I 100% agree. I love Jabba’s Palace so much, and this diorama unfortunately means we probably won’t be getting a UCS/MBS Palace or Barge for a long time. 

Tbh, I don't think a MBS Palace was likely for a while anyway. The last MBS set was the Cantina, another Tatooine building, so I'd imagine that Lego would want to do something like Endor to space those sets out, even if they aren't necessarily on shelves at the same time. I still think we could get a UCS/MBS Barge at some point in the coming years.

 

So far, this week has sucked for me but this Jabba news helps make things suck a little less at least. I've been eagerly awaiting for Lego to include Jabba in a new set for a while. This sounds like a much more interesting choice than a Death Star Duel remake. I can't tell if this is speculation or actual rumor on their part, but Stonewars thinks there will also be five to six figures included as well. They specifically mention Bib Fortuna (which will be nice to get a new ROTJ version) and Boussh, which could be also really exciting if true. Chewie and Threepio reuses would be extremely likely here then and I think we could also potentially expect to see ROTJ Boba Fett and Carbonite Han here as well. I'm really excited to learn more about this set. This might be my new most anticipated Star Wars set from the 2023 rumors.

The rumours are 5-6 minifigures. I think they’ll play it relatively safe. 
 

Jabba, Boushh Leia, Han Solo, Bib Fortuna, C3-PO I think are definitely going to be included. 

(then either Skiff Lando, Gamorrean Guard, or if the Carbonite mould classes as a figure)

Glad to hear we're getting a new Jabba's Palace set, although its a shame it won't be MBS or expandable with other models in the wave as it would've been nice to have gotten more of the background characters. I imagine Bib Fortuna is just going to be the same BOBF figure with only the torso print changed. Will also be interesting to see if they bother bringing back the old Carbonite mold for Han or just use a printed/stickered brick going forward like the Mandalorian sets have been doing.

Hopefully a Sail Barge is on the cards for next year's UCS set.

I assume they'll use the Bib Fortuna head mold from the past, since the BOBF one is a bit different.  I also am guessing that they'll do the Carbonite mold, since at this point it's only been like 3-4 years since they last used it (Cloud City and the last OT Slave I).  I'm assuming the bricks from the Mandalorian sets are just because they're not going to make a mold that large when it's literally only going to be used once.  Storage is also a bit of an issue, especially in the Razor Crest.  It can work with the Slave I, like they did with Cloud City, but I think having two of those carbonite pieces standing up in the Razor Crest would just take up way too much room.

If the diorama depicts the Boushh scene, I feel like Chewbacca pretty much has to be included, as it would look a little half-empty to have Boushh standing in front of Jabba without Chewie.

Of course I'll have to wait for better quality pics, but I like the look of things, even the Bluurg! It'll be interesting to see if the landing gear retracts or just removes to put it in "flight mode".

I hope they use the carbonite mold, but I worry they will have devolved to the 1x2x5. I wouldn't be entirely opposed to a brick-built carbonite slab, but it would have to be much better than the 1x2x5, and to be honest I don't think a good one can be done with existing parts.

 

 

That's... really cool. Aghhhh, I really want this now, but I just got the AT-AT last year, and I'm already planning on going for the Bugle before it retires... my wallet's gonna hate me. (Do I really need to go to college next semester? I feel like the UCS razor crest is more important.)

Like the Razorcrest. Looks to be about 2 studs wider than Jerac's with a new Windshield? And sounds like a few more play features. But no reason to replace Jerac's build for me, especially at $600! If this set was $400 I would be tempted down the line, and Im sure those figures will unfortunately be worth a ton, but a pass for sure. On to next year!

Man no UCS adds this year. Didn't like the speeder, and im done with $600+ SW UCS sets.

Second that all the way - I now think back to the X-wing/Y-wing UCS days compared to the current and recent sets - yes they are great builds and look amazing, but I just can not spend that much.....as my Jerac RZ is lovely and metallic its a bit easier to pass on the official set (plus being display only I'm less bothered about interiors that can not be seen).
