5150 Lego Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 After just seeing the movie Death Race (one of the best movies of 08') how about a deathe race type theme? Post apocaliptic cars and trucks armed with weapons? There could even be a big rig armed with a tank turnet, missle launchers and such.
LEGOMAN132 Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Anyone else that would like to see impulse sets with a more random content. Kind of like with theese Collectable cards that the kids likes. That would be cool
Flatfoot Thompsen Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I have a theory about a new Ghostbusters line. See, with the new Ghostbusters video game coming out next year, there might be a new GB movie. There have been rumors about a new CGI Ghostbusters movies. And CGI might market it for kids. Is it possible? YOU dicide (not really) !

General Armendariz Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 They should totaly do a WWII :skull: theme or a HALO theme! That would be awesome!!!
posades Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Well let's see: they have the land/underground/underwater/space covered...maybe some type of air civilization or sky theme? Ok, maybe not...

posades Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I agree. like a sky pirates type thing? I know this has been said many times but Steampunk Yeah maybe something like sky pirates, but they can only redesign an airplane so many times...they could maybe have a floating base or something similar to that.
Jipay Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I'd love a stargate licence. Before it's too late ! I think the indy line prooved that "dead old" movies can still bring in some cash in. There's still one stargate show going on (atlantis), and a new one coming out soon. Also TLC produced the vast majority of pieces necessary for those sets. I'd recommand the sets to use the light system in order to lighten up some stuff (for instance the stargate).
Zorro Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Yes, Jipay has a good point, I am such a HUGE fan of stargate myself (both SG 1 and Atlantis), and I'd love to see a theme. BTW There are still Stargate movies being produced as well (Stargate, SG: Ark of Truth, SG: Continuum are already done), but they are medium-cost and appear not to have broken through (yet?), so it is a living theme.
Tim Bit Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I have a theroy that when Jurrasic Park 4 comes that lego will revive there license with speilburg.
Motti Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I have a theroy that when Jurrasic Park 4 comes that lego will revive there license with speilburg. I doubt it much. They released a few sets licenced for JP 3, but it was a total flop. We should just stick to Adventurer where we could explore and not just stick to just movies. I personally would like to see WWII sets the most. I know this is impossible becuase if Lego produced sets based on real things, the political criticism following it would be unbearable.
AgentRick Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Two words:Space Pirates. I agree with you in total consent.

I'd love to see anything with a lighting system. Heck, bring back the fiber optics system. Those were great! I doubt it much. They released a few sets licenced for JP 3, but it was a total flop. I know this is impossible becuase if Lego produced sets based on real things, the political criticism following it would be unbearable. Those JP3 sets really sucked. It seems like there was no thoughtput into them. If we had the thought put into them that the indie sets have, then we could have a winner! As for WWII theme, never say never. Your right that having it directly about WWII would cause alot of problems, but you don't need tomake it about WWII. I think what alot of people would like are WWII based vehicles like the trucks and airplanes in the Indie line. Personally, i'd like to see more modern day military type vehicles. Never know what the future will hold!
Brickthus Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 I may have said this before but I couldn't see it at the start so here goes:Take part in the petiton/poll here I would like to put forward Mark 2 of the long overdue return of the model team line. My reason? Well if you have a look at what lego could do in this theme here and here then I and I am sure most of the community would invest in model team. Especially with the advent of Power functions. To back me up on this I will start a petition and report back with the results. Thank you for your time. Buttons. I'm amazed it took till Page 15 of this topic for someone to advocate the return of Model Team, especially a version of it with more Technic and Power Functions. Such a theme would give AFOLs with both technical and aesthetic flair the challenge they are seeking. The Taj Mahal may satisfy the aesthetic builders and the Power Functions Bulldozer may satisfy the technical builders but we need to combine the two successfully. Such combination is the hallmark of only the best model builders. I accept that prices will start at about £100 but this is for the AFOL market, so we could have rarer colours involved as well (sand green, medium blue, orange, purple - not all in the same set!). In the AFOL market the absence of any large customised pieces would be best. We need versatility. Ideally every set in the new range would have instructions for 3 models, all of them decent enough to exhibit. On meeting the criteria of 3 decent models and a desirable parts list I would buy 3 sets anyway! I suggest that the simplest any of these sets should be is a bit like this truck: The aesthetics need sprucing up to Model Team standards but it has 4-wheel steering, motorised drive, functional 5th wheel and centre axle lift. How about a classic sports car in British Racing Green with functional engine, steering and suspension, with steering and drive remotely controlled by Power Functions? Sets should be "one thing that does this, this and this" (e.g. 5580 Rig with extra functions), not "this and that and the other" (e.g. jeep with boat on trailer) At the top end there are a few people who make 1:13 scale trucks that are scale models with full functionality. I'd say you have some ready made set designs there. The top end could go up to £350 with 5000 parts like the Millennium Falcon because these are UCS Model Team sets. The Taj Mahal may have more pieces but it's more repetitive so less enjoyable. I would expect a UCS Model Team set to require no more than 4 of any sub-assembly. The chassis must be rigid, not made of purely studless beams. The catalogue turnover of such sets would naturally be slower than average because it takes longer to design models with more pieces. I suggest one new set per year with each set lasting 3-5 years in the catalogue, depending on popularity. Mark
Peppermint_M Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 A theme that is Arctic based. A proper research post with geologists, meteorologists and scientists conducting below freezing experiments and researching one of the few places on the surface of the earth that hasn't been fully pocked and prodded to scientific satisfaction.. In other words: Scientific Arctic Research. It could be mildly educational. Unique elements and sets could be the survival pod/tents, the Ice Borers that drill deep into the ice, things like that. A return of the Polar Bears . More diving that isn't science fiction or at least mildly fantastic would be cool too. Under water Archeologists, the super subs that can go to depths of high preassure, things like that.

An Arctic theme would be great; never collected the other one due to my dark age, so maybe they could bring it back in a few years; when did they stop making the old Arctic theme? It took them about 10-12 years for the Pirates to come back, so that may be a good timetable.

Capt. Kirk Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I would like to see something in the line of "Orient Expedition"... in particular a theme like the French Foreign Legion. Let say around the period of 1800-1900. With a desertfort, camels, palmtrees, angry desert tribes, desert war vechicles and many tan. I think it would be a theme that with several other off. (like Indiana Jones, Pirates) and no-off lego themes (like WW I, ApocaLego,...) can be combined.
Bricks Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Would be nice, if those themes will come in the product lines: -Remake: Adventurers -A antique series, like Romans -A continued Batman series -more vestas sets Greetings 'Bricks'
Sulfurix Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) How about SPACE PIRATES.The theme could include the evil Cyber Pirates, the Informanoids (A group of bounty hunters who give their service to the highest bidder, who in this case is the Cyber Pirates),and the justice dealing Galactic Navy. Space Pirates On! Edited January 31, 2009 by Sulfurix
Klaus-Dieter Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 (edited) I'd so much like to see a re-design of or at least a set very similar to this awesome classic set:  Klaus-Dieter Edited February 1, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter
