StudWorks Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 (edited) I added thegbrix's headlight mod from ReBrickable since his modded area above the headlights match that of the real SP3. The issue is, they're very flimsy. I have tried finding a way to reinforce the assembly so panels won't move, but I couldn't. Any advice would be appreciated. Am I the only one who thinks those black "fins" in the front, are way too far out by default? I think they should be half a stud, if not 1 stud more inwards. Especially if you do a headlight mod, they become even bigger Edited December 22, 2022 by KKO Quote

Nick00 Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 (edited) I wanted to ask you; how did you do the silver finish? did you use a sharpie, or before painting the wheels, did you cover the spokes with paper tape? On 6/19/2022 at 11:58 AM, Polarlicht said: Edited January 10, 2023 by Nick00 Quote
Polarlicht Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 No, but you could use like a paint-pen. I used regular black spray paint and silver Revell color on a tooth pick. No tape. Quote

Addition Red Bionicle mounted in the horizontal plane too. Registration Plate Update. Thank you very much on the instructions for the front bumper, it looks awesome. astyanax Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Did no-one yet realize that fits seamlessly to round off the front? Also, can replace the black Bionicle tooth in the headlight, as shown above. A glow-in-the-dark tooth fits perfectly above it, if you like an angry nighttime look. Quote

Is there a way to use some black parts to hide the gap in each side of the bonnet? I know they are supposed to be holes but they show color vomit parts under it, so maybe place some black parts under the holes but still as part of the bonnet assembly Quote

KKO Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 I tried both options, not sure which one I like better Quote
astyanax Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 I guess the first is more accurate -- I just proposed the second to get a mean look in the dark, if the tooth is glow-in-the-dark. I'd prefer the second for that reason alone... Quote

I'd prefer the second for that reason alone... Yeah, I used a clear tooth cause I'm planning to add lights. But I think I'll keep the first version. I've also updated the side mirrors, saw this on some Cada car I think. Don't have a #3 connector in black yet, but I'd also like to try with a #4, which I also don't have, to see how it looks. Quote
astyanax Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 I'd build my side mirrors like this: By using a click hinge we can transition to a plate , from where we arrive in System-land, such we can build the mirror thin and elegantly (IMO)... I also changes a bit the connection to the wheel arch, such that only black is on top. For reference: Spoiler Quote

Received a the Bugatti 42151 for parts, so was able to put @astyanax mod in place. It significantly strengthens the front end too, I can now pick it up without dislodging the slopes on mine. In the original build you have to replace the 13 beam in front with a 11 beam, otherwise the new part has no room to be placed. Quote
