SpinX125 Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 After a long time, I have finally tried my hand at train building, according to my own design. DSB Litra EB (Siemens Vectron) I want to stick to 6 width models to fit official sets Length: 40 studs Width: 6 studs Powered by 9V motor The first three Vectron locomotives arrived in Denmark on 14/9 2020 Siemens must supply a minimum of 42 new electric locomotives to DSB EB (4) by SpinX125, on Flickr EB (3) by SpinX125, on Flickr EB (2) by SpinX125, on Flickr EB (1) by SpinX125, on Flickr For reference: 3202 by SpinX125, on Flickr Quote
Feuer Zug Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 Nice work on the Vectron. The front angles are hard to get and you did well. I applaud you for working in 6-wide. I do the same and it is challenging to get good results. Quote
bogieman Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 Nice job on the windshield area and I especially like the way you did the side handrails, would not have thought to use that part that way. Quote
XG BC Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 looks good! id try to find a way to angle the area below the cab aswell. but other than that good work! Quote
zephyr1934 Posted July 5, 2022 Posted July 5, 2022 That's looking really nice, with some clever part usage. 21 hours ago, XG BC said: looks good! id try to find a way to angle the area below the cab aswell. but other than that good work! I'm not familiar with the prototype, but based on the one photo you included, you might be able to use grilled cheese slopes "studs" forward below the windshield. Speaking of the windshield, did you consider 1x2x2 trans clear panels instead of the windows? There is a thin black band (gasket?) around the windshield, does not look like there is a perfect lego match, the panels would be too small and the windows too large, I don't know which would be better. Anyway, good work and even better in 6 wide. Quote
SpinX125 Posted July 7, 2022 Author Posted July 7, 2022 Thanks to all for feedback and ideas On 7/5/2022 at 3:55 PM, zephyr1934 said: That's looking really nice, with some clever part usage. I have tried the 1x2x2 clear panels, but i thought the black windows worked better but definite not perfect Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Great work, you have caught the lines of the locomotive with great accuracy in spite of the width 6 studs. This excellent solution will allow you to have a lean and fast locomotive The handrails are made with an ingenious technique Quote
