Dr. Brick Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 B-T-2D Hi Everybody Maybe you still remember my Train Station MOC: Now there was one big problem with this version: the price. I don't remember the exact price but it was somthing like €800! Now that it finally is holiday I had time to design a new (cheaper) version. Here is the result: The biggest difference is the number of rails used as beams. But is it cheaper? I am proud to tell you that I succeeded in pulling the price down to €422.12! (This is the price though without the train tracks, because they aren't registered LDD parts anymore ) Here are a few more pics: Feel free to comment! Dr. Brick Quote
BillytheKid Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 I really liked your idea. I even wanted to build one myself, but how come it will costs €800,-? Quote
Dr. Brick Posted June 29, 2008 Author Posted June 29, 2008 (edited) I really liked your idea. I even wanted to build one myself, but how come it will costs €800,-? Because of all the train tracks I used in the first version. LDD still worked with 9 volt tracks, whiche were expensive. In this model it nicer to use the new plastic ones. I'm actually thinking I might build the train station myself, in time for Zwolle 2008. Dr. Brick Edited June 29, 2008 by Dr. Brick Quote
maiq the liar Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Good price reduction, but it's still too impractically expensive Quote
BillytheKid Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 When not looking to the costs.....it's very big. Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Needless to say this is excellent. I would however reduce the height of the building by at least the height of one rail track. Quote
Dr. Brick Posted June 30, 2008 Author Posted June 30, 2008 Needless to say this is excellent.I would however reduce the height of the building by at least the height of one rail track. The building is so high because I'm still planning to design a main building to fit at the end. In this design the rails will go under the building. I want to make the ground floor of the main building the same hight as the roof. So it has to be high enough for trains to fit under it. This may look a bit ugly on just one seperate module but I'm sure that if you'll have the complete thing it will look nice. Dr. Brick Quote
