Thanks for sharing!

The main way to make a set accessible is to make it a C model of an existing set. Obviously barring the wheels, how close are the first two versions to being possible to build out of the tracked stunt racer? Of course then with M motors.

Not very close, really; the 200pcs version should be almost possible except for a few pieces (and colors). Anyway, i suppose people have more than one set? So they can take pieces from various source sets. I'm looking to try making C Models, the thing is, depending on the set, it may be very limiting on the creativity aspect.

because apparently one needs to be cautious about the parts used

Well done! The first two versions scored >95% with my limited collection of 9 sets.

However, I’m not interested in buying instructions for these relatively small sets. I’m not sure about others, what’s your experience?

My experience is basically zero, i just started sharing like two weeks ago, i thought it was logical to use as few parts as possible and the most common parts possible to reach a wider amount of people who hgave the necessary pieces, but maybe that's not really the way: i see the hotest MOCs are usually big and detailed (at this point i don't have a big enough collection of sets/parts to build domething like that though). I'm selling to finance my lego collection and get my hands on more sets, that's just about it.

The hottest MOCs aren't necessarily the ones selling most, just the ones seeing most traffic. I made #2 on a moc that's sold <10 times and i was asking 3€ only.

I wouldn't suggest to hold big hopes that MOCing can finance your hobby. If you want it to, you need to make very good C models (so that people only need to break one display set to build it) and ask 10-15€ for them (more for a 1:8 car).

Only a handful of very good and very renowned MOCers can make sales at 20€+, and only for very good and very big MOCs.

Apologies for plainness, but IMHO you won't see many (possibly not any) sales at 7$ for a 200 piece model.

I perfectly understand and these are my first steps, let's see how it goes. So far, i only got 1 sale of the main version.

My tip: if you want to make money from this, focus on making great C models. Even then, don't go in with an expectation that it will fund itself, nvm to get rich off it.

It's a cool little car, but I would really like to see a video or at least pictures of it in real life. Rendered images are fine, but especially with creations designed for play rather than looks, I want to see them in action! Also how securely is the curved 3x13 panel in the hood attached? It looks like its only held in place at the front.

Rebrickable is full of awesome models, many of the best ones available free of charge. Personally I'm interested in models that have novel building techniques and a great build experience more than whether I own all the pieces, but that's just me. Also if I'm planning on buying something, I always check what free instructions the person has available to evaluate if the paid instructions are worth the money.

I can instantly spot a few deal breakers that would bar me from buying your instructions (apart from the price to part ratio). Hope these help you improve on them:

  • Many of the guiding arrows go trough pieces and sometimes even point to the wrong spots. (for example check your "simple steering mechanism" step 4 arrows.) looks unprofessional and can hinder more than help.
  • One of the black Bionicle tooth pieces on the left side of the blue version render appears to be floating without no apparent axle inside it. I would guess the same mistake is present in the instructions and parts list.

It is not definitely to get rich :) just to help finance, not 100% depend on it.

I understand the importance of videos and one of the reasons i haven't made one is because i don't have all parts in the correct colors, it kinda hurts my eyes to look at the car, it's a wild mix of colors. The curved panel is secured on both ends, i tried to represent it the best i could on studio.

It's impressive how fast you could detect a few little and simple mistakes i didn't notice. I don't know how to make the arrows go through the pieces correctly, they just stay always on top of the pieces. Yeah, seems i missed one blue axle/pin, already corrected it on the instructions, i won't change the pictures now.

Thanks for your feedback. I should get better at this over time.
