1340cc Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Regarding the P2 clone legions vs plain white P2, Lego might be choosing the coloured legions as P2 clones look similar to Imperial Stormtroopers, and the coloured markings help casual buyers tell the difference? A parent who doesn't know much about Star Wars buying for their kid might see a set with white P2 clones and think "oh he's already got some white troopers, he probably won't want this set". And clone collectors will likely buy the set either way as they want more clones for their army, whetether they have legion markings or not. Regarding the Mando S3E2 set which might be announced soon for August release: Spoiler I think it's either the cyborg with the mech suit that captured Din, or the Mythosaur that appeared in the water at the end of the episode. Won't be Bo Katan's Gauntlet ship as the Clone Wars version was only released in 2021 and the similarly shaped Fang fighter is coming in the TIE interceptor twin pack. Quote

I'm confused. Promobricks posted about it on their instagram page. It's a 45€ 526pc set which is due to be announced on Tuesday, whic they believe is based on something from the most recent episode. Could also be from the first episode, or something non-spoilery from later in the season but that seems unlikely to me. Quote

I'm confused. The part about it being from the first two episodes was just conjecture on my part, since typically with these reveals during the run of the show, they seem to do it after the subject matter of the set has already been featured in an episode. I know that was the case with the pirate fighter, I remember it also happened with Mando's N-1 last year during TBoBF, and I believe it was the case two years ago/whenever that was with Trouble on Tatooine (don't recall exactly on that one). Since it's on a Tuesday and the episode next week won't come out until Wednesday, that was just my assumption, unless they're deviating from the previous pattern and it's something we haven't seen yet, but isn't spoiler-y, but that doesn't make a lot of sense, because otherwise, we probably would've known the name of the set already (as we do with the Fang + TIE). I'd gather than we'll probably see the Fang + TIE set revealed shortly after those ships appear in the season, too. Quote

Yep, got that. 7 minutes ago, Kit Figsto said: unless they're deviating from the previous pattern and it's something we haven't seen yet, but isn't spoiler-y, but that doesn't make a lot of sense, because otherwise, we probably would've known the name of the set already (as we do with the Fang + TIE). I think that with both sets, they'll get revealed when they appear in the show, but for the August one, the reason it's releasing later and why we don't know the name yet is probably because it's spoilery, as opposed to the Fang+TIE set, though the spoilery one might still appear earlier in the season, warranting an earlier reveal. CF Mitch Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Exciting news, regarding the supposed set reveal, next tuesday! Can't wait If the set is really based on the second episode, I can't think of much that it could be, aside from the Spoiler mythosaur but I kinda doubt that, since it was barely a glance we got at it. Would be very cool, though Unless they decide to do the robot-walker thingy? Really hope not Regards, mitch Quote
Nootella Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 With the piece count being higher than the price point, im going to assume the set could be a buildable creature like the babu frik species. Would love if they make a nice system scale set however Quote

If they did that they could justify the price being $15. Spoiler Doubt it would include the entire astromech, maybe the set could have included R5's head - as happened with the 2014 X-Wing microfighter - although then it would have gotten messy designing the back of the ship for a 2x2 astromech head or a 1x1 Grogu. Probably the main reason why we don't get both. Quote

They were pictured in promotional materials for RotS but there are none in the actual movie (at least probably not--there are a few clones in the far background in a few shots that might be plain, and the ball turret gunners in the gunship that drops off Yoda on Coruscant have markings in some shots and seem to lose them in others--but there are certainly none in focus). There are a very, very few scattered in the background of the later seasons of TCW, but again, not enough to have ever been a meaningful presence anywhere, and it's not clear who they're supposed to be in-universe, since there's never been a unit that was described as not having markings by the time the P2 armor was adopted; they only show up when the showrunners need to fill out a crowd shot in a context where they don't want to use any specific legion. The Imperial ones in Bad Batch are the first time they've ever appeared on screen for longer than a couple of frames. Nothing major but I swear at some point in the opening there's a shot of them manning a cannon or something Quote
omegabadbatch Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 45$ mando set prediction Spoiler I think 45$ mando set is peli moto workshop with R5 Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Weird strategy. Why is a set based on one of the first two episodes scheduled for August, while a set based on a later one gets released in May? Anyway, looking forward to the reveal, even though the potential for new characters is pretty limited. Looks like we have to wait until 2024 for the more juicy, spoilery stuff Quote

Idk Putting aside that we basically just had the bo-katan ship (even though it has a stupidly inaccurate cockpit), it would be a really weird move to have Bo-Katan's ship at a lower price point than Mando's starfighter. 4 hours ago, CF Mitch said: Unless they decide to do the robot-walker thingy? MKJoshA Posted March 11, 2023 Author Posted March 11, 2023 I for one would love to see more P2 Shinies. I'd like those far more than TK Troopers. In RotS P2s can be seen at 15:38 At 40:22 At 41:07 At 41:16 At 51:52 Possibly at 1:21:45 So I think they have a lot more presence in the film than people credit And while I was searching I noticed this "mech" at 51:12 So I guess mechs/binary load lifters do already exist in SW. Classic_Spaceman Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 The mechborg would be an interesting build, but I am not sure how it would be a $45, 526-piece set. I do wonder if the set is something that appears in 3x01/3x02, but only becomes significant later in the season (Bo-Katan’s castle or part of Nevarro, for instance). 5 minutes ago, MKJoshA said: So then only 40:22 and 51:52 are confirmed Shinies? Yes - You can tell by looking at the belts, shins, and upper thighs. 6 minutes ago, MKJoshA said: But that does beg the question why the 41st is both defending Coruscant and loading up to help Kashyyyk. Not really; the 41st was deployed to Kashyyyk from Coruscant, so it makes sense that they would be on-hand to fight in the Battle of Coruscant. The scenes do not take place at the same time, so there is really no conflict. Quote

Gontron Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Again, I think people are looking too much into how Lego picks which Clones to use considering it seems to be at random. Just look at the 187th and how long it took them to make 501st and 212th Clones. Lego will throw in plain P2 Clones again when they feel like it. Quote
