As the heroes gather around the sleeping Bertram, the group puts their heads together and with all their experience come up with a solution. Jonk deftly adjusts the levers as the machine powers down, the dwarf slowly regaining conciousness.

"Oh my head... was wondering when ya lot were goin' to show up."

Rix moves forward and unlocks the dwarf's chains, before turning to the party indicating the rest of the room.

"What else do you folks need? Or where to next?"

"Maybe stick with us right?" Aysu shrugged. "You hired us to be muscle so running off ahead kinda defeats the whole thing."

"We're only two rooms away from where we came in, I'm surprised we found you here."
Enson glowered at the imprudent young turnip before him. "As for your friend, you can see for yourself he's not here. Why are you here anyway? You hired us, the experts, to do this job for you. Why do you seem to think your presence is required? You'd do much better by waiting outside out of our way."

Enson will inspect the broken robot and the other cabinet.

"Hey now, no need to get snippy. He's my friend. Of course I'm coming with." Bertram seems unconvinced of Enson's argument.

The Quo'ri finds the other cabinet occupied by a golden scorpion, and sheefs of lab notes. Under one particular file he finds a torn piece of paper.

The robot seems to be quite disreppaired, but with a little elbow grease could probably be repurposed to carry someone of a small stature.

"Calm down Enson, I'm sure he didn't mean for himself to get captured right away, right? So, the previous room had some doors we couldn't get through, but here's something interesting."

Jonk inspects the grooves on the wall to the right.

"Anyone good with machines? I can break 'em but not sure about fixing them." Aysu looked at the wrecked robot. "Though if I give it a go, I might get lucky eh?" Aysu tried a few basic fixes on the broken machine.

As he spoke, Enson leant over the broken robot and began to fiddle with it, trying to use the Exo-Suit to modify it.

Enson will equip the utility belt and assist Aysu with Engineering. He will also attempt to incorporate the Exo-Suit to make the task easier.

"It doesn't matter if it's his fault or not. We can't reliably keep him safe while he's with us, and if he dies then we have failed even if we save his friend. Which, to be clear, I intend to do no matter what happens."

Jonk finds the outline of a secret passage, but is unable to find the appropriate mechanism to open it. The Celestial can hear voices on the other side of the door, though the exact words are muffled.

MM Note: @Duvors I'm ok if you want to try and convince Bertram to leave, just bold your action if you decide to go down that path.

Jonk also takes the key in the middle of the room and peruses the other items for anything useful or interesting.

As the Celestial runs his hands across the wall, he finds a slight impression next to the door.

Jonk Perception Check (DC 1,3,5) - (1,1,1,1) 0 Successes

Jonk notes the key is for containment unit 22A. A quick glance around the room yields little of interest to the hero, a table filled with alchemical solutions, a display cabinet with another weapon, a lab bench with scientific experiments, another table with some sort of creature peering back at him.

They chose to be who they are while you made a mistake and are being ground up in their gears." Enson sighed. "Do you really think your friend will appreciate hearing that you died while tying to rescue him? your mother? your uncle? I presume you care about them."

Enson will use Insight in an attempt to make future persuasion checks easier.

Enson shook his head. "Listen, if you insist on going with us can you at least carry things when asked? I assume you do want to be somewhat helpful"

Enson sidled over to the door that Jonk had found. "So," he said quietly, "are we sneaking in, or..." he drew out the Spider Bomb, "well, not?"

Turing his attention to the secret door, he shrugged his shoulders and said "Well, no-one has said not to..."
And with that he swiftly opened the door and tossed the Spider Bomb in.

An explosion goes off in the passage followed by a yelp of pain.

"What in the ever loving Hel!"

A minute later a singed and pale looking individual emerges into the lab.

"Ah has the good doctor decided to join us?"

"Sod, how did you get out?"

Rix unsheathes the rime dagger menacingly.

"Does it matter? The question you should be more concerned with is would you prefer your death fast or slow, Doc?"

The humanoid glances at the rest of the group, keeping his hand on the secret door.

"You let this loon out? Look we can come to some sort of an arrangement, right?"

[Scubacarrot]

"Hi, I am Jonk. Maybe we can, we are looking for Jippo, and we have reason to believe you have him."

Jonk quickly rattles off their demands.

"Give him back to us, pay for our expenses, release any other sentient subjects like Wolly, Rix and Bertram here, let us talk to Tandy, and then we will allow you and any leftover goons to leave the station without being shot out an airlock. In pieces"

Enson glowered at the doctor a moment, before pushing past him and looking through the door to see who he'd been talking to.

MM Note: Just an FYI, neither Aysu or Jonk have intimidation as a proficiency, so there is no assistance to give in this case.

Rix glares at Enson before stewing in the background.

"And how will you know if he is lying?"
