And another 1:10 LeMans racecar. This time a Ferrari 499P.

https://decadastore.com/products/cada-blazing-flame-c63008w?_pos=1&_sid=285106b49&_ss=r

I've bought this set but found it to be a bit disappointing. It's very reliant on stickers, the engine can't be accessed or viewed without some disassembly, and a long hose element meant to go across the rear was 5mm too short to even be attached. It also seems to have been optimized more for motorization, as the static model's front axle sits far too high (minus the battery box to sink it down) and there's a very noticeable hole left in the cockpit floor (for the steering servo). It still makes for a nice display model but falls short of Lego's Peugeot 9x8 in terms of design and functions.

I also bought CaDA's licensed 1:10 RUF GT though, and this one far exceeded my expectations. The printed elements are great, the spring-loaded doors are very satisfying to operate, and the whole thing just felt like a top-end premium product. The wheels and tires on both models are also light years ahead of anything Lego are offering for 1:10 cars, and I greatly appreciate the absence of colorful pins and axles spoiling the external finish.

Sorry for derailing from the last posts in here, but does anybody experiences issues with the performance of the ”new” and ”specially made for buggy motors” CaDa JV1010 hubs (the ones in white and with PF ports)? I was curious, as mine are pretty crappy and on the official website the PF version is nowhere to be found.

Soo, my hubs charge in over 2 hours and one of them in 10 minutes from 0%, have short playtime with full battery (around a maximum of 5 minutes and for the one that ”completely” charges in 10 minutes is depleted in under 3 minutes) and I can not stack 2x buggy motors on 1x port as the 1st stacked motor will barely run and the other will stall (on the much cheaper MouldKing hubs I could stack them with no problems; that is how I reached 16km/h without having twisted fingers due to the numerous buttons I have to control at once, as with the CaDa hubs and remotes).

Moreover, even with 1x buggy motor / 1 port, the power seems to be pretty low, as my models barely could run, even with a ratio for torque (1kg, 1:1 gear ratio, 3x hubs, 4x buggy motors and 1x PF servo..........the model barely worked; 1.5 kg, around 1.60 gear ratio, 2 hubs, 2x buggy motors and the PF servo...........the model made a few meters, as I just couldn`t watch how slow it was; 900g, 3:1/ 2.34/ 1:1.4, 1 hub, 2x motors and 1x PF servo...........the model was slow and had some torque but it felt like the hubs didn`t had power/ same, but a bit faster/ the model barely moves).

You mean that they're no longer cheap, or that they're no longer an alternative to LEGO?

They are no longer cheap. Ir an alternative as long as cada bricks and beams will be compliant with Lego.

There is something wired going on...on freakware site there is no announcement of JCB 220 and CLAAS Dominator 370; and they are not available, as if there will be no such sets...

I also spoke to CaDa after I made a video with the 4x4 Beach buggy (900g / 32 oz  with 2x hubs, 2x buggy motors and 1x PF servo at around 7°C / 45°F, but it behaved the same in the middle of the summer at around 30°C / 86°F with a different model).

Here is the video........it is exactly as long as the fully charged hub lasted  https://drive.google.com/file/d/16dgBHmdi29Ys46QdPlTKWfytDeRBmotN/view?usp=drive_link

Also, here are their replies.......the last one tops them all.

For me, I don't have problem with PF port white hub with 2 cada buggy and 1 servo, but have same problam with old buwizz firmware(cutoff) on new clear port hub with 2 cada buggy motor(with 1 splitter) and 1 servo.

I see..........welp, then the issues are only for my hubs then :/

And I think the CaDa`s clear connectors is not compatible with the Power Up / Control+ ports

Also, everything works ok when you stack 2x buggy motors on 1x port on the white JV1010 hub with PF ports?

Wow, I think everyone has already seen the model from Eric Trax. Truly, the model is mesmerizing. The author has done a tremendous job with the CaDa company. Orders are already open on third-party resources, we are waiting for a review from the Author. The cost of the model is 330 dollars.

Yes. The model is available to order now in the official CADA store for $350 and free shipping worldwide. You have to remember about import duties if there are any in your country.

Direct link do CADA Store  (-5% off with code: ERICTRAX5%)

If you have any questions that you would like me to answer during the review just ask :)

Not specifically with this one, but another Chinese hub.

I found that if you remove them from the charger before they declare themselves fully charged, they don't like it at all. To the point that the battery will get a very short lifespan, then go puffy.

I suspect (with zero evidence, it's really just a theory) that the BMS is very basic and e.g. just throwing current at whichever cell wants it first, then topping off the others after. By that theory, you can easily end up with a bad cell in the battery if you unplug it early as it'll have one or more undercharged cells.

Or else the batteries are just really cheaply made and/or being overloaded with discharge rate.

First of all, what is the Tire size?

Thanks

Oh, the black battery box has finally arrived.

That is also very attractive; lots of my models fail because one stud needed extrs to cover gray battery box by TLC, but front tires are something needed...

I see. Thanks for the answer anyway :))

One strange thing I noticed at the a battery boxes is that, even if they signal that there are fully charged, if you wiggle the cable a bit or plug in/ out the charging cable, the battery boxes start a full charging cycle again as there are empty.

The set is really extraordinary

Well, this is what happens when they let a skilled designer go all in :)

Amazing blend of technic and system, very functional and beautifully built model. Congratulations @eric trax!

I wonder how much it weighs due to all the system pieces, more specifically, how much the system cover adds compared to if it was covered just with technic panels. The side plates/tiles don't seem to be that thick, but there are quite a few DBG walls under to green paneling, that may be adding a bit more weight.

94.3 x 38 front, 75 x 28 rear?

Actually the front tire 94.3x38R and rear tire 75x30,5R both designed by me.

Thank You! In the case of mixed technic and system brick models, you can count 1000 parts to 1000 grams (1 kg). Of course, there are small deviations, but this is an estimate that works for each of my models. The combine, as far as I remember, weighs about 4.70 kg (4567 elements). I think you can assume these proportions for similar models by other authors.

I'm waiting for my samples and will try to record my review by the end of the year.

That is very nice, if only 94.3x38R tires would be available seperate, since as you mentioned a while ago set is not that cheap...

Some 120mm or 130mm with same design would be perfect.

Kind regards buddy

(Set looks extraordinary, as I said allready)

The model and functions are great! Price is excellent for the size and number of electronics. I guess the motors are still not proportional, right?
I'm not a big fan of the stickers over multiple elements, especially since so many printed parts come attached on plates because they were printed as a group. If CaDA can't make separate sized stickers why not print those few elements too? Another small nitpick are the spoked rims. Something like on the trailer would have looked better, or some wheel caps.

Check out another good, unbiased YT review from CleverPig.

I agree with him, sticker on multiple parts is something unacceptable from CaDA (it appears in several sets).
