The Rancor Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I think we already decided that video game themes may tempt more kids to play video games (not necessarily bad) I don't really see why you need sets to play with when you already have a game to play with?
Kogyik Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Well here it goes I would love to see some good historical sets( anything from dark age period i.e. 450 to1300 AD ). Although periods ealier would be quite cool as well as the Crusades. If the crusades offend sorry it is a part of history( too much polictical correctness, also my problem with fleshies). Another theme reintroduce Sci-Fi space not space sets that go with the town theme. Gotta like the spacer. NO MORE FLESHIES!!!!! Sorry 'bout that last bit, I just don't like 'em. I haven't bought a Star Wars set since they came out.
Lord Admiral Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I'm a big fan of not simply pirates and ninja sets, but pirates vs. ninjas. And maybe even throw in a zombie or two, kind of like the way the current castle set has knights, skeletons, dwarves, and trolls. (Whatever happened to the skeleton ship anyway?) I'd be a huge supporter of Chinese themed sets, but it'd be difficult to market outside of China (on the other hand, it might be a great way to get into the Chinese market). Chinese history is long and convoluted, and the typically more romantic aspects are also not well known even to the less educated among the Chinese. I'd suggest focusing on two aspects of Chinese culture that are more well known: architecture, and martial arts. Chinese architecture set might include the forbidden city with an emperor and such, towers and/or gardens with a princess, towers with traps and warriors, a battle at the great wall, battles at city wall gates, chinese junkers, etc. Martial arts would have the shaolin temple, a monkey king set (to capitalize off the "Forbidden Kingdom" movie, but since the monkey king is in the public domain, no licensing fees), a taoist temple, some martial arts training implement impulse sets, and for something more obscure the 108 warriors in the water margin. There are a plethora of ideas in any of the classic Chinese books ("Water Margin," "Journey to the West," "Romance of the Three Kingdoms") that could be turned into an action/adventure set, and any such idea could rather easily be adapted to a more western audience without diminishing the fun-ness of playing with the set, but the actual significance would be lost to most audiences without any background. Probably the theme I'd be most interested in seeing is a military theme. Tanks, fighters, battleships, etc. They don't even have to be exactly real weapons of war, just resembling them. And the thing I'd most like to see TLG license is Stargate (SG-1 and Atlantis). But since they have Star Wars, I doubt they'll actually do Stargate sets. It'd be just too confusing for the average joe. Of course, I'm always up for rereleases of some of the older sets and retired themes. Space, model trains, pirates, the classic star wars sets, some of the old castle and city sets, *cough* skeleton ship attack *cough*.
Joey Lock Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) One simple thing which they might be making: EP2 Clone Battle Pack Like the EP3 Clone Battle Pack: But with some Geonosis bits and bobs. I extremely hope this will come out either this year or next year. Many will like this set since people love the new clones. They will buy alot I know. It is going to be so boring playing with the RGS and AT-TE when you get 5 Clones from all Republic Sets... Also mabye you could put in: 2 Clones 1 Commander 1 Pilot Or just 4-5 Plain Clones. I think the TLG should consider this since its a Cheaply made set I think, I mean Edited July 18, 2008 by Joey Lock
Captain Green Hair Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I'd like to see our beloved company make 1x3 tiles, a piece i think would be very usefull! I know i'd buy at least 500 white ones
LEGO Maniac JEM Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 I'd love to have the new Anakin hair in light grey and dark grey. And bowler hats in black, reddish brown and light brown.
simonjedi Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Blank minifigures available to buy from factory. (no printing on any pieces.) to use for transers and things. TLG could offer people yellow hands and head, flesh head and hands and brown head and hands, and torso/legs of a load of preset colours
simonjedi Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 (edited) I just thought of another one: Generic Gunships/AT-TE. This is for people who want to keep buying gunships/AT-TEs for their clone armies without having multiples of Anakin/Ashoka/Obi wan. Keep the current gunships/AT-TE on sale till the start of the new year to get christmas sales, then re-release them with just clones (same amount of figures) later as well as a new sticker sheet with non nose art stickers. It is easy for TLG to do this, just replace 3 or 4 pages in the manual, and alter the box art, the clones won't be a problem, because (if the rumours are true) TLG will be mass producing clones anyway with the battepacks. brickzone Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 As per my earlier suggestion of a Lego City "Life" theme, here is a concept for an office block: It is of course somewhat pricey using PaB, but it's not exactly optimised. I'm sure an office block set of roughly this size/style is possible.

