Posted June 29, 200816 yr Hi, fantastic message board I just stumbled across in the last month or so. I think the UCS Falcon is great but have been hesitant on purchasing it as I was bothered by the fact that there was no interior. I understand it wasn't really possible in order for the ship to maintain its structural integrity but if I bought it, I'd be more inclined to display it than anything else. Has anybody tried to customize this to expand the cockpit and accomodate an interior? I truly look forward to hearing from all of you. Please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong section. Mike
June 29, 200816 yr Well, I have it, but haven't tried to get an interior in, hate to ruin your dreams here but its not possible...(or is it?)
June 29, 200816 yr As long as the inside is mainly technic beams with sapce inbetween, then yes. For example, I am adding a sleeping quarters in the underside of my Dino Attack chopper. However, this takes time and good mechanics. Things must be added and removed, replced and substituted. However, I'm sure it is possible! Welocme to the forums, BTW.
June 29, 200816 yr Author I am hoping it is possible. There is a guy in Michigan named Brian. I've come across one of his MOCs but I am not sure how to get in touch with him. I mainly collect vintage Star Wars so I am new to Lego although loved it as a kid. Here's the link to his stuff: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/349 Although maybe this is a strict MOC and not a modification. Mike
June 29, 200816 yr Hey Mike P. I think your post here is probably ok but why don't you post in the Hi! My Name Is... Forum so that we can get to know you a little better and properly welcome you to this wonderful community. Have fun!
June 29, 200816 yr Hi Mike, the MF your link is leading to appears to be a pure MOC. If you read all over the site you see he started this in 84/85! (Wow now that's a long time) Tho it looks pretty similar to TLC's product from the outside I'd say Benny
June 29, 200816 yr Author Benny, Thanks for the reply. The more I read over his site, I see you are right about that. I guess I can purchase a falcon then figure out what to do with it. The set is predominantly made of grey bricks. I live near a lego store. If I start customizing, will it be easy to obtain extra bricks in that color or are they only specific to the set? Thanks, Mike
June 29, 200816 yr Maybe you should check out if they have a Pick a Brick in the store, or check the lego.com PaB. Also there's always Bricklink if you need special bricks of any sort
