All the technic panels are more rounded than we're used to.

I did notice this in the Arctic Cat as well, and I think this is really nice, they indeed flow much better when panels are put next to each other. I never understood why lego made their wing-shaped panels pointy, it always leaves a gap when they are connected.. Maybe they were designed to be used more in isolation originally?

Spoiler alert: There are no stickers in this model

I'm thinking this might be because it's technically an AMG not a Mercedes per se. Much like the AMG GT, it's an AMG ONE not a Mercedes AMG ONE. I could also be entirely wrong :)

AMG is 100% owned by Mercedes. It used to be a separate group of tuners specialized in tuning Mercedes cars. These days it's a performance branding that is put on a lot of high end Mercedes cars like the C63 (an otherwise "normal" sedan).

But I could be very wrong as well

I'm a bit late to CADA party.. but this all seems really impressive stuff! And designed by guys off this forum? Sorry for stating the obvious.. just a bit late to CADA!!

Comments seem mostly positive, are there any downsides to be aware of? (A lot of pages to read, which i am doing). Trying to get up to speed....

Many say (including myself) that parts quality is not as good as lego, mainly problems with clutch power of pins/axles. And also servos are not proportional..

I am aware of this, my point was that the road car is an AMG ONE much like the AMG GT. You and I both know they are a Merc but they don't call the road car a MERC AMG GT or ONE. And like I said, I could be entirely wrong. Just a thought as to why the Mercedes symbol is not emblazoned on the front of the box

Just got this in the mail...

Man, these wheels are so freakin AWESOME :pir-love: !!! The rims and tires are printed, no joking. Kudos to the CaDA R&D team who shook this glorious formula out of the sleeve :pir-thumb: !

Are there any CADA evets/meetups/exhibitions.in Europe?

Unfortunately not yet, other than the yearly participation at the Nürnberg Toy Fair. There will be a kinda grand opening at the Freakware warehouse in Kerpen later this year, no date announced yet. They have the general importer license in EU/Germany for Doubleeagle/CaDA.

How is the grip/traction on those sleek tires? Are those rubber like or are those more like plastic?

I'm also wondering how this kind of surface will age on the rubber tire because if it'll go bad over years, then I'd think about stocking up on those :D

The grip feels really nice as it should be. It´s made entirely of rubber and I can´t wait to see a big 1/3 scale gocart made of them, racing on steroids :excited: !

I´ll ask CaDA to stock them up in the spare parts section as soon as possible, along with neutral rims (w/o prints).

The clutch power of CaDA pins and axles has had issues in the past, but is now right on point. Like really, right on point. They must have made new molds for a lot of parts.

Now Lego deleted the slot in their 2L pins, CaDA pins might actually be superior. There... I said it!

Is this one of your designs? If so, congratulations. It really puts the Lego McLaren to shame with those tires and rims, and the body shaping and overall design looks significantly better too. Before I place an order, could you confirm for me if there are any other printed elements in the set, or if the rest of the body work is stickered?

My designs are usually labeled with my signature "design by B.Jenson", if not modified or stolen by pirates. The F1 car was designed by the R&D department in the company, not a single person to blame

There are 4 sheets of 73 transparent stickers in total - it requires a lot of patience and accuracy to implement them.

I´m glad they are not printed, since I want to have the newer panels available for other builds.

Hopefully mine arrives in the mail this week.

@brunojj1 I'm assuming bought from the official CaDA site they get shipped in the original box?

CaDa is always sending the complete package.

👍  That’s how I always thought LEGO was designed until I joined up here years ago and got disappointed in knowing that one person designs a set.

Not always. The first counterexample that pops in my mind is the Mack Anthem, whose tractor was designed by Milan Reindl and the trailer by Markus Kossmann.

Yes, the front rims have the standard dimensions you are used to in the 1/8 scale. The tires are approx. 88mm in height (same height as Daytona tires). The rear rims are wider = 52mm / rear tires = 56mm.

Or back in the good old days, the A-model was made by one designer and the B-model by another.

After doing some research and listening to what the good people here have had to say I went and made my first CaDA purchase a few weeks ago.

For anyone wondering about the CaDA Alfa Romeo F1 and the Lego McLaren F1 counterpart I thought I'd do a bit of a comparison. I don't know if anyone is interested or even cares but i'll do it anyway. I'm from Australia so anyone in my region wondering I bought it about 2 and a half weeks ago. It took about 5 days to change from purchased to sent but from there shipping was very fast.

CaDA Alfa Romeo F1 vs Lego McLaren F1

Price - I paid $210 delivered for the Alfa vs $250 for the McLaren

Presentation - The Alfa is presented like the Lego 1:8 supercars vs the McLaren is presented like a standard set. The materials with which the box is made of look/feel a little lower quality to that of Lego but that's neither here nor there when you look at the overall presentation

Parts - I'll start by saying I'm still early in the build but, CaDA seem to manufacturing a lot more unique parts for their sets rather than Lego "use what we have" approach. Depending on where you stand will determine how you feel about that. This could be due to manufacturing costs giving them more freedom to do so or CaDA continuing to build inventory since they're not at the same level as Lego. However the wheels and slicks for the Alfa are by far superior to that of the McLaren (Lego take note). So far the rest of the parts look to be of a good quality, and the pins give a satisfying click when pressed into the bricks, beams, panels etc. The axles have a feeling like they're not quite as good a quality as Lego but time will tell. With the Alfa being a display piece more than anything this may be inconsequential (this may be an issue with the power functions sets), time will tell. Also looks like a lot less colour vomit compared to Lego

Stickers - I'm not up to having to apply any yet but again this will be something that you won't find out until 6-12 months into the future. I'm a little worried about the clear stickers compared to the coloured stickers of Lego. I feel like any imperfections will be very noticeable. I think a lot of care will need to be taken during application (someone with more experience may be able to elaborate). Little disappointed that there is no option to sticker it as Valtarri Bottas but being a Chinese company with a Chinese driver I can understand.

Summary - Seems like a very good product and I'll have no issue with buying from them again. For anyone looking for a supercheap alternative to Lego, this is not the product you're looking for, and that's a good thing.

Finally - It's not Lego :) Also if I knew how to attach decent photos I would have added a couple

I for one appreciate the comparisons.  I have several models, and just finished the LaFerrari.  I think the builds are actually far superior that Lego now.  Not so much for piece quality, but for the complexity of the build, lack of color vomit, and challenge.  Because many of their advanced builder series (or whatever they are called) are done by AFOLs and don't have the restrictions of a multi-billion, international company just the models themselves are better builds period.  I think they allow their builders so much more freedom.  There are so many techniques or connections that would never be allowed on an official Lego model.

Also, your comment about CADA producing what seems more unique pieces.  I agree.  I wonder if it challenges the old adage that new, unique models are incredibly expensive to produce.
