Jay has a good theory about the new BAM torsos being for a new faction - white or silver falcons. Nice idea, although they'd have to be significant in some way to bring in something new when there are so many existing ones.

https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/are-lego-introducing-a-new-castle-faction-the-white-falcons/

better than nothing I guess, but honestly, we just had, still having, the black falcons. too similar to be interesting imo, the lack of lore doesn't help

It is hard for me to make a faction out of just a minifig torso. AND that is assuming I can get my hands on 20 or more of these figs.  This is especially true when the sigil is found on the back of the minifig.  They need some shields or banners to signify who they are and make them identifiable from the front when I assemble them into units.  If I was able to get enough of these figs, "White falcons" is not a name for this faction I find attractive at all.  White Eagle, Osprey, Hawks, or birds of prey would be better IMHO.

I suppose the white bird from the cape would be easy enough to print out onto some sort of sticker and applied to a flag/banner.  However, being a purist, I have never done that in the past.  In fact, I have never really had to... as most of the past CMFs have come with their own shields that clearly signify what faction they belong to.

I would still get as many as you can. knights are rare, I missed the last cmf knight, the tournament one due to a lack of interest in lego at the time, regrets!  Also, a faction can be in alluance with other knights or smaller factions, we aren't bound by any lore.

According to Brickmerge, the price for this is  379,99 € , while Promobricks and Stonewars both list €349,99.

Given some of the pricing of new sets recently, maybe it is €379 but it's only 2000 parts. Star Wars dioramas, Stunz loops, some of the City stuff, and even the Creator Viking Ship feels very pricey. Let's hope it's more MK The Heavenly Realms and less Iron Man armory.

Your comparing a licensed set to this which has no bearing.  The star wars are licensed and the stuntz sets have new pricey molds.  The MK sets seem to have leveled out in price with the new wave especially the Heavenly realms set but will have to see with prices of a smaller set.  There is no way it's only 2000 parts, I hope you are being sarcastic.  I'm hoping the figs have the quality of the new ninjago sets and a great looking castle with some horses like the good old days.

Yes, sarcasm on 2000 pieces, and I realize that there's licensing and be moulds involved. But despite those things, some of then feel very expensive for what they are, and it's just a little worrying, given that I think we're all getting our hopes up for something spectacular, because of such a high price point. Maybe it's just going to be expensive because of all the other global factors. So I'm hoping for something not along the lines of The Heavenly Realms set, which, by comparison, seems good value.

wonder why they didn't reveal it alongside the other summer sets.

Because it's an August set and not June.

(at least that's what's expected as August is the anniversary month, and August was mentioned at first rumours.)

Also might be kept "secret" longer due to likely being exclusive to LEGO.com /stores at release.

The 90th anniversary brick box was already reviewed, and is currently available, but has a May 1st release date.

That is mostly if not only normal retail sets, limited and or D2C sets may be revealed very close to when they hit the shelf's and this may be both

So we can still get e.g. a bigger farm set this summer if it is a limited set

Crossing our little piggies for that one.

Yeah some sets are expensive.  This year looks like I'm going to have to prioritize sets and pieces off of pick a brick because there are so many large and expensive sets I want this year.  It really comes down to the build and the minifigs.  Definitely picking up Heavenly Realms and a bunch of the ninjago sets, The Hungarian horntail and maybe another HP set, and of course the castle coming this year.  I'm really hoping that pick a brick comes back up so we can get the farm animals and pieces we need.

Im hoping for the 380.  Means a bigger castle.  I wouldnt care if it was $1000.  In fact, I want it to be.  The bigger the better!

Ok, enjoy your little selfish “window” and get back to normal ;)

+2. Need to make up for the lack of normal castle sets in the past decade with a large set.

I would be happy with the smaller one. I can see a $380 set having 20 minifigs, but a $1000 won't have 60. I would rather buy 3 $380 sets for more minifigs and hope that I can work out how to expand the castle as it is. For me - I don't need extra bricks, I need more castle minifigs and the like rather than some extra bricks.

OOkay, it’s May and we have 3 months left until August! I hope we will see some glimpsed images of this castle soon.

I wonder if there would be GWP for this castle….

I think that there was a rumoured GWP set number some time ago. I'd certainly expect one for the price and the occasion

Edit: found it - it's rumoured to be set 40567

The common wisdom suggests that we won’t see pics until July. I’m tired of waiting already.

Same hee, I just want to see pictures already.

@timemail As much as I'd love to see 20 figures in this set, I can see LEGO giving us 10, maybe even fewer. They seem to be quite stingy on minifigures in most sets.

Fewer than ten would be almost comical manning a castle that figures to be the biggest ever. I expect between 15 and 20.

I don't know if I'd generalize that sort of thing for "premium" sets like this new castle. I mean, this year's City Hospital and Lunar New Year Ice Festival had more than a dozen minifigs each. And last year's Daily Bugle, and Ninjago City Gardens, which are close to this castle's rumored price, had more than 20 each!

The Creator 3-in-1 castle, pirate ship, and viking ship certainly had far fewer minifigs than earlier sets depicting similar subjects, but that's mostly just because that theme in general tends to be far less minifigure-focused than "play themes" like City, Castle, or Pirates — as of yet, NO Creator 3-in-1 set has ever come with more than 5 minifigures.

Plus, minifigs such as uniformed archers and castle guards are able to share more decorations with on another than more individualized characters like you'd expect to find in other themes.

This seems like a reasonable prediction. I think 12 is the absolute lowest number I'd anticipate, given what little we know of the set so far — and I don't really expect them to go that low unless they're trying to budget for a bunch of uniquely-printed animals or something.

I generally don't mind what minifigures come with a set, but thinking about the story that the set needs to tell, you'd surely have to have closer to 20 than 10. Medieval Blacksmith was fine with only four figures, as the story suited that perfectly. Definitely need a lot more for a castle. And that's why Ninjago City, docks, and gardens all had loads. I can see LEGO doing the same thing with the castle.

Would you rather have 1000 more pieces or 10 more minifigs?

3,500 pieces and 20 minifigs vs. 4,500 pieces and 10 minifigs.
