May 24, 20222 yr I think I have all of them except green, gray & purple. I don't consider the purple one to be official since it requires altering existing parts to create. Also they indicate that the gray one isn't official either requiring a part from another older non-spaceman CMF.

May 24, 20222 yr As far as I know the green one is official but I don't own it. Purple & Gray are not. If it isn't part of a set or CMF without alteration of any kind I wouldn't consider it to be official. If the parts are all available individually then put together by someone I can accept that as semi-official. But changing out arms, hands, legs and removing printed details becomes unofficial customization as far as I'm concerned and destruction/degradation of authentic parts.

Teeechnically if you remove the visor and change the face on the green spaceman to be the classic smiley face (to match all others) it becomes a purist custom. I am also a stickler for official figs, so I just ended up getting myself an extra green spaceman figure to make one that looks like the other astronauts.

Hah, that is mighty pedantic, but that's the name of the game when you're talking Lego.

I think it’s more likely we’d see a completely new color like gold or silver - and if we see a ‘spaceman’ in series 23 I have a suspicion they’ll also do something a little more exotic than the classic smiley face for the head (like another alien or space woman).

No one needs to remove printed details. For the purple you change the arms, not clean the ones it came with.
May 25, 20222 yr Gray Spaceman is official, purple wasn't released by the time of the Target Collection. Btw, since Lego just added a knight, a wizard, a sheriff, a pirate and redbeard (2013 one) to Build a Minfigure. Do you think there will be now those themes in the s23?
May 25, 20222 yr I wouldn't take appearing on a gift bag, a T-shirt or any artwork as a guide as to what is "official". LEGO have shown numerous figures in artwork i nthe past. Some exist, some don't.
May 25, 20222 yr If we were to see a classic spaceman in a future series, I'd love dark turquoise, glow in the dark, chrome, pearl gold, or flat silver. I wouldn't mind if some of the other pieces were more "exotic" (such as the S22 Alien), as long as we get the tanks, helmet, and torso, and I can go around and make my astronaut with official parts. 15 hours ago, SirBlake said: Hah, that is mighty pedantic, but that's the name of the game when you're talking Lego. Agreed on all points.

May 25, 20222 yr Bit of a shame all the Target Lego Space Man stuff happened when nobody could buy actual Space Legos. Seems a bit...uncoordinated. My Target hasn't gotten ANY of that stuff though. At least not before I gave up looking.
May 25, 20222 yr Why are we talking about Target Lego stuff here on CMF Serie23 forum? Anyways….I think gold classic spaceman or silver one would do GREAT! It will send Space fans into hype mode :)

May 26, 20222 yr Author Also, someone here is going to kill me but I rather get Alpha Draconis than a new classic spaceman color

One of my top favorite Space figures of all time (although I know some people don't like the style of UFO). To be honest, I'd like both. But you already know I'm a sucker for Space. May 27, 20222 yr Honeslty, I think a Classic Spaceman (and Brick Suit) in new color like gold or silver would do great for Sereis 23! I really don’t think it’s a “waste”.
May 28, 20222 yr Just an idea for all of them, I think this would be a solid list: 1. Gold Classic Spaceman (Classic Space) 2. Classic Knight (Classic Castle) 3. Lion King (Castle Lion Knights) 4. Octan Mechanic (Town) 5. Wolfpack Soldier (Castle Wolfpack) 6. Admiral Woodhouse / Captain Ironhook (Pirates) 7. Basil the Bat Lord (Fright Knights) 8. Cavalry General / Sheriff / Tribal Shaman (Western) 9. King Kahuka (Pirates) 10. Alpha Draconis (UFO) 11. Pippin Reed / Dr. Kilroy / Pharaoh Hotep / Achu (Adventurers) 12. Ogel (Alpha Team) Edited May 28, 20222 yr by General Magma
