allosaurus and a Stegosaurus is probably one of the only herbivores I’d been interested in getting in Lego.

I gotta say - I totally agree with you that we don’t get many Jurassic dinosaurs! Ironically, T-rex, Triceratops, Pterandon didn’t show up in Jurassic period but only appeared up in Jurassic Park / World films if it has “Jurassic” word. Anyways! Yeah, I sure hope we will get Allosaurus and Stegosaurus.

But other than land-dwelling dinosaurs and flying reptiless, we still don’t get marine reptiles like Mosauraus.

I mean, they made entirely new giant molds for Quetzalcoatlus, and Plesiosaurus isn't too big for Lego to make

Also, if Lego continues the trend of showing an image of the set number instructions before a set is revealed, and one of the theory's we have is that Lego hasn't revealed the Giganotosaurus set yet because they are waiting to release it alongside some Promotional stuff for Dominion, doesn't that mean when Lego shows the set instructions then it gives us a little hint that there could be a new trailer or something coming around that time?

Uh…sure. First of all, there was only one Mosaurus in the films we have seen so far.  Where did that Piesiosaurus coming from? Second of all, there are so many extinct prehistoric marine reptiles that Jurassic World films should include, like Kronosaurus. I feel it’s long l overdue for Jurasic World to include more than one marine reptile so Lego could make marine reptiles. But, hey, I’m so glad we got a new pterosaur this year, about time.

I’m not here to talk about Giganotosaurus, lol? I was talking about not a lot of Jurassic creatures to be made in Lego form.

Well as far as I'm aware, my source gave me a list (Also think I posted it here at one point but idk) and it had species that have all been correct so far, and one of them was the Plesiosaurus which was going to be in the film and later there was that cook book with Plesiosaurus so I think its pretty safe to assume Plesiosaurus is in Jurassic World Dominion. Yeah, just need a Dimorphodon lol.

I meant it as a separate comment to the thread.

Sorry, I don’t remember that list posted somewhere. Well, that’s interesting. If Piesosaurus is indeed featured in Dominion, well, that’s good.

But I think Pieosaurus is large enough to be made in lego form, tho. We have so many molded animals in City theme (not suprised if you don’t follow that or somewhere closely). Lego is just unpredictable.

Yeah, I am pretty sure I did send it, probably on the 2021 thread though. Yeah, fingers crossed the leaks are true, but I have high faith in them, since I think the person who send it was cut from the film was that guy who got himself kicked and said all his leaks where fake lol.

Yeah, if the theme continues it would be amazing to have a plesiosaurus, I can just imagine the box like with a Plesiosaurus swimming above the water next to a boat, that would be amazing!

Also, does anyone find it a bit weird that the set names are starting to just have the word 'Dinosaur' in the title. I mean it really doesn't matter and its probably just to let kids know they are dinosaurs or whatever lol

I think that’s down to a couple of things. First - marketing, in that making it as clear as possible will sell more DINOSAURS!

Second, ‘dinosaurs’ is an evergreen Lego theme, but at the moment (for the last few years at least) that has been solely represented by Jurassic Park\World sets. So it may be about regaining some of the Lego branded consistency.

This “dinsoaur” word in the set names always bother me too - it’s very weird. I think TLG wants to make sure kids know there are dinosaur molds in are inside those boxes but I thin it’s unesscary to do that.

1.) There is a fossilized T-rex logo right on the boxes.

2.) There are prehistoric creatures in the box arts.

3.) Also, there are descpritions on sets via Lego Shope@Home

I’m pretty sure kids have watched  a lot of films that features dinosaurs already. Like Barney the friendly purple T-rex, The Land Before Time, etc.

True, lol, very dumb change... Same thing with almost every set name ending with 'Breakout' or 'Escape'.

Another thing, this doesn't really have to do with anything I guess, but this is my list that I want to share of dinos I would really like to see in the near future:

Stegosaurus: New molds (+ neck piece) except for the belly of the Ankylosaurus (not using the same leg parts from the Trike, because the ones from the Stegosaurus are actually a bit bigger and longer).

Nasutoceratops: reusing all the parts from the Trike except for the head

Sinoceratops: New head and (maybe) a chunkier body piece.

Apatosaurus: this would be the easiest sauropod for Lego to make, and it would have the same design as in Lego JW: TG but slightly bigger.

Brachiosaurus: This..... would be a B L E S S I N G. IF they would make this magnificent creature, it would have once again have the same design and scale as in the game, but his tail should be a little longer.

Dimorphodon: Since he is pretty small, I think he would have one big piece for the whole body (except maybe for the jaw), like the new Atrociraptor and Pyroraptor

Parasaurolophus, Corythosaurus and Iguanodon: These three would share the same parts except for their heads. They could have a neck piece and the same arms the Carnotaurus has.

Pachycephalosaurus: This one would only need a new head piece.

Ceratosaurus: This one would be cool, but Lego needs to make a smaller body piece for carnivores who aren't that big as Rexy, like Carnotaurus

Allosaurus: Same thing as with the Ceratosaurus, smaller body piece, new head

Spinosaurus: This one shouldn't be too hard to make. He would look the same as in the game

Compsognathus: Compy is like the Spino pretty iconic and needs to be very easy to make, like the same size as a baby velociraptor (not the one from Beta), and it would maybe be included in the first ever dino battle pack??? LOL

Mosasaurus: We need a marine 'dinosaur'. It should have new pieces and be a little bigger than the Indominus. My dream set would be the Mosasaurus arena including a lot of tourists and (of course) the Mosasaurus (could be a UCS set).

Adult Bumpy: Just recolors.

Scorpius Rex: This devil-looking monster would be cool to see in a new CC wave.

And here are the reworks (mostly downsizes):

Baryonyx and Indoraptor: these two are very oversized compared to dinos like Triceratops and T. rex. I actually think Lego should downsize most of the parts they have

Stygimoloch and Velociraptor: It's a bit weird that the Velociraptor still doesn't have the correct size like the new Atrociraptor, Pyro and Dilo, but whatever. Same thing for the Stygimoloch, so they would need to be around the same size of the new raptors, although they would have less movement

Carnotaurus: This one is way too oversized and wasn't even close to having the same size as Rexy, and as I mentioned before, there isn't a body piece for smaller Carnivores and this would really come in handy for future carnivores. Lego could also (if they have the budget) make a new head piece because the one we have now isn't very accurate.
