In this other review, they say is new

https://ramblingbrick.com/2022/08/15/collectable-minifigures-series-23-rambling-review/

Not sure myself :look:

Hi. I write Ramblingbrick.

Just seen the chat here made me realise that I had not confirmed the difference between the carrots and the Unikitty horn

here is the carrot (left) next to unikitty horn (Right)

it might not be new, but it’s not a unikitty horn.

Thanks!

Certainly looks brand new to me, and is an actual reasonable size carrot for Minifigs. That's made me marginally more interested in that figure.

Jay did say ‘unkittyhorn”in his blog, I beleive.

Don't trust everything you read. Even seasoned reviewers make mistakes!

I can tell from the picture in Jay's Brick Blog alone but he did later correct it and say this:

"Correction: It’s not a unikitty horn but a brand new carrot piece. It has vertical lines, and is not as sharp as the unikitty horn."

Ahhh, I read that post a few hours after Jay released his review! Explained wh i saw the mention of “Unkitty horn” before he corrrected his mistake.

Thanks!

Thank you so much for posting this picture. As far as I am aware, you are the first person to do so. Much appreciated.

A new small scale carrot is nice to see.

The current Carrot and Apple parts have had their long nearly 25 year legacy from Scala and Belville , but in some context are giant when it comes to City/Friends or Minecraft (mainly if it's sticking out of a farm soil)

Not saying a small piece should be the 100% replacement, but it's nice to have a smaller alternative , as both large and small carrots exist, and this will scale better in different situations.

No worries.

You're welcome, anytime

So, that brings the new molds total to 13!

I wonder if this series got a bigger budget because of the 90th anniversary celebration.

the thing that takes them to the next level is the coordinated leg printing. That's not happening here,

[...]

Still, what we do get is worth purchasing a few for me. It's enough to have an armored knight and some supporting troops, plus having accessible gold visors and swords.

Oh yeah, I agree. The lack of leg printing is surely something that's lacking, but the flatness of thr shirt is so annoying to me, I just can't get past it. As another commenter said, it's probably meant to be a tshirt with printing (like a cosplay? A costume?) and I agree, but I dislike the choice they made. But yeah, it's still good enough that I'm going to buy 5 as usual with knight and new castle factions.

I think it's meant to be t-shirt or something with the chainmail and the crest just printed on it. It's a costume after all....

And I agree with you about the S19 Fright Knight. Such and underrated minifigure! It's a piece of art! :pir-love:

[...]

I completely agree. Every detail is perfect. The printed armor that correlates with the leg printing, the shield, the face, the plume, and most of all: the superb chainmail underneath. So repurposable, so clean-looking. No overdesign that makes it hard to use for an army with a different colour scheme. It was unnecessary but such a great addition to the minifig. One of the best CMF minifigs of all time.

Now that we know the Reindeer antlers are removable, I'm trying to envision what else that headpiece can be repurposed for in future CMF series, the same way the Fox/Raccoon and Penguin/Chick/Turkey heads were recoloured and reprinted.

The Wolf head seems very wolf specific (especially with the large fangs/canines), while the Reindeer minus the antlers could probably be repurposed.

*Patiently waits for the Rat and Ox heads to make an appearance in the CMF lineup*

While it's nice to have a new piece especially for it's intended purpose in this Snowman minifig, I still prefer the scala oversized carrot as a general purpose element because the new one appears to be rubbery like the Unikitty horn.

I think that was made so the antlers can be reused on a hairpiece (with a hole), so they'd be like an antlers headband

Advent Calendar Collector from Advent Calendar Series 2 !

The on average best unlicenced cmf series in a while in my opinion. Sadly no outstanding figure (like Viking, Aztec Warrior, Bard...) unlike the on average weaker ones before.

I really like the turkey. The snowman is great. The dragon just being a recolour is lazy but the initial design is so wonderfull it is still ok. The elf is cute. Medium sized legs in light bluish grey and dark red are usefull. The toy horse is wonderfull. The printed red toy soldier arms and legs would look gorgeous on the red cloak soldiers from the pirates theme.

I am quite dissapointed by the lack of any historical figure :/ The knight designed to look like a cheap costume (wich it gets done well - i just have no use for it) doesn't count in my opinion. There is also no reason why the front of the Wolfs tail is unprinted unlike Scrooge from Disney Series 2.

I love castle factions too. For me yellow Ravens are my favourite. Wished I bought more at the time. I hope they and other factions introduced in the CMF make an appearance in possible sets later on.

with all the extra CMF figures produced i don't know why they dont do a set like this with 2 ravens or 2 green knights 1 Fright Knight, 1 heroic knight, the troubadour and the jester? Shoot they just redid falcon and forestman, so they could actually remake this exact set lol... i wonder what the Price would be on this

This set was originally $6.75 in 1988, inflation calc says $16.75, but i would bet they would price it at $19.99 - the ninjago 4 packs were 12.99 and the clone trooper 3 pack was $14.99 but came with a small craft.

Would you mind giving us at least an approximate location? It’s helpful to know because things tend to roll out on a regional level.

Well howdy neighbor, that’s great news. Sounds like I’ll be hitting up Fort Worth Wally Worlds in the near future.
