End of a Reviewing Era

Exactly. And yes, it was a bummer to hear, but let's be honest (without starting political debate); compared to all the other things going on the world, this is not something to complain about. 

Being in good health with your loved ones and being able to do the things you love is way more important than being left out of embargoed reviews. You gotta keep things in perspective, something people tend to forget sometimes.

I told you @Jim this already, but will write it here again - I really hope that this move from TLG won't be the definite end of the excellent reviews we enjoyed through many years here on Eurobricks, and all the hard work behind them will receive the "official" appreciation they deserve. They've been around long before I even thought about making anything similar, and provided great value to the fans.

I also hope some day you'll be able to sneak in at least a temporary studio setup in a corner of your house, I would love to see more of those painfully perfect photos I always envied. Doesn't even need to be LEGO, you are free to find a more interesting subject

I still have the stands for the lights, so all I need is a removable backdrop. I'm sure I will figure something out when that special occasion arises 

(and I still need to shoot all my MOCs hehe)

To be honest when I look on some solutions used by Lego, I first search for your reviews and your gorgeous pictures have me often idea in which direction to go with my MOCs. I'm happy that now you'll have more time for building and also (as you mentioned) for other hobbies.

I always enjoyed reading your reviews @Jim - beautifully structured with photos to match. As well as being pleasing to look at, your photos often served as a good reference for me for new parts (high quality, taken from the right angles), so that I will miss. Thank you for all of the work you have done over the years.

This is sad to read but it is what it is. And I guess there's still a chance you might review a set you happened to purchase yourself in your own time, without having to meet some deadline? . No pressure though .

Like I said; there are worse things in life. And yes, maybe I will keep photographing the sets I build and come up with a new review format, with just the pics and a short summary at the end. At that time I probably won't be able to provide any useful insights, except for sharing my building experience. We'll see what the future brings.

Really enjoyed all your reviews and always considered them sort of special. They even convinced me to buy sets I never thought I would get either. They will be missed, however I hope this gives you more time for more, other, fun pursuits.

I returned from my dark ages in 2019 and have never been an active member of this community, but your reviews are simply the best. As I attempt to make up for my many years away (and look for which used sets to purchase), your reviews have been my guiding light. Thank you for this work over the years, and best of luck with the renovations.

Thanks for all your reviews here over the years. I definitely prefer them over the youtubers, but agree that user activity is headed in the latter direction these days, and it's a good time to move on.
