Alright, for my second entry into this contest I went and redesigned a Taintive IV into a J-wing corvette. Does this ship exceed the size limit? Possibly, but it sure has some muscles huh? :D It comfortably sits 2 pilots in the front cockpit and does have ample cargo space in the middle. However, for it's bulk, most interior space is limited and the main focus is on the systems, weapons, and oversized engines.

The back story for this ship was that the Rebel Alliance salvaged a heavily damaged Correllian Corvette from a space battle, with only the engines, mid hull section, and radar systems in good enough condition to be stripped. The rest of the ship had to be scrapped. Therefore, Rebel engineers decided to try a new approach by rotating the main engines in a vertical formation, beefing up the central hull, and add the distinctive J hook at the front to form a cockpit area with greater field of view. Additionally, 2 heavy double laser cannons were placed on the front to give the ship firepower that could punch through Imperial Blockades with more force. Naturally, the Rebel Marines caught wind of this unique ship modification within the fleet and pulled a number of strings with high command to add the ship into their squadron. The J-wing corvette probably lacks a stealthy enough profile for long term use with the Rebel Marines and needs a hangar bay for dropship capabilities. However, for now the enhanced firepower, powerful engines, and strengthened hull check enough boxes for the Rebel Marine's objectives.

As you can see, photographing the ship was a challenge because it barely fit into my light box ;). I also discovered dark blue is a difficult color even with LED lights to capture.

I love your backstory and the shaping of the ship! The use of printed Star Wars parts adds a nice touch without looking forced.

I do think you're stretching the definition of "Fighter" with this ship. But it's a close fit so I think we can let it slide.

Thanks for checking out my entry MKJoshA and for giving it's sizing a pass! I suppose just like the real Corelian ships, most of the innards are for systems and not much leftover space for people. In summary, this ship was not designed for cargo transport.
