I also feel it's another big bley build - I know that's how the source material looks but I feel there will be more interesting things later in the season. I have a feeling this will be another Trouble on Tatooine situation; everyone buys it for the darksaber and new Bo-Katan but the set itself isn't all that popular. How many Mando figs are/will be available now, is he the new Tatooine Luke?

Also is it odd that it's up already on the Lego website, but the only photos are the one pic that everyone's seen and a 360 spin. No box artwork, no lifestyle shots, although admittedly the N-1 microfighter while having more pics at the moment also lacks anything more than renders of the set and figs. Maybe these will show up closer to the release date.

Wow, it's $50 not $45? That's definitely not as good but still on par with Lego Stat Wars pricing unfortunately. Now it's even less excusable that it doesn't include an additional figure for the Rahkshi/Greivous thing and Grogu's pram. It doesn't even look like it has a cage on the belly to put Din in... maybe this is another case of the sets not being as accurate or live up to the source material because LEGO wasn’t given enough to go on.

Really underwhelming and I'm surprised the decision makers thought this was worthy of a set. I already have a Bo-Katan so, unless it pops up super-discounted, I'll probably pass. The arm-print and mando helmet "upgrades" aren't worth it for me. Looking forward to the summer sets.

$50 seems a bit steep to me, but I suppose that's just the usual for Lego these days. The build looks pretty good to me and Bo Katan looks awesome. The Darksaber could be better but I'm fine with it as is. I think I might wait a little and see if Bo Katan and the Darksaber show up elsewhere, but if not then I will try and get this one on sale.

This has me wondering, is this REALLY the mandalorian set we should've gotten? We're gonna get way cooler stuff in the season, so our last mando set for the year is really just a giant grey blob? But that Bo is peak lego, they can make amazing stuff sometimes like sam wilson captain america

That’s how I felt at first when we heard what was coming in that set, but Lego probably doesn’t have much to go off of for the second half of the season. This set is only from the second episode and it still has quite a few inaccuracies and odd omissions. If Season 3 is anything like Season 2, most of the trailer footage is probably from the first half of the season and I’d imagine that in that same vein, Lego was probably only able to make sets from the first four episodes.

Now that I’ve slept on it, I like the set a little less now. Like others are saying, it’s another gray hunk of junk and I don’t feel really accurately represents that really cool scene from the episode. As someone trying to collect all The Mandalorian sets, I feel very *whelmed* by the Season 3 sets so far. I’ll still get everything but I’m still hoping the TIE Interceptor vs. Fang Fighter blows me away and makes up for the rest.

I’m sure it’s gonna look cool, but I don’t have high hopes in terms of minifigs. Probably just the leaked Mandalorian, Din, Grogu, and a TIE Fighter pilot. We’ll have to wait until 2024 for the more interesting characters :shrug_oh_well:

You can thank Lucasfilm for that, they probably give licensees a few disparate pieces of concept art without much context or story elements just so they can put something on shelves whilst the season is airing without necessarily spoiling anything.

Without being that guy and delving into what’s been spoiled for Season 3 online, there seems to be awesome potential for characters and locations in this season that won’t see any Lego representation until next year, if that. I’m sure the wait will be worth it, the 2021 sets we got for Season 2 were pretty damn great after all.

@BrickBob Studpants I seriously hope Din and Grogu aren’t reused again in that dogfight set!

Ha!

I love the new set. I don't keep sets together myself. So what I see is a fantastic parts pack. Plus the figs are great. So it's a win-win for me.

Eh I doubt it’ll be another Trouble on Tatooine, the mech is a 500+ piece beast with display-level detail, whereas the Tatooine set had a speeder plus a junior’s tusken tent and ballista

Yeah, this. It's why we got such an inaccurate shuttle for Kylo Ren for TFA in 2015. I personally hate spoiler culture, but that aside.

The more I look at the set, the more I'm like...this is basically for new Bo-Katan...and darksaber. I might skip it and just get pieces/the new Bo off of BL. I generally prefer spaceships so the spider droid itself is kinda eh to me.

Pricing aside, I hope TLG is learning that Mandos specifically should almost always get arm printing. At least the named ones. Mandos and clone just have so much of their design tied into pauldrons and gauntlets.

Technically, if he was included, this would mark the first appearance of this new version of Din since the other two sets are scheduled for August, while the dogfight set is released in May

No idea who else could be included because we don’t know the context of that scene. More Mandos I suppose

Completely agree.

Also everyone, it looks like the product description for the set mentions that there’s space for a minifigure inside the cockpit of the tank. Seems like an odd thing to highlight.

@BrickBob Studpants Haha true enough! Can’t say I’d be particularly drawn to the set if it just includes more Mandalorian and Imperial Pilots, we’ve had a bazillion of them already.

I just remembered that Lego_Fulcrum teased about 5-6 months ago that we’d be getting a

Grogu IG-11 Mech

this year. If we now know the subject of all three Mando S3 sets, I wonder if they were mistaken or if this is still happening?

Yeah, I'm not feeling this set either. I don't mind a grey blob at all as long as it's a good depiction of the source material, but as a set it just misses something to make it a bit more lively. Oh well, as long as you lot like it... At 50 euros it's practically a steal

The coolest minifig to include in our last Mando set this year would obviously be a character who‘s rumoured to appear this season, so click on your own risk:

Moff Gideon with his black Mando gear.

That or the new Mando character rumoured to be portrayed by

Christopher Lloyd.

Since I don‘t expect either of these, it‘s probably either Din and Grogu or nameless Mandos & Imperials  At least we know what to look forward to come 2024

The Darksaber should probably have a dark pearl grey hilt IMO. Which isn’t much of an issue, since I have a bunch extra of those hanging around.

Overall, I think the set falls a bit short just since Lego likely only had concept art to go off of. As much as I like the Bo-Katan minifigure, she’ll probably come in another set at some point in the next 2 years, and Din and the Darksaber will definitely come in more sets. If I had to choose I’d probably pick up the Hoth AT-ST at the same price point over this one.

I'm pretty sure it is.

Weird that it mentions a "cockpit with space for a lego minifigure", because A: the pilot doesn't seem to be included and B: Where? Where on this is there room for a lego minifigure? Clearly not in the cockpit. Does it mean the cage thing it has Mando in? I don't see that either, though there isn't a good angle to tell.

Hm, I've reconsidered a bit and I'm gonna wait till I find out what minifigures are in the TIE Intercepter vs. Mandalorian Fang Fighter set.
For all we know, they might be the same, and the latter set sounds a lot more interesting to me, buildwise.
And then there's the price, of course... jeez

That Bo-Katan minifigure, however

Mitch

Oh, it looks dark pearl grey in the 360 view, but I thought it was pearl grey in the original photo. Maybe I’m just blind though.
