Brickdoctor Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Ok, not an army, but my modest collection. No matter, this topic is for displays as well. Quote
TheDarkness Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I hate to rain on your parade but I don't think so. 10,000 LEGO Clone Troopers pic by Aryo Gono, Flickr I think you have to collect a little more to achieve this. Jeez! Absolutely amazing Quote
Fatteh Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Jeez! Absolutely amazing Nuts, more like it. I wonder at roughly what point it would be cheaper to buy molding and printing machines to make your own? 100,000 figs? A million? Quote
StoutFiles Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Pretty sure Aryo is the same guy who built his own Executor and put around 50 mini ships around it. And then displayed it in a Stormtrooper outfit. This guy is the definition of a hardcore AFOL. Quote

madoka Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I'm still waiting to see what madoka posts here... I had a "what the heck am I thinking!?!?!?" moment about when I hit 6,000 SW figs and I slowed down around that time to concentrate on Castle. Today I'm around 9,000 SW figs, but that includes rebels, imperials and clones. Wasn't there also a mass gathering of CW Clones back in '08 that TLG did for a charity organization or something? I remember they were unarmed clones, but I believe they numbered 25,000. "LEGO employees at LEGO UK head office in Slough assembled an "army" of 35,310 Clone Trooper mini-figs in six and a half hours in July 2008." http://www.recordholders.org/en/list/lego.html 10,000 LEGO Clone Troopers pic by Aryo Gono I always thought that pic was at an event or gathering of some sort and not his personal collection. All his pics from his personal collection seems much, much smaller. Do you know if that is all his? Quote
TheDarkness Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 So the next time my wife complains, I just have to show her the other pics in this thread Quote

If he was a REALLY hardcore AFOL, the outfit would be made of Lego too... Quote
Brick Smiley Productions Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I think you guys should see Madoka army! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=12461 How do you get minifigs in bulk like that? I don't think I've seen anybody sell that many on bricklink. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 How do you get minifigs in bulk like that? I don't think I've seen anybody sell that many on bricklink. Buy lots of army building sets, look out for sales, and accumulate over the years. Having a lot of money helps, too. Quote

Vindicare Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Wow! And I thought buying 4 at one time was excessive... Quote
TheDarkness Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Insanity yes. Doesn't stop it being a thing of beauty Quote

Vindicare Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I was browsing Clone Armies on YouTube. A few of them mentioned a "LLCA", large(st) Lego clone army. I've never read anything about that here. Anyone know what it's about? Is it an actual club, or just some friends making one... The kid who I first heard it from had a decent sized one, both in troops and vehicles, although a lot were BPs. He had 300+ clones, old and new BPs. Quote
Stardusty Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Don't forget insanity! snip How many BPs is in there? No, seriously, how did you het them in you car? You're driving a van? Mini bus? Truck? Aircraft carrier? And man, you have a lot of money. Quote

Ogre Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 (edited) So the next time my wife complains, I just have to show her the other pics in this thread I've done that SEVERAL TIMES already. She still complains. Buy lots of army building sets, look out for sales, and accumulate over the years. Having a lot of money helps, too. THAT can't be said often enough! I mean, think about it...even if he bought each of those clones for $1, no shipping...that's over TEN GRAND just in MINIFIGS! Edited June 26, 2011 by Ogre Quote
Lego Otaku Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 I've done that SEVERAL TIMES already. She still complains. Show her this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gerburrows/sets/72157626512173154/with/5650278989/ Not just a lot of minifig, a huge building to go with them. Quote

StoutFiles Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 I almost think we've jumped the shark on minifig counts, now nothing will be impressive. How about we focus on how people display their sets/figs? We might get some good ideas on how to show off sets/figs without taking over rooms. Quote
