Posted June 25, 200816 yr I have recently been working on entries for a GAW contest: Original post: Say you are a designer, working for TLC and you are asked to make any Clone Wars sets, what would you make? You are told that you have five categories for the set to fit in: 1) An Impulse-type set with under 30 pieces. This has to contain only one minifigure and a small vehicle or piece of scenery. Use baseplates no bigger than 8x8 (vignette-sized) 2) A battlepack-type set with under 110 pieces. You must have at least three minifigures or droids but no more than five, included with a light vehicle and accessory or scenery. Baseplates aren't allowed in this category. 3) A small-sized set with under 120 pieces. You can have up to three minifigures or four droids in this set, assisted by a light or medium vehicle or moderate scenery. Use baseplates no bigger than 12x12. 4) A medium-sized set with under 400 pieces. You can have up to four minifigures or eight droids, as well as a medium and light vehicle and/or scenery. Baseplates can be no larger than 16x32. 5) A large-sized set with under 800 pieces. You can have up to six minifigures or ten droids in this set, along with any type of vehicle and scenery. For this, you may use more than one vehicle! Please limit baseplate size to a maximum of 32x32! Rules: 1. You can use any Star Wars-related vehicle, ship, scenery, minifigure. It doesn't have to be a ship/vehicle/minifigure/scenery piece included in the movies - MOCs are fine too. 2. You may have a maximum of five entries, one for each category. 3. You can use custom minifigures and parts if you wish - be creative! 4. Only LEGO bricks allowed, no megablocks. 5. Must be a Clone Wars-related set. 6. Please include a picture of all of the pieces used so that we know how many you used! 7. Contest ends on July 1st. Voting will decide the winner. There will be a winner in each category and then an overall winner, voted on from each of the winners of the five categories. Prizes: Impulse-type set Winner: TBA Battlepack-type set Winner: TBA Small-sized set Winner: TBA Medium-sized set Winner: TBA Large-sized set Winner: *$30 worth of goods from Arealight's store Be creative - you are only limited by your imagination! The 313th Legion learns of a droid prototype deep in enemy territory. The mission will be tough, and the enemies will be large in numbers, but it is the Legion’s job to retrieve, investigate, and if needed, destroy the prototype. This dangerous mission will be labeled mission X. Mission X: Phase One Create the distraction! Before the 313th can break through enemy lines, a distraction is required. Cell, the leader of the 313th's Sniper Regiment, is in charge of these distractions. He and his sniper squad have set up multiple “Portable Armored Sniping Posts” or PASP for short. This set includes Commander Cell, his custom sniper gun, and a PASP. (Impulse style) http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/62006 Mission X: Phase Two Smash through the door and steal the prototype! Senior Clone Commander Old Papa and one of the clones have made it the prototype. But can they steal it? This set includes the door, a droid work station, the prototype, two droids, a clone and Old Papa. (Battle pack style) http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/62013 Mission X: Phase Three Get the prototype out of there! Old Papa hands the prototype off to Commander Kuplo of the 313th’s Mechanized Regiment. Kuplo’s job is quick and easy; get the prototype back to base for analysis and possible destruction. However, Kuplo is stopped in his tracks by a droid ambush! This set includes Kuplo, two Mechanized Troopers, and two droids and the prototype. (Medium-sized set) Edited June 25, 200816 yr by Zepher
June 25, 200816 yr Hey there! Cool contest and nice entries you have there I like your small set the best, the one with the door and clones/droids. Nice idea, this could really be in a small battlepack. There's a similar contest going on here on EB maybe you'd like to join in? Benny
June 25, 200816 yr Nice mocs! I am going to agree with vaders_son... The small one is the best. Clever use of the Iron Drone.
