I think that'd depend on:

(A) how popular the Ahsoka show ends up being.

(B) how prominent the ghost is in the show.

(C) how audience connect to the shop in the show.

But the ghost is one ship that'd definitely want to shell out for the UCS, so we can only hope.

I like variety. I get that you care about the colour but I'm glad they aren't all orange, but the main NR flightsuit is orange anyway, I mean look at the NR pilots in the Mandalorian we've got Carson Teva, Trapper Wolf, Lieutenant Reed and (whatever Deborah Chow and Rick Famiyawa's pilot cameos were called) all wearing the orange flight suit.

Never was the biggest fan of Rebels, and outside of Hera, there isn't a lot here that I'm in great need of. I was thinking that I might get this, but between the rather lackluster figure selection and the Ghost just not being all that special to me, I think I'll pass.

On a positive note, it is much better than the 2014 version in terms of detail, a little bit flatter than I'd like, but still great. Hera is absolutely amazing, Hawkins' new head is most welcome, and Beyta is perfect figure fodder (hate the NR flight suit in canon, but the figure itself is fine). I also like but don't care about Jacen, and Chopper... well I do have the OG figure so no loss there.

I'm with you on chopper looking somewhat off here, but the live action prop looks pretty great so I don't why they did him so weird looking here. Luckily enough for me I have the OG chopper fig, now (knowing that I'm definitely gonna get this) the only main spectre I'll be missing is Zeb Orrelious. Back to chopper, I think I might try the old head on the new body.

Ghost is 10/10 barring the figs but I am so stoked to get my hands on it that I don't really care.

I guess the ship in the background of the box art is going to be part of that $100 set? Do we know what minifigures are rumored to come with that at all?

I am definitely hoping for Zeb or Thrawn one way or another. Don't know if Zeb is in the show even yet, but for none of these sets to have GAT seems like a wasted opportunity.

That set allegedly comes with Baylan, Shin, Morgan, and a New Republic pilot  The T-6 supposedly includes Ahsoka, Sabine, Huyang, and the unknown inquisitor.

IIRC it's Baylon, Shin, Morgan Elsbeth, and a couple generic NR characters. I suppose it's possible the NR pilot is Zeb but I feel like that's something we would have heard by now. My guess is neither Zeb, Thrawn, or Ezra are in the first wave, but I think there's a chance we'll get a spoiler set with at least Thrawn and Ezra (and the)

I’ve been trying to figure out what issues I specifically have with it. Probably the phantom is a big part of it; docked it looks incredibly stupid.

I typically withhold judgement when I can’t see high res photos (or ideally the set in person), I just had higher expectations I guess with this one.  Currently watching rebels so the source material is fresh in my mind too which is probably playing into it.

How likely is it that LEGO makes a UCS Ghost someday? If I knew they would, I'd probably pass on the forthcoming model. It's nice, but I'm a sucker for minifig-scale models. 

I think the Ghost is better than I thought it'd be tbh, considering the older version and how little space it had, this is a huge improvement over it. I love some of the build details on this new one as well and honestly the figures are great in this. My one concern is how does one fly it around lol it looks like it'd be very hard to do that...seems more like a display piece which kinda sucks for me personally, but still, really good set.

Also how come we haven't gotten the Gunship pics or the other two Ahsoka sets?

Haven’t been active here in a while, but I’m glad to see pictures for some of the September sets.

 

I think the Coruscant Guard Gunship is fine. The $140 price tag is a tougher pill to swallow than last year’s AT-TE, but the set itself is okay in my eyes. The box art isn’t super flattering but in the other picture that leaked, the build looks good to me. I’m excited about the new Palpatine and Padme figures (I just hope Padme doesn’t use the same overused licensed female face the 2019 Padme figure used). New Shock Troopers are exciting. I’m kinda indifferent about this overblown Commander Fox “controversy”.

On one hand, yes, I think it’s a bit ridiculous to see the number of inaccuracies on the figure, especially given the $140 price tag here. Do I somewhat agree with critics that Lego has dropped the ball in terms of quality and attention to detail in recent years? Yes. On the other hand, the inaccuracies are relatively miniscule and I don’t particularly care if they got the kneepad color wrong on a minor character I don’t care that much about. Besides, we’ve generally known what the figure would look like for months now ever since he was spotted in that mobile app so I don’t know why people are so shocked about the design of this figure all of a sudden.

