Maybe this knight in the CMF Series 23 can be considered the king for that set? The lion king, a man on a hobby horse? They sure had to do some budget cuts to afford a sizable castle by the sound of it Quote
The Stud Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 (edited) A bit disappointing that it’s not a 90th Anniversary series, but hey, maybe we’ll get something like that for Year 100 in 2032. Overall, it sounds like a pretty normal CMF series. My goal is to eventually have every series completed which means that I’m now going to buy every new series when they come out going forward, so I’ll definitely be getting all of these. Nothing really stands out as especially exciting to me personally though. I’m just confused why Lego is going out of their way to disrupt the year/series number pattern that they’ve had going since Series 16 in 2016. This is barely even connected to the anniversary going on around the same time so I’m wondering if they just didn’t have another licensed series ready in time. It’s probably too soon for Marvel Series 2, Lego might not want to do Disney Series 3 right after Muppets and also without a new D2C, and they might not have been ready for another series based on a new license yet. Robert8 Posted June 10, 2022 Author Posted June 10, 2022 As I said a few months back. This might have to do with pandemic affecting whatever they had planned for 2022. While I cant be sure about it, thats the feeling I get from this. Also, this is clearly intended for a fall release because of the holidays themed characters, which makes wonder if this one was actually Series 22 and the one we got earlier in the year was a subtitute for whatever they had planned for January 2022 Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Does anybody know if the visor is this piece? 23 minutes ago, Robert8 said: As I said a few months back. I can certainly see many of these fitting that theme, although for some I have a hard time figuring what holiday they might be associated with (e.g. popcorn boy). Quote

It’s been a long time since a regular series included quite so many. Quote

It just a costume Of course, thats my speculation Its because they are all clearly costumes. Even the knight. The stick horse makes it a costume Quote
Borex Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Spring arms? Arms wobbly on springs? That’s weird. I hope the wolf costume is just a recolor of the wolf head in white. I want a white wolf for my werewolf team. also a robot with scissors? What is this? Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Well that's disappointing after the speculation, guess I'll buy more of Series 22 lol Quote

I guess I'm used to thinking Halloween figs are spooky, but that would certainly be another way of celebrating the holiday. Quote
Lion King Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 I still don’t understand why Sweries would be released later this year if it’s NOT anniveary set and not released next year. Sure, we have seasonal figures but still…. But it’s interesting that we got Cowboy and Racer minifigures in Series 18. Cowboy represents Western and Racer represent video game (?). Now we get Pirate and Knight represent Pirate and Castle themes respectively. And To be honest, I do think the minifigures and accessories are useful for me. Quote
Lion King Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 So…since the color scheme is going to be green, will baseplate be green, just like Series 18’s orange baseplate? Quote
Accio Lego Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 This series is pretty meh for me seeing how there’s no mention of any animals new or otherwise, and generally I’m not interested in costumes. I might pick up the green dragon suit woman though, since I missed picking up the red one in series 18. That’s an interesting thing though, the descriptions don’t seem to mention an accessory for her. I can’t imagine she doesn’t come with one, since she doesn’t use any new molds and the similar raccoon suit woman from series 22 came with two larger accessories. Quote

Man in gray knight armor with golden visor (2594), golden sword, printed shield and printed breastplate each with the Classic Castle logo from the Yellow Castle and a white hobby horse, That’s certainly a favorable translation. If done correctly, I’m sure I’d have to get several. That’s a relief. Quote

I would not say that at all It is a themed one like series 14 and 18 (maybe it is a 4 year thing?) that is almost like a licensed series in its limited range of figs just for costumed characters. A normal series like last one had 4 figs I really wanted and got multiple of, 4 figs that is nice that I will buy if the price is right and 4 figs I have little interest in. A series like this is normally 0 figs I really want, 12 figs that is nice that I will buy if the price is right and 0 figs I have little interest in. It is still better that a licensed series that I normally have no interest in and we got series 22 this year so it is not like this series takes the spot of the normal CMF series this year Quote

As far as I have understood promobricks it's more of a man dressed up as a knight in a playful costume rather than a real knight. I don't recall it 100% but in their stream they said that either the shield or the printing of the shield is in pink. Edited June 11, 2022 by Kallego Quote
Wesley D Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 The leaked list started fantastic, until that first minifigure got a 'hobby horse' It's a costume series all over again. Such a dissapointment, while I was eagerly hoping for a throwback series. For the first time I could see myself buying multiple complete boxes! I imagined myself reimagined characters like Tim the Time Cruiser, some random classic Town minifigures, Captain Ironhook, a female Islander, a Black Knight or more generic knights, Paradisa strandgoers, Baron Von Barron... I'm sure there will be some likeable characters, but I really dislike a whole series design budget and efforts get spend on costume parts. Of course I'm happy we get a knight and a captain, but to me the combination with the unnecessary party accessories just doesn't feel right. Getting a captain with or without seagull, map, binoculars... is a whole different feeling than getting one with a boat costume, even though I know I don't have to use it. Quote
Gorilla94 Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 I like that the red Dragon suit guy will be getting a girlfriend and a full mask snowman would be a cool snow man in a lanscape sceene. A Wolf headgear with open face could be at least usable for a Roman soldier... I like the idea of getting a stick horse. Will look great with a child minifig in a castle setting. I just really hope the knight/his shield won't be pink but something i can use somehow :/ until now it sounds much better than series 20-22 to me, but I am glad I stopped collecting the whole serieses a while ago... ^^' Quote
Legochaek Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Some of these sound awesome like the ship guy and the snowman, and the popcorn kid Quote
R0Sch Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 I think the costume minifigures are more popular than some AFOL's here think. The CMF's are targeted at children too after all. I know many just buy the animal costume minifigures and leave out the rest. So for an anniversary series I don't see a problem. Certainly better than another licensed Disney series. And if you don't like the stick horse, just replace it with the white baby horse from the City Advent Calendar or so. Quote
Lion King Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Is a knight going to be a guy and his costume going to be pink? If so, I think it’s interesting that a male knight going with a girly color…. So i don’t see any harm that color scheme would be pink for Series 23. Quote
Robert8 Posted June 11, 2022 Author Posted June 11, 2022 When I first read the descriptions yesterday I thought the captain costume was a pirate themed character. I just realized that it isnt. The word pirate isnt anywhere. I just made that up That certainly makes the character less interesting to me Quote
Murdoch17 Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 A new snow globe part? We need a little red sled to go with it, preferably with the name 'Rosebud' printed on it. (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, watch the vintage film "Citizen Kane".) Quote

More like magenta, it's supposed to be an homage to the knights from set 375 with the golden visor from 7079 and a different plume. Edited June 11, 2022 by R0Sch Quote

It kind of reads like they had a few designs for a Fall/Winter CMF, but then filled out the line with various other rehashes, leftover S.18 concepts and an anniversary nod w/the knight. I'm withholding judgement until pics surface, naturally. Quote
