I just noticed my member number here is 1497, and I was thinking how cool it would be if it was 1499 as it would be a rare classic space set, my favourite theme as I grew up with it.

Anyway, I decided to check out what set 1497 is, and it turns out it's a cute pit stop and crew, perhaps I'll have to get myself one now

So does your member number match a set you like or dislike, I want to hear about it!

Seems I got your classic space set, though it's one I never owned. It's not bad at all.

An unusual, but fascinating idea for a thread. It'll give people a chance to explore the sets of the past.

Thanks for starting it!

I have that set, and I love it, it was only a US release so I had to pay big $s for it as an adult, but it was definitely worth it. It looks like our member numbers here just make it into the star wars minis and the old star wars minifig packs.

Indeed, a great idea, except I'm not completely sold on the set that my number corresponds to :D

I actually remember this set. Perhaps my sister had it.

Cheers,

This is a great topic indeed! My member number is 2562. Unfortnately, there is no set which corresponds to that number. However, those numbers can be found in exactly the same sequence in set 4202562, which is the LEGO football. This is a nice coincidence since the European soccer championship 2008 is taking place in Austria and Switzerland, and I am Austrian!

Well then, I have good news, bad news and then a slightly positive twist to it.

The good news is that the one you showed isn't the only set 309. This is the other one.

The bad news is that it's really old and not a spectacular build, though not terrible and certainly better than a scala bracelet. :hmpf:

The positive twist is that on all of Bricklink, there is only one listed. Used / Complete: $850.

In an interesting historical note, the printed brick seemed to evolve over the course of the production, plus there were two versions anyway to start with. They're all rare, none appear on Bricklink individually. Since they're all pre-ABS, they're probably warped too. :sceptic:

That single tree only appeared in one other set ever and currently asks $25 - $32.50.

You're expensive!
