I know there's a lot of doom and gloom about whether or not this theme is continuing but I'm personally not too worried. We've been explicitly told time and again that Dominion is far from the end of the franchise, just the end of the JW trilogy. Aside from there being a TON of sets they could make that would sell very well based on scenes from past movies and Camp Cretateous, strong rumors and leaks suggest there are several new series in the works both live action and animated. They might take a break from doing movies for a couple years but there will be no shortage of content for sets to be based on. On top of that, I recall shortly before the pandemic LEGO signed some sort of deal with Universal regarding their IPs and possible future LEGO movies. At the time I think there was some talk about a LEGO Jurassic World movie or possible more of the animated projects like on Netflix. Honestly I'm a bit disappointed we haven't had any more Legends of Isla Nublar type content, my family loves that show.

Oh yeah? Suppose that's a good point, some reassurance for hope for sure lol, cheers!

Yeah, I didn't mind the Legend of Isla Nublar sets too much, they were nice and strange, giving some fresh sets etc, the only thing I just wasn't completely thrilled about, and I assume most others as well, was that they were making more Jurassic Lego sets but they weren't from previous films which people have been longing for, just look at all hype that comes from merely the thought of the possibility of original trilogy sets lol. Perhaps that's why Lego is being so stingy with original trilogy set releases, so people only have like one option from that wave so they buy them all lol, but if that improves the statistics of how well those original trilogy sets sell then I guess that's a good thing right lol? Though I'm sure if they just did a full wave of original trilogy sets, they'd sell perfectly fine lol

Any idea what happens to “issuing” set numbers? I jsut notice there are 5 set numbers between 76951 and 76956. It makes me curious… I could not find info on these set numbers.

According to stonewars, there will be more sets next year, but they don't have more intel beyond that :shrug_oh_well:

If it’s true, then what a relief!

Well, I suppose it works on the same basis as the Harry Potter theme.

Agreed. Kids love dinos, regardless of whether a new JW movie‘s out or not :shrug_oh_well: (Granted, with the same argument they could replace the theme with an in-house one, but I‘m glad they don‘t)

I do wonder though which direction they‘re gonna take the theme. More sets based on the 6 movies (yes please!), CC, or made-up stuff again? Or a combination of the three?

I do not think we wold get more Jurassic Park D2C sets since we already have T-rex Breakout diorama this year. I mean, Jurasic Park will have 30th anniveary next year.

I would be ok with regular sets that base on Jurassic Park.

That's great to hear, hope to get more info on these soon

Yeah. It would be likely we know more about the new sets in either late winter or mid-spring (in northern hemisphere).

Guess it’s time for us to wait for a while.

Yeah lol, hopefully we get more info then anyways, im excited about the possibilities, Lego could literally do anything, and im sure like all of you, I dont mind what they make with this IP, but I would greatly prefer what we all desire, original trilogy sets lol. I thought about a lego minifigure of JP3 Alan Grant, basically just from the lego JW GAME and a female JP3 Velociraptor, now im slightly hyped lol

But also, another chance for a modern lego Stegosaurus please lol

But anyways, like you said, its time to wait

Lol I know you really want Stegosaurus and do us so!

There are other dinosaurs we never got -Parasaurlophus, Spinosaurus, Allosaurus, Nanusteoceratops, baby Pteranodon (rom JP3), diverse flying reptiles, Mosaurus, Dimetrodon, and more.

Also, I wonder if TLG would make a new part to make dinosaurs - for example, Indromimus rex received new arm parts. Baryonyx and Therizinosaurus  do not have sickle toes.  So…I dunno.

I'm very glad to hear the theme is continuing! Until a new show/movie is announced, there is so much they can do with the theme in the meantime. It would be awesome if it operated like Star Wars and Harry Potter with each wave of sets having a healthy variety of representation from movies and shows. Give us a grown-up Bumpy(I want this more than anything and would not require any new molds please, please, please LEGO!)vs Scorpius Rex(basically reuse the Indoraptor molds but with a new head) set from Camp Cretateous, a JP3 Spinosaurus attack set(reuse the Baryonyx head if need be), a LW Stegosaurus encounter set with a baby and adult Stegosaurus(they could even use the belly and legs from the Ankylosaurus and give it a similar tail gimmick) give us a playset of the visitor's center from JP based on the final scenes of the film(conplete with a Raptor, Rexy and falling banner gimmick), not to mention all the capture vehicles from LW and the classic vehicles from JP--- with 6 movies and 5 seasons of the cartoon there is no shortage of content for set inspiration and that's not even including things like Legends of Isla Nublar which I could totally see them doing something like that again.

Haha yeah, cause its the best dinosaur haha, kidding, it's my favourite lol

And of course I wouldn't mind any new species, they are all welcome

I suppose it's always possible, and it would be cool. I think recolours are also welcome to give us individual dinosaurs like Baryonyx Limbo, Atrociraptor, Red and Panthera/Tiger (I forgot which we are missing lol), or even adult Bumpy like ToaDraco suggested lol, but yeah, would be cool, im intrigued to know what Lego has under their sleeves.

But... why?

