February 10, 20223 yr I belive real 2022 cars will look also better without these covers Great model! In my deepest childhood I had A2 (or even bigger) calendar with stylized Red-White-Black photos of F1 of that era. That was the Time! Your creation takes us back to these extremelly dangerous (yeah, we will never forget them...) but glorious times when not the money but daredevil geniuses were the winners.

"Problem" is that 42141 set represents 2022 F1 car which has 18" wheels with lower profile tires (regulations based) and this (I suppose) MP4-5 has 13" with high profile tires (tires that move more and act a bit like extra suspension). Tumbler tire is a"fat" tire, or tire with volume (not low profile)... Really hard to tell, but I suppose that would be one if first mods.
February 10, 20223 yr Very nice!!! I agree that Tumbler tires fit really well here but the 2022 one should wear something more alike Dom's Charger ones.

But tires from 42000 are not slicks, they are imitating tires introduced in 1998...very confusing indeed
February 10, 20223 yr Looks really nice, I like the paneling, the livery is well made, nothing cluttered, just smooth! That was the time when I used to follow F1 races..
February 11, 20223 yr Damn, dude, this design can not be f*cked up with a cheap implementation! You just have to make a real Technic out of it! And right now is the time to do it, now or never! This design is just made to kick Lego's lazy megablocks.
February 12, 20223 yr Author Here's a short video. Obviously I can't floor it to show the max speed due to space limitations. Can't test it outdoors right now because of snow sadly. Â
February 14, 20223 yr I love this little detail of wishbones going through the system bricks at the front. Great job on this model!
February 14, 20223 yr Nice job on this one! It Seems to perform quite well It would only be better if you built the Ferrari of that era InsteadÂ

McLaren Honda dominated that era and Ferrari is the only company that was part of F1 from beginning; every season and of course Ferrari is also a legend.
