That´s why it´s useless to make it a battlefield Lego vs. CaDA vs. Mould King etc., make provocative claims - that´s what I meant. On the other hand, go ahead if that makes the controversy more valuable for the public, I don´t care then! Might wanna go over that again, the comment you responded to didn't compare CaDA to Lego, see below: On 12/12/2022 at 10:08 PM, Bartybum said: As for CaDA quality, my experience is that the quality of the pins and small connectors was pretty garbage - I lost a tonne of them after I pulled the Centenario apart. I'd only recommend CaDA for the big pieces i.e. liftarms, wheels, panels, etc., as well as gears and other special pieces I understand wanting to avoid having a flame war about which brand is better, and I totally agree, but I was answering the dude's question about opinions of CaDA. 1 hour ago, brunojj1 said: But not as many as you want people make to believe. I can't find the entire email chain so I don't remember all the part codes, but every single JH5041.01 (equivalent Lego piece 6536 in black) was loose. I had to get them all replaced (great customer service though, no problems with them at all). That being said, my comment does make it seem like I meant all the small connectors were shit (which I didn't intend, apologies), so I'll clear that up. I didn't have problems with every single small connector type, only like three or so. They were pretty important however, either due to the amount of them used, or the fact that they were cosmetic and so needed to be able to hold properly. A lot of the connectors that relied on grip were pretty decent, but a lot of them definitely had a bit less than needed to be regularly handled. I remember having to frequently push a few things here and there back into place, namely the hood panels and the doors. I'll stand by my statement that the pins in the Centenario were generally pretty awful to work with, though. I would NOT recommend building it with CaDA pins. The set was REALLY difficult to pull apart, solely because of these two bastards: They were so bloody tight I badly scraped my finger on the chassis trying to claw them out at one point. As for broken pins, about a quarter of the blue 3L pins broke when pulling apart because of how hard/brittle the plastic was. I ended up also breaking a few black 2L pins, but they were mostly fine, if a bit too tight at times (never loose, though). The blue 1/2 pins were pretty tight too, but none broke. On the whole, my experience with CaDA's pins left me with a pretty sour taste, and wanting to rebuild it with Lego pins. Another thing I remember was also that the CV joint in one of the wheel hubs didn't hold in place very well, and was very easy to pull out. The dark azure panels were absolutely beautiful however, so there is that Edited December 13, 2022 by Bartybum I've gone back and edited my past comments to be more specific Quote
aminnich Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 @Bartybum quote was changed to quote your edit. I think your feedback on the pins is valid, I was going through some of the models yesterday and found quite a few broken. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a broken LEGO pin that was not torture tested. I've probably broken 100+ Lego 2L pins! I guess my regular use case is approaching torture testing then, which might be true, since I reuse them a lot and am not careful with 'em! Quote
Gray Gear Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 I have to agree about the CADA Pins. While most CADA bricks have decent quality, the pins really are trash. They break easily during normal building, and especially during disassembly. I recommend just dumping them right away and getting some better quality ones from another brand. I use mostly non-LEGO bricks, this is no LEGO-fanboy trashtalking the competitors. Quote

On the other hand the same thing happens to me with older Lego pins as well, because the ABS material becomes harder and brittle with the time or has been different at some point. It was quite noticeable in the Daytona set, that the plastic has become softer, which btw. has its downsides too regarding less clutch power and overall structural stability! But all in all it really doesn´t matter to me, because I have literally tens of thousands of pins around and one broken pin will never ruin my day. Back to the CaDA sets - they usually deliver plenty of spare parts in the box, so the user has no bigger issues with that, even if he/she has no stock to take from. I really hope they dumped recycled all the older bad batches finally! Quote
shroomzofdoom Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 (edited) And now for something completely different.... Just wanted to add that CADA now offers 4M pins with friction ridges and their own Beam 3M W/ 4 snap in black w/friction ridges. I've found that these hold up pretty well under daily connect/disconnect duty while working on some trial and error designs. I'm very glad to see the beam with snaps in black as TLG doesn't make them. I've tried CADA carbon fiber axles and buggy motors, neither of which lived up to my expectations. aFrInaTi0n Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 (edited) Unfortunatly they are very expensive right now.. Ordered 20 of those for testing purposes, but with 0.35 € per piece they are currently living in the category "my precious".. 😅 I also fear that if one gets used to them you will need more.. So I would hope for CaDA pushing the pieces in new Sets for people recognizing them, so CaDA could start to mass produce & therefore decrease the costs per part.. It´s almost painfull to tear them out - I´m using a slim screwdriver which I insert into the slits betwen those ridges in order to pull them out. 27 minutes ago, artic13 said: i dont think CaDa make parts themself include all the blocks. most of chinese block brand using GoBricks brand (good quality). read from this forum You are dead wrong on this! CaDA is not like the other trash brands you mentioned! CaDA makes own molds, clearly different from all other brands! And one mold costs at least 10,000 (ten thousands!) USD, for your reference. They are trying hard to be distinctive from the others and respect design patents from Lego, unlike the others! The forum you´re citing from, talks very little about CaDA (this is a CaDA dedicated topic btw.!) and what it tells about their online store is pure nonsence! They actually have an official online store and there are also fake stores around which are not official! So please stop talking trash and advertising this other crap! Just to explain it from my perspective: there is so much crap out there, sometimes it blows my mind how it´s even possible. The L...n company has been shut down, some representatives even went in jail on World IP Day few years ago. As for the rotary switch - it´s a part patented by TLG, so that CaDA has made their own substitute as soon as they learned about it. Same for the differentials. You don´t care, but would extend the logic etc. There is a difference between selfish, unreflected carelessness and the real serious business where you have to make distinctions, chase opportunities and take the game to a higher level. The entire Technic building system could not be patented forever, as the brick itself, and that´s why it is 100% legitimate for other brands to exist! A few unique pieces isn't really taking the game to a higher level here. This is why I think it's so weird to focus on just patented pieces, when the entire building system is copied from the beginning. 30 minutes ago, brunojj1 said: The entire Technic building system could not be patented forever, Again, don't really care about patents.