You don`t want to pay less because of the missing license? I never understood in the first place why TLG needed to get JW on board to produce new Dinos.

I really like Lego Dinos and I have many of them, but not all because some Sets, even at a reduced pricepoint (a treatment that not all Sets got, like the exclusives) where waaaaayyy to expensive.

So make a cut, 3 or 4 years no JW Sets and then start an in-house Dino theme. I would like that! ;)

Because I mostly care about licensed themes :classic: An unlicensed dino theme surely would do well too, but I personally wouldn’t be as invested in that, mostly because JP/JW feature recognisable characters, vehicles, and scenes on top of the dinos.

Or maybe the JW sets outsell the previous in-house themes by such a margin they simply have no other choice  I mean JW is the first dino theme to have more than one wave, isn’t it?

Recognisable Characters... Yeah, I really need the 12th Owen in my collection!

JK, I get your point.^^

I don`t really care for anything but the dinos and in a non-licensed theme I`m sure they would be faar easier (= cheaper) to get.

yeah,I really don’t care about the characters too (except for the original trio since I’m annoyed with the army of Owen clones).

I do think in-house theme that introduce dinosaurs in new colors would be great. Or ever, a new mold.

I really don’t care if the dinoaaurs have names, I still give them the new names (for example, I called the white Atriocraptor “Whiteout” or Indrominius Rex “Snowball”, lol).

But BrickBob made an excellent point tho.

Imagine if there would be a whole wave of 4 'normal' JP sets, like the 2018 one. That would be amazing! I hope that if they do that, they make them based on 'smaller' scenes from the movie, like Rexy literally destroying the bathroom where the lawyer was hiding, Dennis nedry getting stuck in the mud in his car... Or even a set with the sick Triceratops. I do actually wonder that if they would do that, they would change the whole name to lego jurassic park or just keep it as JW sets, although that would probably be a bit confusing.

When that will finally happen, I can rest at last, lol, cuz he's mine too. (Pretty obvious I guess since it's in my name)

I hope so much that they're going to use the model from the game or at least that it will be based on that one because I liked it a lot. (At least the LW variant of) Stego is surprisingly larger compared to other big herbivores like Trike and Anky, so it would be nice if TLG makes all-new pieces for him (including a swinging tail and bigger leg pieces). I guess it wouldn't be impossible since all of the pieces for the Indoraptor were also brand new.

My dream set, I need it in my life :moar: I think it would be awesome to see it being like a diorama set in the same style of the star wars Dagobah training we got a couple months ago, since it captured the swamp scenery nicely in my opinion.

It would obviously also have to include a LW variant of Ian , Sarah, Nick and Eddie

Also, what happened to Sarah in Dominion? Wasn't she Ian wife or something lol

So it sounds like we may be getting sets next year that correspond with the 30th anniversary of the original JP movie which is a very exciting prospect. Hopefully not all of the sets will be based on the 1st film as there is so much that still needs covered for the entire franchise but at least 3 sets for the 1st film at different price points would be great. Personally, I would absolutely love a brick-built Brachiosaurus with a set of specialized molds for the head and throw in a JP jeep with Allen Grant, Ellie Sattler and John Hammond minifigs for around $60-$80 replicating the scene where they see a living Dinosaur for the first time. The body of the Brachy could be done similarly to Lloyd's Legendary Dragon from earlier this year and utilize the same new technic ratcheted piece fro the front limbs.

Other than that, I still think a large playset of the visitor's center based on the final moments of the movie would make for an awesome $130-$150 set. Aside from that, there is a ton of stuff they could do for smaller sets like a $20 JP Jeep with Nedry and a Dilophosaurus, a $30-$40 set with the sick Triceratops and one of the Ford Explorers, I could go on. I'd also love it if they reissued 75932: Jurassic Park Velociraptor Chase since I missed out on it back when it came out and it goes for pretty high prices now, however it's much more likely they'll remake that set entirely or make sets based on those scenes individually rather than the smaller combined model we got in 2018.

Also, sorry for the long post but I have a lot of thoughts on this theme and where they could go with it.

For me, I would love to see TLG making a large molding for Brachiosaurus to pay a tribute to the originalmovie’s 30th anniveary. It’s becuase Brachiosaurus is the first dinosaur that the original trio had witnessed and it was a magical moment.

Sadly, it’s highly unlikely for Brachiosaurus’s molded parts to be made…. I do preer molded creatures over brick-built ones.

I also prefer molded parts to brick-built for LEGO animals but in the case of the Brachiosaurus, I don't think they could reasonably do that, plus with the inventory of parts they have access to and the relative size the Brachy would need to be, I'm confident they can make it a pretty solid, smooth build that can fit fairly well alongside the molded dinosaurs.

That’s why I said “highly unlikely” for full-grown Brahciosaurusus. Probably they could molded parts for baby or teenage Brahciosaurus. I guess.

A single piece mold for a baby Brachy(Firecracker perhaps) along the lines of the baby Triceratops would be great.

Well….maybe not a single piece. A baby rachiosaurus may be larger than a baby triceratops. A turntable neckpiece would do great for a baby Brachioauru, I guess.