Great idea, just for 10 USD less. 10 less for anywhere. I would love that. But I dont agree with the nose art thing, make 2 new ones, a rancor and a wampa. and the RGS should have 2 pilots and 3 clones and the AT-TE just 5 clones and keep the droid
Wes Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 I'd like to some more pirate ships (the old school kind, not Duplo or 4+) and islands. If that's not available, how about a CITY sailing yacht that could be easily converted to a pirate schooner or sloop? It'd be the best of both worlds. Pirate theme idea thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19602
commandosevy Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 (edited) What about Halo and a ewok or wookie set.. a Halo set would basically be "The Flood" or "Ghost Encounter" a ewok or wookie set would be needed since the only way to get ewoks and wookies was to get older sets which you cant get anymore. since, well most people started collecting Star wars sets in 2007. It'd be the best of both worlds. Pirate theme idea thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19602 To be more specific on the pirate stuff... I would love new pirate ships, islands, or ports, but NOT Pirates of the Caribbean--ESPECIALLY NOT the ghost ship. The last thing Lego needs is more supernatural junk. We already have trolls, dragons, ghosts, HP creatures, and 4+ pirates. We don't need anymore monsters. Give me MINIFIGS.What we need: - Small Pirate and/or Merchant Sloop or Schooner - Galapagos island with pirate shack (standard-size baseplate island) - Imperial Soldier/Guard shore artillery battery (Small baseplate; good for fig/cannon collectors to buy in large quantities) - Pirate Jungle Hideway (large island, lots of vegetation pieces, buried treasure, perhaps an islander or two) - New imperial/civilian dock set, similar to 6277 Trading Post crossed with the Sail-n-Fly Marina (think row of shop faces, with boardwalk in front and docks. One or two mini-ships (ala 6277) and a boat or two included. I'm not sure we need another huge ship, at least until the small ones reignite the market.
Joey Lock Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Yes, you have already said that. Why say the whole thing again? :skull: Felt like it. Psst, Come here, I got something I need to tell you lot...We need Clone Battle Packs! Tell the world!
The Nightwing Reborn Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Some Harry Potter sets from the next two movies as they come out and after all movies are done they could have a year of sets from all movies in fleshie forms. But i guess it is pointless to ask since HP isn't on the products page any more... A Lego Batman Killer Moth minifig, along with other new villians, Commish.G and Babs(Batgirl). Also some alternate Batman/Robin figs like in the upcoming video game. I have failed you HP )TNR(
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 (edited) I would very much like to see a new TV/Studios theme. I think that a new TV/Studios theme would be very welcome at JFOLs as well as at AFOLs: JFOLs today grow up with the TV - it's a part of their world and would be consequently as a Lego theme nearly as important for them as police, fire and construction. AFOLs would like these sets because they would add much more realism to their Lego cities. For both it would be a welcomed change to the "common" sets like fire, police and construstion. A new TV/Studios theme could be done in five different ways: 1. A redesign of the Studio theme with the possibility to make own movies. 2. A Studios theme - but with no possibility to make own movies. (meaning only scenery, minifigs, vehicles, cine cameras, technical equipment, ...) 3. A TV theme with news studio, broadcast van, ... 4. A mixture between 1 and 3. 5. A mixture between 2 and 3. I personally would like to see a mixture between 2 and 3 - but the TV is for me more important than the Studios theme. If something like a new TV/Studios will be hopefully released, I would prefer sets which aren't based on licences (meaning no Jurassic Park Studios sets and Spider Man Studios sets) because firstly they are/would be much more expensive tham non-licensed sets and because secondly non-licensed sets afford much more fantasy, creativity and playability. ptdapen Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 (edited) I'm quite sure this hasn't been mentioned yet, but I would actually enjoy seeing the return of the Ninja theme. Man, I really should have gotten those sets back then. Oh well, too bad for me. Also, I would actually enjoy having more outpost like things for Star Wars. Where are my troops supposed to train and rest? Where are they going to stockpile their equipment? Where should they park their vehicles? Along with that, I would like more Star Wars houses too. Same concept, really. Could have a spice house and have stormies break in. Yeah.. Edit: Give us Lego Warhammer 40k! lol at Lego Tyranids... Edited August 4, 2008 by ptdapen
The Rancor Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 ptdapen, why, oh why would we need Warhammer Lego when Warhammer already exists as a model brand?