Again though, the bigger issue with the set is the price. I plan on getting it but I’m not in a huge hurry, and definitely not at full price. I’m going to prioritize Bricklinking the 2013 Gunship like I was planning on doing before rumors for this set popped up.

 

The new Ghost and Phantom 2 set gets me a lot more excited, especially since I’m a huge Rebels fan. I was dealing with a good deal of Lego burnout earlier this year and while I’ve gotten past it, I still haven’t been super into 2023’s offerings. I’ve mostly been buying retired Star Wars sets while I wait to get this year’s sets on sale. This is the first new Lego set in a while to simultaneously wow me and make me want to own it ASAP. And this is coming from someone who got the original Ghost and Phantom sets almost exactly a year ago.

The Ghost itself is a major improvement on the 2014 model in just about every conceivable way. Better build, finer detailing, larger interior and it looks more structurally sound. I’m just wondering what that orange and green build is in one of the crates? I thought it could be Hera’s Kalikori at first but probably not. The tiny Phantom 2 looks a bit odd to me but now that I’ve gotten used to it, I actually like it quite a lot. They got most of the shaping and detailing correct, which is impressive given the size. It also fits in with the Ghost so much better than the 2017 Phantom did with the previous Ghost. And overall, it’s just nice to see such a colorful Star Wars set compared to the grays and blacks we usually get.

The minifigure selection appears to be solid. The new Hera looks great, the Mon Calamari pilot is cool and it’s nice to get a Rebel/NR officer minifig. Interesting that this Lego figure is our first look at live-action Jacen Syndulla, who thankfully lost the awful green hair. I will say that I’m not crazy about the new Chopper though. It just looks oddly simplified and 4+-esque compared to the previous figure. The tile on top of his head just looks dumb, especially compared to how they printed Chopper’s dish on the top of the head for the previous version.

Overall, I’m very excited for the set. I look forward to getting this set and the other two sets from the Ahsoka series at the Lego Store for my birthday in September.

Thing is the ghost in universe is a far amount larger than the falcon, so I doubt we would get a true minifig scale ghost.

It could fit good for a $400ish UCS set. Minifig scale would be ridiculous, but with about 3.5k pieces they could make it really nice and fleshed out. 

Plus, Lego would likely feel more comfortable releasing it at that price point than just hanging it at $850+ when it's already a niched ship.

Also, I don't really understand Lego's rationale of revealing the Ghost but waiting on Gunship, which we've obviously all seen, and the other Ahsoka sets.

Oh I agree, I would love a larger fleshed out ghost, I was just going on the fact that usually lego either does minifig scale or oversized ucs sets (except capital ships obvs), and I'm never sure how many people realise how big the ghost is.

Im very intrigued by the idea of an Ahsoka set with both villains and two star fighters.

TLG still hasn’t made the 4L lightsaber blade in the newer Trans Orange so it would be interesting to see if this is an opportunity to see that.

They actually have, you can see them on BrickLink. It's just a matter of whether Lego picked up on the fact that they are indeed orange from the show and include them.

As for Ahsoka, I wonder if her blades will just be the trans clear bars or if its a new piece!

Ah, I misread. They have trans neon orange blades...

It’s too bad that the new Chopper figure still has two grey legs instead of a grey and a green one. Also the lack of side head printing for his arm slots is rough, especially since they were included on the original Chopper figure.

I prefer the plain white lightsabers to trans-clear ones, but I hope they do trans-clear for everyone else. White 4L bars are cheap enough, and they don't have them in trans-clear yet.

Chopper does feel like a bit of a downgrade in the head, but the better torso makes up for it.

 I better check Shop@home UK then, not gonna pre-order it myself but I want to know the price, we know the ballpark thanks to the US and Aussie prices but TLG's price conversions are consistently inconsistent.

No, I get that you were talking about the padded suit design not just the colour, I just wasn't commenting on that cause I had no strong opinions there. 

I was being dumb because you said you could care less about the colour and I took that at face value but it was obvious a typo and you meant couldn't care less.

Trans-clear 4L bars were introduced in 2021 with the ?-block set and have since appeared in 6 other sets  They’re not extremely common, but they do exist

I was wondering that too. I think it is Meiloorun fruit. It is Hera's favorite food. it looks a bit odd and angular, especially since in the movies and TV series it looks more like a spiky mango than an squareshape pinapple.
