Captain REX Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Well i for one would like a lord of the rings liscence theme. Not studio as mentioned in the first post. Theres lots of potential for sets here, helms deep, minas tirith, isengard. There are tons of things they could make. And dont say it isnt possible seeing as the last film was in 2003, because look at the star wars and indiana jones themes, and those movies are years old! You might say "well they brought those out in time for their new movie", they could bring lord of the rings sets out in time for the new Hobbit movie!
Tom Bricks Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Sorry if this has been posted but 19 pages is allot and I may have missed it. I would like a reto-futuristic city theme. Like something out of old cartoons, or more recent movies like this: http://rlv.zcache.com/retro_space_rocket_p...5383s98_400.jpg http://www.jimhillmedia.com/mb/images/uplo...binson_city.jpg http://www.jimhillmedia.com/mb/images/uplo...ounded-city.jpg The minifigs could be a mixture of robots, humans and more evolved animals like dinosaurs, and cows, living with humans. The theme would also focus on daily life and should be LAND (if not necessarily on earth) based.
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Here is a completely new idea I think TLG has never been releasing in any theme before and which I really would like to see TLG releasing in the City theme: Bridge Buildup some bridge pieces, one until three pylons, a little van (for transportating tools and workers) and a floating crane including two rock pieces (for the left and the right side where the bridge ends), a handy, some tools and a cup minifigs: captain and two until three workers Playability: The different bridge pieces can be connected together in order to have a long roadway. When the bridge is built up it can either be used as a bridge for cars driving on it or for one train or even better two trains driving on it. The pylon(s) can be added on the bottom of the bridge pieces in order to that a small ship or a train can drive through below it. The floating crane is aible to tranport some of the bridge pieces. The floating crane takes the bridge pieces of its cargo bay, turns round and then adds them to the other bridge pieces which are already connected. This set would offer a lot of playability and action for JFOLs and for AFOLs a great addition to their city layouts or simply the opportunity to get a bridge for a train. Thanks for reading! iLikeSlugzz Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 (edited) LEGO Studios resurrection! Serious, I'd love some new Studios sets. And if they'd do another set with an official 'LEGO camera', maybe they should make the camera DECENT. Idea for one new set: A street with the camera, director's chair, and cast, etc. Like, they're about to shoot a film on a suburbs street or something. Edited May 24, 2009 by iLikeSlugzz

But I personally would prefer a new studios theme to be a mixture between Studios and TV - and more concentrated on play value than on actual movie making (imo there is no need for a camera with which you can make your own movies - better only a subtheme of the current City theme). UserNameInvalid Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Romans seems to be a recurrent request. So why not Asterix and Obelix theme? There are many great characters in these comics. Lots of historic events woven into the adventures. For those who've never heard of Asterix: Asterix official site
hollisbrick Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 A mythology theme in the Greek style would be awsome It probs wont have any humans in it. Like the good Gods and myth creatures Vs. the bad gods and myth creatures
HumanPackMule Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I'd give my left foot for a lego Greek Trireme set.
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) There are a lot of great ideas for Roman sets which can be found here! Thanks for reading. Klaus-Dieter Edited June 9, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter
Rijkvv Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I'd give my left foot for a lego Greek Trireme set. I totally agree with you! That sounds awesome, especially if it's historically accurate. Would love to see a trireme in minifig-scale.
Capt. Kirk Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 What about French Foreign Legionairs,... let's say from around 1850. With dessert forts, camels, palm trees, angry dessert tribes and lots of tan.
Lego_Warlord_8 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 alrighty, LG did good when the came out with pirates. but they should add NATIVES and CONQUISTADORS to the theme as well ... also, it would be REALLY cool if the natives would be Aztecs/Incas. (just as a side note: the natives would look better if they where yellow like the rest of the theme. ) I totally agree with you! That sounds awesome, especially if it's historically accurate. Would love to see a trireme in minifig-scale. yeah! that would be sick! like in the time period of Alexander the great's life... What about French Foreign Legionairs,... let's say from around 1850.With dessert forts, camels, palm trees, angry dessert tribes and lots of tan. yes, very cool.

I think it would be fine to do either or both but I would rather have new blue coats first.
Piranha Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Aw alot of good themes have already been mentioned, but I thought of one or two Specific objects - Empire State Building - Great Pyramid - Leaning Tower of Pisa (spelling ?) - Sphinx - Golden Gate Bridge General Themes: - 20s City type theme (gangsters, old fords and roaring twenties take on the city theme) - 50s City type sub-theme (same as above, apply generation changes as needed) Other ideas or maybe an adventure category King Kong? uh change Iron Man to, getting the Marvel License back too maybe!
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 (edited) In order to do not have to post everything twice here are a lot of awesome ideas and wishes for new City sets ! Thanks for reading. Klaus-Dieter Edited June 16, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter
The Rancor Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 I was looking on the frontpage suggestion topic and it would seem out suggestions ARE being answered! Aquanauts and Aquasharks styleA table top game series 'Table top games series' - well, we know for sure we have that now! Aquanauts and Aquasharks - there is a rumour of a remake for 2010 January.
general_spraka Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 (edited) Problems with Halo sets is that megabloks is making them already. proof: http://www.blogcdn.com/xbox.joystiq.com/me...figurehzwar.jpg http://www.collectiondx.com/system/files/96806U.jpg http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/kota...9/02/bloks1.jpg What about Gears of War sets? Edited June 16, 2009 by general_spraka
The Rancor Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 What about Gears of War sets? Don't forget these Lego toys are aimed usually at 7-14 year olds. How can the blood, guts and gore of Gears of War be in a licensed theme (it's an 18 game) Also I don't think that license would be as well known as Disney, Halo, Indiana Jones etc. (However, in my dream world I would quite likea theme like that ) I think Disney license suggestions are in another thread, so I won't go into much detail. I would like to see Pirates of the Caribbean theme though! (don't worry pirate lovers, they'll still have good designs/parts)
Capt. Kirk Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 What about French Foreign Legionairs,... let's say from around 1850.With dessert forts, camels, palm trees, angry dessert tribes and lots of tan. Little off topic but because I asked for a theme like the 'French Foreign Legionairs (aka Adventurers theme)' this is how a camel in Lego could look like. I know it's not the best creation ever - and not by me - but it's just a thought (although the head is very Lego-ish IMO).
Lord Admiral Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I think "tabletop game series" is more like BrickWars or Warhammer than board games. But that's just the way I read it. Ok, to consolidate what I've said in other posts, and to make a few more suggestions based on what's currently out: General: Space pirates and ninjas as the baddies of SP3 Sky theme (blimps, airships, floating cities) Licensed: Transformers - minifigure-scale, USD 100+ sets released two a year or two every half year. Replicas of mass transit systems around the world Lord of the Rings (maybe it's been mentioned, but it's not listed on the first post, so here it is again) I'm not going to comment on the new board games yet, as some are still a mystery, and I'd rather not repeat something that already exists in some form or another.
