Nice to see the extra details. I appreciate that they've gone for some interesting and fitting alternate faces, like howling for the wolf and making a robot face for the cardboard robot. Not sure how being angry goes with the turkey, but it's better than another smile.

However, this series is still a massive let down overall with very few broadly useful new pieces or recolours being introduced. All I see for myself are the knight and the Nutcracker.

It especially hurts that this could be our last feel-able series. After this, I don't know if I'll be buying any CMF any more, as the options will be very limiting.

Does anyone know where to find out the box distribution order - or would someone normally post it in this thread? I may be able to get to a shop where they are not commonly bought from, so am hoping to pick up the Christmas ones and a couple of the knights. I am no good at the feel test though.

Someone usually either buys a full box and reports back here or someone feels them all in a shop and reports back.

I don’t understand some folks call Series 23 “massive letdow”? Sure some of us expected that it would be relating to 90th anniveary. But…to me, I do think Seires 23 is a decent one - there are some usueul parts and cool costumes with alternative faces. So I will be happy to collect all 12 minifigures myself.

I wanna clarify i wasnt talking about this series as having 2 or 3 out of 12 that i desire a letdown... It was with boxes and only 2 or 3 out 12 desirable for me - boxes are a huge letdown.

Unlicensed series are really the one opportunity LEGO has in the Minifigures line to produce the most creative and broadly useful new prints and parts. Licensed series sometimes do and sometimes don't, depending on the license. Series 22 knocked that brief out of the park with fantastic new everyday stuff like the new animals and lute and wheelchair, some good hair piece recolours, cool new headgear for mediaeval/fantasy settings, etc.

This series... doesn't have that. The new moulds are primarily costume-oriented and therefore niche. If you like costumes, great. If you don't, tough luck. The new moulds that aren't costumes are the mini horse head which could have some interesting uses and I could see popping up unprinted as an architectural decoration later, the candy cane which is fine, and the elf hat with outlandishly long braids.

The prints mostly aren't anything broadly useful either, and the ones that are aren't too special - I'm thinking the ship captain and fairy girl, permutations of which we have seen before. Sure, anything can be useful, and some have a good amount of detail like the cardboard robot, but many of these figures have absolutely nothing besides maybe a couple of decent head prints, for which I'm not going to spend $5.

Again, this is just my opinion and I'm only trying to articulate it, not to convince anyone else of anything. But especially given that this might be the last CMF series I can buy any of, and that LEGO has used an unlicensed series opportunity on this, that's a big disappointment.

According to what we know as of now, the next series is CMF S24 to be released on Jan1st2023. And the boxes are said to be introduced on September2023. So, we still have a couple of series left coming in bags: S24 and whatever the May series is.

I was looking forward to seeing her torso and... I'm a bit disappointed, to be honest. Seeing the recent modernisation of the Black Falcons and the Lion Knights, with so much detail, this feels very plain, even cheap. There are no "folds" on the fabric, there is no belt, it seems so unnatural for modern standards. Just a bit of chainmail around the neck, then a uniformly coloured flat background. The fright night chainmail from a previous cmf series was also top-notch and super detailed, in comparison.

While I agree, I'm personally choosing to look at the positives. "Some" printing, no matter how good/bad, is better than none. If we're looking at the other factions that have gotten the update recently (Black Falcons/Lions), the thing that takes them to the next level is the coordinated leg printing. That's not happening here, and that bugs me more than the flatness of the torso print.

Still, what we do get is worth purchasing a few for me. It's enough to have an armored knight and some supporting troops, plus having accessible gold visors and swords.

This is the most excited I've for a CMF since Series 16 I think, even though I still dont get the mishmash of holidays/costumes in the series

I think it's meant to be t-shirt or something with the chainmail and the crest just printed on it. It's a costume after all.... 

And I agree with you about the S19 Fright Knight. Such and underrated minifigure! It's a piece of art!

Is the carrot actually new? Jay says it's the standard horn but it looks like it has distinct ridges rather than spirals all the way up. Brickset isn't clear about it.

Jay did say ‘unkittyhorn”in his blog, I beleive.
