Christine Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Hey folks, for those of you who have read the post on female lego fans you'll have seen my post there for the rest a more formal introduction seems right here! My name is Christine and I used to collect lego when I was a wee bairn, primarily town and space themes although of the two I had far more space sets. Then during my teenage years I stopped collecting and the two large boxes of lego I had collected where put away. About a year ago I stumbled across the Brothers Brick blog and was fascinated by the craftmanship which had gone into some of the creations, I've read that ever since and recently was inspired by the influx of cheap exoforce sets to get back into the hobby. Et voila here I am and will soon be recovering those two lovely big boxes of lego from my parents! In the real world I just finished training as a surveyor and am currently laid up at home recovering from a broken leg which has proven to be the ideal time to build! Chrissy Quote
WhiteFang Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Hi Christine, Welcome to Eurobricks! Glad to know that you are interested in Town and Space themes. How about current themes? How is your broken leg? Hope you will have a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, enjoy yourself in Eurobricks! Quote

legotrainfan Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Hi Christine! Welcome to eurobricks! I just want to tell you that you're not the only one who is suffering from a fracture. I've got a fracture in my hand, but little plastic bricks aren't heavy, fortunately! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Hi Christine, welcome to EB. Most of the girls seem to pick such sensible login names too. ( not like I Scream Clone ) Its amazing what old hobbies can be rediscovered with the right catalyst, i remember seeing this cool Venator about a year ago, and the idea of Lego most have festered in the brain and eventually my Dark Ages came to an end. Enjoy your time here on EB Quote
Christine Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 Thanks to everyone for the welcome :) As to current themes it's a toss up between star wars (because I like some of the bits available in the sets) and the mars mission sets. The only problem I have with them though is that I don't really like the aliens much in them. TBH if I could have any range back it would be the original Blacktrons which where my absolute favourites! BTW That is an increadible Venator I Scream Clone! Quote

Christine Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 And LEGO isn't part of "the real world" Welcome to Eurobricks. Well lego is part of the world which I call 'things I can do for fun' the rest isn't (as much). Where that the rest of the world worked in the same way as lego, then I could repair my car myself by popping out the broken part and putting a new one in rather than having to take it to a specialist... And here I thought Lego's slogan was "Just Imagine" Welcome to EB btw! Have fun in your building time as long as it lasts. Edited June 23, 2008 by Hairy Ruben Quote
