Jeff of Clubs Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 (edited) Some quick moc-ups for some Oleon activity in the New Haven Sea. Preperations and the like. Fusiliers of the fabled Essener's Death's Heads, join in patrols and picket duties alongside our own infantry on the outskirts of Fort Arltrees. A company of these stout Carnite line-infantry have been garrisoned at Fort Arltrees since the previous Battle of El Oleonda. ... Meanwhile, in Nouveau Oleandia, a newly arrived "one-man-army" assumes picket duties around the settlement. Banging drums, firing off rigged muskets in volleys and brutalizing an old sheet of tin with his sword, the lout attempts to conflate the size of the garrison for any distant observers. Thanks! Just some scenes to convey activity in these settlements as the issue looms. Bit busy for a week or two but squeezed these in this week. Stumbled on @Khornes boys in the archives. I am hoping they are actually still in Ft Arltrees. If not, lemme know and I'll rework it. Edited February 4, 2022 by Jeff of Clubs Quote

Khorne Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 Small builds, but with plenty of juicy details! I love the drinking cart in the first picture. The big barrel gives it a cartoonish look, even though it's also grounded in reality. I like how the scene is tranquil with the different soldiers simply enjoying a drink and chatting. I love that you've included some Essian soldiers. They are still very much present in Fort Arltrees to aid in its defense. Personally, I never used epaulettes for the soldiers because Essen is a really pragmatic society and they see too much decoration as gaudy or pompous. They prefer to keep things practical. The only units with epaulettes are the uhlans, because those wear copied uniforms. I've gathered all of the background info currently available in this guide, which I still update every know and then. Still, I'm nitpicking here and I do applaud the inclusion . The second scene is equally great, if not better! The idea for the fake dummy soldiers is so good and very well executed. I really love that scene. Quote
Brickwolf Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 Good builds. I really like the water car and the fake soldiers. Kudos for using the Essener's Death's Heads! Quote
blackdeathgr Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 aexcellent mini-builds! As others said, the fake soldiers are awesome both in bricks and in posture!!! Quote
NOD Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 A good story and builds. The water truck is well built and looks interesting with the soldiers. The second photo is funny! Quote
Jeff of Clubs Posted February 4, 2022 Author Posted February 4, 2022 Thanks all. The scare-lotii gave me giggles. After all, 'deception is the greater part of valour'. That was the word right? Lol. Yeah, the watercart's proportions aren't great but I just wanted to make a 'tun' barrel for some reason...also, this is Oleon we are talking about, who said it's full of water anyways? @Khorne, Whoa!!! I didn't know you singlehandedly made BOBPrussians!!! That page you've made for them is just capital! I'm thrilled to have already added to that page, albiet accidentally. As the MOC above is concerned, the orientation and minis used are the only way I could realistically represent them but I don't know how I got the notion to put epaulets on them. Too much time in the lace-lined finery of of Oleon, I suppose. Quote
Ross Fisher Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 Love these guys. Particularly the one-man-army. Very Baden-Powell of you. Quote
