LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 (edited) Chapter 1 of 4 Hello everyone, today I want to introduce my battery powered 7810. In some previous posts I said that I was working on the motorized version of the 7810, but the work took longer than expected ... even if it was worth it! The model is built for the most part with Lego, but I wanted to use: the red buffers (Bluebrixx), the 3D printed wheels and piston rods (Bricks-On-Rails) and last but not least the motor and the blootooth receiver (Circuit Cubes). What I never found when I googled around was a neat transmission system for a fast and powerful locomotive. The solution was the combination of the 20 tooth gear with the 12 one, to increase the rotation ratio without straining the engine and making it weak. The advantage of the compactness of the system made it possible to easily add lights as well. The locomotive inside is ballasted with lead to give stability and the correct inertia. ...three more chapters coming soon! Edited July 17, 2022 by LEGO Train 12 Volts Quote

Oooooh what a nice locomotive we've here. Those CircuitCubes are really useful for this kind of things! I think it's a very good improvement on the original, keeping its simplicity and "spirit". Nice red buffers - surely something to get for this kind of "resto-mod"!!! I'll keep waiting for the other "chapters"!!! Ciao Emanuele! Davide Quote
