Brickdoctor Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I'm not sure why you're asking these things, but remember that this is not a Buy/Sell topic. Use this topic to post pictures of your armies and displays; we have a separate forum for Buy/Sell/Trade/Finds. Quote
BigJoe Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 im not buyin/selling anything i dont think. cant remember. im wonderin how many companies r in 100,000 troopers Quote
Lobot Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 im not buyin/selling anything i dont think. cant remember. im wonderin how many companies r in 100,000 troopers According to Wikipedia: 'A company is a military unit, typically consisting of 80–250 soldiers and usually commanded by a captain or a major. Most companies are formed of three to six platoons although the exact number may vary by country, unit type, and structure. Several companies are grouped to form a battalion or regiment, the latter of which is sometimes formed by several battalions' So it's between: 100,000 divided by 80 (min value) = 1,250 companies, or 100,000 divided by 250 (max value) = 400 companies. It might be helpful if you could take a little more care with your posts in future, as they're not the easiest to understand Quote
Ceroknight Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 From Wookieepedia, which I thought might be a bit more appropriate Grand Army—10 systems armies, a total of 3,000,000 units, with Supreme Chancellor Palpatine as Commander-in-Chief.[12] The number 3,000,000 was Sifo-Dyas' initial order, as the number of total clones increased during the war.[4] Systems Army—2 Sector Armies (294,912 units) led by a High Jedi General.[12][4] Sector Army—4 corps (147,456 units) led by a Senior Jedi General.[12][4] Corps—4 legions (36,864 units) led by a marshal commander and a Jedi General.[12][4] Legion/Brigade—4 regiments (9,216 units) led by a senior commander and a Jedi General.[12][4] Regiment—4 battalions (2,304 units) led by a regimental commander and a Jedi Commander.[4] Battalion—4 companies (576 units) led by a battalion commander and major.[4] Company—4 platoons (144 units) led by a captain.[12][4] Platoon—4 squads (36 units) led by a lieutenant, second lieutenant, and sergeant-major.[4] Squad—9 units led by a sergeant and corporal.[4] Quote
Nom Carver Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) Here in my country, a platoon is composed by 8 troops led by a sargeant, 3 platoons make a section led by a lieutenant, 3 sections make a company and about 7 companies make a batallion. Back on topic, form them up any way you want and bring on some pics and, after all you said they were a mix of all eras. Edited August 28, 2013 by Nom Carver Quote
narbilu Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 From Wookieepedia, which I thought might be a bit more appropriate Is there a simular list for the Alliance? Quote
BigJoe Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 no it not that i just dont type everything picture perfect. Thanks to all of you for the info Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 no it not that i just dont type everything picture perfect. We don't ask for perfection on EB, but we don't tolerate apparent laziness. Your posts are hard to understand, and simple things like capitalization, punctuation, and forming sentences with some semblance of syntax would go a long way towards improving that. Please, do watch out for that in the future. Thanks. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 NP. srry bout tht. I just told you that we don't tolerate lazy writing, and you reply with a texting acronym, a non-capitalized sentence, and three abbreviated words?! Stop that style of writing. Quote
BigJoe Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I'm not being lazy. I'm used to txting over writing Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I'm not being lazy. I'm used to txting over writing The texting style of writing is itself lazy, abbreviating things, leaving things out, and showing a general lack of care. Even if that style was justified while texting, you are not texting when you post here, therefore if your reason for posting as you do is that you are "used to txting", you are also being lazy by not making the effort to type in a more acceptable style. This rule is not up for debate; it is clearly written in the Member Guidelines which you agreed to when you registered. Stop using the texting style of writing, and let's get this topic back on track. Quote
TWP Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 So Bigjoe, you know buying 100,000 troops with your friends will at least cost €/£/$ 100,000 for each of you? Quote
Annobanno Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Hello people! I am totally new here on the forum, so I thought I wanted to show my little Star Wars collection, I am currently assembling my 7166 Imperial Shuttle and my 7180 B-wing, which both are some of my favorite Star Wars vehicles :-) I also just ordered the 10240 Red Five X-wing, and I am looking forward to receiving thisa in a few days, where I will post a few pictures of it :-) So here I have the 4500 Rebel Snowspeeder, which is one of my all time favorite Star Wars aircrafts. Then there is the 9495 Gold Leader's Y-wing, which was an impulsive buy, as I just really wanted to own an Y-wing! The crown of my collection is of course the 10019 UCS Rebel Blockade Runner, the pictures aren't very good (Phone quality), but it really shows how massive and heavy the 10019 is compared to the other aircrafts! So here are some pictures, and again I must apologize for the poor quality :-) And a top-down view: Just wanted to share it with you Star Wars fans :-) Have a great day! Quote
Mogywar Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Blockade Runner is one of my favorite sets. I also like the Rebel Snowspeeder, but I think that the previous version of Y-Wing's better. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Welcome to EB! We have a topic for showing off your collection, here. I'll leave this topic here for a little while so you can see this post and know where the topic will be going, since you don't have enough posts for me to PM you a note about it. Quote
Tariq j Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Welcome to EB! A good collection, I like the Y-wing as well, the imperial shuutle was another one of my favourites. Quote