ptdapen Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 ptdapen, why, oh why would we need Warhammer Lego when Warhammer already exists as a model brand? Actually, that was more of a joke, but it would be fun for me to see Lego forms of them. It would be cool if there was a Lego tabletop game... though there already is things like Brikwars, and I'm sure those count. Basically, it was just a joke anyways, but the rest was serious.

Mr.Brick Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 (edited) Well, I've been thinking obout this theme for I while now, and I think it is a fairly good idea; We now have city and so on with fiftythousand version of one fire station, but I think it would be good if there will some kind of 'family'/'normal-life'-theme. We do have the creator houses (which are really great!) but they don't have any interior or playablility value (which is made this way on purpose, I know, and I really love it, let it be like that). but for the younger children (or those who are still young inside :P) a more close to home theme would fit. I am talking about a " happy family" like theme. This could include for example: The sets would have quite a bit minifigures, because they play the key role in this theme, but not much more than average. - A house or houses for the family. This would be a big set. The designers of Spongebob LEGO do a great job with the nifty details like a sink and a painting on the wall for the hospital. There could be a bedroom or more in this set. (This one is actually quite hard to design.) A kitchen, sitting room, bath room. An option is to make it modular, so you can add on rooms all the time, without buying the whole expesive huge set! - For example a car with caravan. Your minifigs are going on a weekend out to the lake (or whatever). - Impuls set: Doghouse (typical disneylike) with dog and child and some kind of bone or toy. Child is playing with the dog. (maybe only dog, as add on for already existing set.) - Small school. As most of these sets, this to should be a typical school, with a small tower with a clock, and of course a blackboard and teacher. Medium set. - A playground. With many playing objects which I don't know how there are called :) A small set. - Supermarket. Can be big or small, depending on what's in it. Am not sure, could be a bit boring, but a supermarketcart is a challenging thing to design! - Doctor (with objects to examine the minifig :P) - as mentioned above: A sailing yacht This would be very cool! One of the more exiting sets: You can play that there is a storm and big waves and so, but also that everything is fine, and the family/your figs are sailing to Australia. (joking a bit of course :)) Medium large set. - Fishing at the lake! (vacation-like.) A pier and fishing rods, father and son are catching huge fishes. Hopefully mommy will bake them that same evening. Small/impuls set. These are only examples (could be better), but there are uncountable possibilities with this theme, which makes LEGO possible to compete with Playmobil. It is also an oppurtunity to appeal to younger children and girls! Don't forget the first thing (young) children think of to build is a house, with a family, followed by a city. This theme doesn't really (yet) have a storyline or something like it, but leaves enough space for the creativity of the user. So, waddaya think? Jan Edited August 4, 2008 by Mr.Brick
tin7_creations Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I'd actually like them to continue with the Avatar license, there's so much potential in it, and so many new characters that could be made into minifigs.
