GerritvdG Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Excited to share this new creation of Akiyuki in the case you didn't saw it yet. I think it's really exceptional! Quote
howitzer Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Very impressive, as is always the case with Akiyuki's creations. Quote
2GodBDGlory Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 I watched this earlier today! It's an amazing piece of work, beautifully overcomplicated and precise, with a great steampunk feel to it. I want one on my wall now! Quote
Davidz90 Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Beautiful and impressively precise. I didn't expect motor rpms to be so stable. Quote
Gray Gear Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Incredible. I am lost for words. I just love everything about this clock Quote
Toastie Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 For me, it is not only another level - this was built in another universe. Completely unbelievable. The video is also excellent ... Wow. Quote
aeh5040 Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 (edited) Just when you think Akiyuky could not possibly outdo himself again... A bit of a pity the hour hand is not somehow mechanically actuated by the minute hand. (But I've no idea how). Edited May 29, 2022 by aeh5040 Quote

Maybe add 12 pins to the circular gear rack the hour hand is attached to and another lever, actuated by minute hand, that advances the rack by 1 pin? I agree that would be neat but regardless, this is a masterpiece. Quote

Perhaps one position on the minute ring could have a lever that gets "pushed through" by the seconds pusher, and pushes another lever similar to the minutes-advancing one? (No need to "reinvent the wheel", perhaps? :) ) Edited May 29, 2022 by aeh5040 Quote
MinusAndy Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 If this was in my wall I’d never leave the house. Absolutely mesmerising. Even down to the circular constructions. Quote
bricklets Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Hi everybody! When I saw this thing a while ago on youtube it raised so much questions I just needed to see for myself, so I decided to try and build one :D Most mind blowing build I've ever done and probably will ever do. And all my other Lego builds seem insignificant now lol. Thanks Akiyuki for creating this and sharing your detailed video! Aside from color I tried to keep it as original as possible as far as I could see in the video. But I did redesign the foot of the stand, as it was kinda flexible and leaning forwards, and I reinforced the top of the stand a little so I can grab it without worrying too much. Thanks for looking :) few more pictures on instagram Quote
Jonas Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Super! It is nice to see that somebody was able to recreate this Akiyuki's masterpiece. I would appreciate some more detailed photos. Quote
lcvisser Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 wow, amazing work! I second the call for more pictures. How many parts are in there, approximately? I missed this originally, so thanks also for bringing it back in the spotlight! Quote
Davidz90 Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 Magnificent! I like this color scheme even more than original. Quote
nychase Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 @bricklets Do you have any desire to post more pictures or did you happen to make a digital file as you went along? Would love to get instructions for this and it wouldn't exactly be the first time we have reverse engineered from Akiyuki ;) Quote
